The rest was all blank.
"Liu, here, do you really live here?"
Liu Linglang blinked and said, "Yeah, I'm used to being alone. What's wrong? Don't you like it?"
"It's not that I don't like it; it's just that it feels like something is missing."
"I understand." Liu Linglang nodded, suddenly snapping his fingers. The ground began to change, and a sun slowly rose. Mountains and rivers appeared, and soon everything came to life, revealing a paradise filled with the sounds of birds and fragrant flowers.
Wei Ning and Ding Ying watched in astonishment, not expecting Liu Linglang to possess such powers. Liu Linglang shook the rattle in his hand, lifted his face, and looked at Wei Ning, clearly waiting for praise.
Wei Ning exclaimed in wonder, "Liu, you're amazing."
"Of course! Otherwise, how about I conjure up a few beautiful women to chase this ugly monster away?"
"What do you mean?" Ding Ying shouted.
"Hmph. I won't play with you, ugly monster." Liu Linglang turned away sulkily.
Wei Ning knew that it must have been when he self-destructed in Soul that Ding Ying was also drawn into the Red Pearl. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing; the essence of the Drought Corpse was originally meant for Ding Ying's recovery. Wei Ning had long been accustomed to the bickering between these two rivals. Although he didn't understand why Liu disliked Ding Ying so much, he guessed it might be related to himself and Ding Ying... At this thought, Wei Ning's face flushed as he caught Ding Ying gazing at him with affection.
"Liu, can you create a few houses?"
"Sure! As long as Wei Ning likes it, I'll build for you." Liu Linglang clapped his hands, and wooden beds appeared on the ground. Although Ding Ying knew Liu Linglang was young and reckless, seeing him create beds before houses stirred something within her as she glanced at Wei Ning.
Then Liu Linglang conjured several pieces of furniture and built a charming wooden house outside.
Liu Linglang clapped her hands, and in an instant, another identical wooden house appeared. "Wei Ning, you stay in this one, and I'll take that one. As for this ugly creature, let it go wherever it pleases. Wei Ning, are you really going to stay here? Haha, I'm so happy!"
Ding Ying retorted angrily, "You brat, even if you beg me to stay here, I wouldn't want to be here for even a second. I'm leaving!" With that, Ding Ying turned to leave.
Wei Ning quickly stopped her because he knew that if Ding Ying remained here, she could "live." If she went outside, it wouldn’t be long before she would likely vanish. Ding Ying had transformed into this state for her own sake; if she got genuinely angry over a few careless words from Liu Linglang and created a rift that cost her life, it would be too great a loss.
While comforting Ding Ying, Wei Ning also spoke kindly to Liu Linglang. Eventually, he managed to persuade Liu Linglang to agree to stay, but on the condition that Ding Ying wouldn’t have a house to live in and would have to stay out in the wilderness. Wei Ning expected Ding Ying to refuse, but surprisingly, she agreed.
In truth, Ding Ying was well aware of her situation. However, this brat was being too unreasonable; if she didn’t put on a show, where would she put her delicate face? Wei Ning had provided her with an escape route, so of course she would take it.
As for the house—well, she still had her husband. With him around, would he really let her suffer in the wild?
Ding Ying secretly calculated and chuckled to herself. This was a rare opportunity for her and Wei Ning to be alone together; how could she let it slip by? Last time Liu had ruined her plans, and she had been upset ever since.
What romance? What Marriage Wine? Why not just get straight to the point?
That night, Liu Linglang returned to her room alone. Wei Ning certainly wouldn’t let the delicate beauty Ding Ying sleep outdoors; he earnestly invited her to his room instead. Ding Ying’s words left Wei Ning speechless: “Are you going to do that with me tonight?”
“What do you mean by ‘that’?”
Ding Ying suddenly wrapped her arms around Wei Ning’s neck and whispered sweetly in his ear, “You know—the things that couples do every night. We’re already married; what’s there to be shy about?”
Recalling the outrageous events of that night—though it had been a dream—Wei Ning felt his face flush. Ding Ying suddenly grabbed him firmly in a sensitive area and giggled, “You really are still a novice. Just wait; I’m definitely going to have my way with you.”
With a fragrant breeze, she dashed deeper into the valley, leaving Wei Ning blushing furiously behind.
Neither Ding Ying nor Wei Ning wanted to enter their respective rooms. They spent the night outside gazing at the stars. Wei Ning was teased by Ding Ying throughout the night but kept things within limits and didn’t make any excessive moves. By morning, they found themselves enjoying each other's company despite everything.
The next day, the Mysterious Elder arrived again. After taking a glance at this paradise, he couldn't help but marvel. Liu Linglang, of course, was very displeased with this uninvited guest who could come and go as he pleased, pouting and sulking in the corner.
Wei Xian Gui walked around, his hands calculating. "The God of Joy is to the south, your deity is to the northwest, the Five Ghosts are also to the northwest, and the Death Gate is directly east. This is the place."
With that, Wei Xian Gui waved his hands, and a mirror emerged from the ground. He turned to Wei Ning and said, "Although we have three years, it doesn't mean we have a lot of time. From now on, I will begin to refine your Yin body. If Dragon Tiger Mountain manages to refine your Yang body while your Yin body here hasn't reached a certain strength, the Yin and Yang cannot coexist. You will never be able to be reborn; your Yin body will be trapped here forever, becoming a ghost without a grave. Meanwhile, your Yang body will become an immortal Blood Corpse. At that point, if your Yang body cannot control your Yin body, you will become a monster even more terrifying than a Drought Corpse, bringing harm to the world. Just think about it."
Wei Ning asked, "Can I really be reborn?"
Wei Xian Gui replied, "My Wei Family has sacrificed generations of disciples; I have devoted my entire life for you, this ungrateful descendant. Of course I have confidence."
Wei Ning said, "Was everything that has happened so far arranged by you?"
Wei Xian Gui answered, "Although there were some complications along the way, for the most part, yes."
Wei Ning's voice trembled as he said, "Does that include my death and the curses affecting my father and uncle and several generations of the Wei Family? Is that also related to you?"
Wei Xian Gui frowned and said, "You don't need to know so much. Right now, all you need to understand is that you must give it your all within these three years. Otherwise, you will never escape reincarnation. You have no choice. You may think I am deceiving you; however, if you try following my methods now, you still have a chance at rebirth. Otherwise, you'll be stuck here with this ghost and this girl for countless eons."
Ding Ying, who had been listening quietly, suddenly sighed inwardly and thought to herself: "If I could spend eternity with him here in leisure, it might not be such a bad thing after all."
