Suddenly, the body of the Wax Corpse seemed to crack, revealing numerous fissures. As the waxy exterior peeled away, a blood-red monster emerged, its face resembling that of someone whose skin had been stripped away, making its features unrecognizable. The only discernible aspect was a pair of blood-red eyes that spun wildly in their empty sockets, as if they might pop out at any moment. The creature was entirely drenched in crimson, but its fingernails were long and glossy, resembling blackened claws. The Blood Corpse's head slowly rotated a full three hundred sixty degrees, and with its right hand, it plunged into its chest to retrieve a blood-red Heart that continued to beat rhythmically. The Blood Corpse placed the Heart back inside, and a chilling "smile" appeared on its face, more terrifying than before. 0

The movements of the Blood Corpse were excruciatingly slow, yet the slowness only heightened the tension in the air. 0

Wu Haozi had initially thought this ordinary wax figure was meant for burial; he had torn off the Black Hell King Paper to use as toilet paper (Wu Haozi recognized talismans but had never seen a black one, mistaking it for an ordinary piece of paper). Little did he know that releasing such a monster from the wax figure would lead to disaster. 0

Was this a Zombie? It even had a beating Heart? 0

At this moment, Wei Ning and the others had no time to ponder further. Lin Lingsu was the first to act; as soon as the Blood Corpse pulled out its Heart, she fired her gun. However, after an entire magazine was emptied, it felt as if Lin Lingsu had loaded rubber bullets instead—the Zombie showed no signs of being affected. 0

Wu Haozi, having seen his fair share of things, quickly loaded his shotgun and fired. Smoke billowed from the barrel, but the result was the same as Lin Lingsu's. 0

Physical attacks were ineffective! 0

Wei Ning also took action; she launched a Corpse Controlling Talisman directly at the Zombie's forehead. Yet it remained futile. 0

Suddenly, the Blood Corpse lunged forward with uncanny speed. Before Lin Lingsu could react, it had seized her tightly. Its blood-red eyes locked onto hers as it extended its tongue and slid it across her face. A wave of revulsion washed over her; despite her courage, being a girl made this encounter far more nauseating than frightening. 0

Wu Haozi began firing wildly at the Blood Corpse from behind, but there was no indication that any bullets had struck home. The creature slowly turned its head one hundred eighty degrees while still gripping Lin Lingsu. 0

It seemed that Wu Haozi had provoked the Blood Corpse; it released Lin Lingsu and in an instant appeared beside him. With one hand, it lifted Wu Haozi high into the air. He struggled desperately to break free from its grasp, but one of its hands clamped down like an iron vice. 0

With its dark claws, the Blood Corpse slashed at Wu Haozi's abdomen, causing his intestines to spill out mid-air while blood splattered across the creature's head. 0

"Die!" Zhang Ye shouted fiercely as he swung his machete like a streak of green light with tremendous force aimed at the Blood Corpse's neck. 0

With a clang, what fell was not the head of the Blood Corpse but rather Zhang Ye's blade itself. 0

Zhang Ye looked at the handle of his knife and cursed, "Damn it, it's another shoddy product. Fake goods can kill people!" 0

He rolled on the ground, picked up Wu Haozi's shotgun, and quickly loaded it. With a loud bang, he fired a shot at the Blood Corpse's head. 0

The Blood Corpse found a new target and abandoned Wu Haozi, who was now terrified beyond belief. Wei Ning hurried over to him, gathered his spilled intestines, and stuffed them back into his abdomen. Then, he pulled out some gauze and quickly wrapped it around Wu Haozi's belly before tossing him a talisman. Without thinking, Wu Haozi shoved it into his mouth. 0

Yang Na, who had been waiting for the right moment, finally made his move. He produced a long whip that coiled around the Blood Corpse's neck. The Blood Corpse was restrained by the whip, preventing it from lunging at Zhang Ye immediately. 0

With a flick of his wrist, Yang Na snapped the whip into several segments. It turned out that this whip was not made of rope but was instead composed of countless snakes biting each other's tails to form a chain. Once the whip broke, numerous snakes crawled all over the Blood Corpse's body. Yang Na formed a hand seal and shouted, "Explode!" Boom! Boom! Boom! Countless snakes detonated like bombs on the Blood Corpse. At that moment, Lin Lingsu arrived beside Yang Na, continuously firing her silver gun at the Blood Corpse. 0

A cloud of smoke enveloped the area, and the Blood Corpse seemed to be motionless. Yang Na let out a sigh of relief; however, before the smoke could clear, a red shadow lunged at him. Just as Yang Na attempted to flee, he found himself immobilized as if struck by an acupoint. 0

Unbeknownst to him, Lin Lingsu had quietly placed a binding talisman on him while he was distracted by Yang Na's hand seals. 0

"Wretch!" Yang Na gritted his teeth as he saw the Blood Corpse reaching for him. Just when he was about to be caught, the enormous Golden Python behind him—Changxin—lunged forward and yanked Yang Na back. 0

In the distance, Wei Ning trembled slightly and shot out a marble that knocked off the binding talisman from Yang Na's body. 0

With another shake of his hand, he launched a Fire Spirit Pearl that struck the Blood Corpse. 0

Immediately, flames erupted from the Blood Corpse's body. 0

Wei Ning continued to bombard the Blood Corpse with Fire Spirit Pearls; flames soared ten meters high as the Blood Corpse finally came to a halt. 0

Everyone let out a sigh of relief. 0

But just as they thought they were safe, the Blood Corpse charged out from the flames once again. 0

Because those in this line of work know that Corpse Transformation is divided into eighteen types: Zombie, Blood Corpse, Shadow Corpse, Flesh Corpse, Skin Corpse, Jade Corpse, Walking Corpse, Blown Corpse, Sweat Corpse, Furred Corpse, Walking Corpse, Awakened Corpse, Armored Corpse, Stone Corpse, Fighting Corpse, Vegetable Corpse, Cotton Corpse, and Wood Corpse. Except for the impossible Drought Corpse, all are afraid of fire. Even the Zombie that was about to become a Drought Corpse during the Six Deaths and Five Burials was reduced to ashes when engulfed by Inferno. 0

Various signs indicated this was not an ordinary Blood Corpse. 0

This was a fire-resistant Blood Corpse. 0

"Damn it, I'm going after you!" Yang Na, who had been calm and unhurried from the beginning, finally lost his temper and shouted: 0

"Jin, go!" 0

The Golden Python swiftly darted to the side of the Blood Corpse, opening its mouth wide and swallowing the entire Blood Corpse in one gulp. 0

"Is it still not dead?" Yang Na said. "I'll turn myself into a monster like you." 0

"Thank you, but I have a piece of advice for you: stay as far away from this Viper Woman as possible. She'll devour you just like Jin did and won't leave a bone behind." 0

At that moment, Wei Ning had already found time to help Wu Haozi heal his wounds and said lightly, "Just now we were all dealing with that monster; naturally, we shared a common enemy." 0
