Peng Bai led two spirits into a side chamber. As he triggered a hidden mechanism, a secret door slowly revealed itself. He ducked inside with the spirits, and Wei Ning quickly followed, noticing that Peng Bai had not developed the habit of closing doors behind him. Wei Ning quietly slipped in behind him. 0

Inside the basement, it was pitch dark, but Wei Ning's vision was sharp as if it were daylight. After walking down the corridor for about twenty meters, they entered a spacious underground room. This was the very place where Wei Ning had undergone surgery years ago, though he had no recollection of it. 0

With a snap of his fingers, Peng Bai activated the surrounding "shadowless lights," illuminating the entire basement. Wei Ning's gaze fell upon the severed limbs and dismembered bodies hanging around, causing him to furrow his brow. His eyesight had been restored entirely thanks to Peng Bai, which filled him with gratitude. This was why he felt uncomfortable about forcibly taking Liu Linglang from him. However, seeing this usually amiable Peng Bai reveal such cruelty made Wei Ning's impression of him diminish significantly, replaced by a growing sense of disgust. 0

Peng Bai approached the Yin-Yang Boy, crafted from his own son, and summoned the two freshly refined spirits. The Yin-Yang Boy suddenly opened his eyes wide, trembling like a delicate porcelain figure, wanting to flee outside. 0

"Trying to escape?" Peng Bai's eyes gleamed with intensity as he fixed his gaze on the two spirits. He formed a sword gesture with his hand, conjuring an invisible wall that blocked their escape route. 0

Fear intensified in the spirits' eyes as they found themselves trapped. They huddled in a corner, whimpering softly. At that moment, the Yin-Yang Boy's intestines began to extend from his navel, reaching out like a glass jar that grew longer and longer, resembling a hand that wrapped around one of the boys. The boy screamed in terror but seemed too frightened to struggle excessively; he merely looked at Peng Bai with wide eyes as if pleading for mercy. 0

The Yin-Yang Boy pulled the male spirit into the jar and opened his mouth wide, revealing teeth like saw blades before devouring him whole without even spitting out the bones. 0

Peng Bai watched with a smile and said, "Slow down, slow down; no one is competing with you..." 0

The other girl trembled uncontrollably, watching helplessly as her companion was consumed bite by bite. She realized that her fate would soon mirror his. 0

Indeed, after finishing with the boy, the Yin-Yang Boy appeared unsatisfied and reached for the girl next, slowly devouring her piece by piece. 0

Wei Ning stood by several times on the verge of intervening to save these poor children. It was heartbreaking to realize that they had died young and now found no peace in death; they had been refined into souls by Peng Bai and turned into "delicacies" for the Yin-Yang Boy. However, if Wei Ning acted rashly now, it would surely alert Peng Bai. If he discovered that Wei Ning had interrupted his sinister work, he might kill him to silence him. With no knowledge of Liu Linglang's whereabouts and risking everything on a hasty move would be foolish. Thus, Wei Ning could only endure patiently while praying for these unfortunate children and keeping an eye on Peng Bai to see what further horrors he intended to unleash. 0

Seeing that the Yin-Yang Boy wiped his mouth in satisfaction after finishing his meal, Peng Bai chuckled and remarked, "Your appetite is growing larger; you can eat two at once now! Soon enough, you'll have devoured all the souls in this realm. Alright then, get some rest; Father has more business to attend to." 0

Peng Bai cast another spell, and only then did the Yin-Yang Boy fall into a deep sleep. 0

From his pocket, Peng Bai pulled out a sphere. Upon seeing it, Wei Ning's heart skipped a beat; he was very familiar with this object—it was the essence of the Drought Corpse, and Liu Linglang resided within it. 0

Peng Bai patted the Red Pearl but received no response. He shook it near his ear, still nothing. He then picked up a nearby Soul Banner and struck the Red Pearl several times with all his might. At that moment, a boy around three or four years old tumbled out of the Red Pearl. 0

"Ouch! That hurt! Why are you bothering me? I was sleeping so soundly!" Liu Linglang exclaimed, hands on his hips, looking quite indignant. 0

Wei Ning couldn't help but laugh. He hadn't seen this child for a few months, and now he was spouting such coarse language. It dawned on him that it must have been his master who taught him well; when the upper beam is not straight, the lower beam will be crooked. It seemed Liu was better off following him after all. 0

Peng Bai was a Dwarf, not much taller than Liu. He struck Liu on the head with the Soul Banner and said, "Who’s your grandpa? Are you tired of living?" 0

Liu Linglang winced in pain but refused to back down. Instead, he straightened his back and quickly retorted, "Shorty, shorty, shorter than a bridge! A shorty isn't even as tall as a broom! Broom's tall, broom's short; shorty gives birth to little ghosts!" 0

Peng Bai hated being called short. Hearing Liu Linglang's words made his face turn green with anger. He swung the Soul Banner down again, but this time Liu learned his lesson and quickly dodged. Peng Bai chased after him with the Soul Banner in hand while Liu began to run around the altar, clapping his hands and shouting insults. Peng Bai was furious, puffing out his cheeks and glaring at him, yet he found himself helpless against this mischievous spirit. 0

Wei Ning nearly burst out laughing. Even someone as clever and well-behaved as Ding Ying had been left speechless by this little rascal; what was Peng Bai doing but making things difficult for himself? 0

"Stop!" Peng Bai finally halted his pursuit of Liu Linglang. The boy stuck out his tongue at him and said, "What’s wrong, old man? Can’t keep up? Come play with me some more. Let’s have fun!" 0

Peng Bai coldly smiled and replied, "Fine, I’ll play with you right now." With that, he chanted an incantation, and suddenly a pair of arms emerged from the ground to firmly grab Liu's feet. Startled by the sudden appearance of the arms, Liu shouted loudly, "Bad guy! Let me go! Let me go!" 0

Peng Bai ominously declared, "Now you can't escape, can you? You've tormented me enough these past few days; today, let's see how I deal with you." 0

Liu Shuang clutched her chest, her face flushed with anger as she said, "You bad person, what do you want? I'm not afraid of you." 0

"I'm not going to do anything. Just giving you a bath," Peng Bai replied coldly. With a flick of his hands, he summoned Liu Linglang to his side. He lifted her effortlessly, as if she were a chicken, ignoring her struggles and the foul words spilling from her mouth. 0
