The White Tiger sat in the hall, where peace often heralded disaster. 0

If any friends wished for their ancestors to rest uneasily after death, and for their descendants to live in turmoil, then building a Yin House in such a place would be ideal. 0

Wei Ning grabbed Lin Lingsu's arm and said, "Hurry up. Let's get back quickly. The Evil Energy is too strong here; it's not good for us to linger." 0

Lin Lingsu brushed off the dirt from her clothes and adjusted her hair. "My hands are filthy; I need to wash them somewhere." 0

Wei Ning quickly interjected, "Don't go over there." 0

"Why not?" Lin Lingsu tilted her head and asked Wei Ning. 0

"Just don't go, okay?" Wei Ning thought it best not to explain the feng shui concerns to her; Lin Lingsu wouldn't understand anyway. "Let's head back soon. Look at you, you're covered in dirt." 0

"It's precisely because I'm dirty that I need to wash off this mud before going back," Lin Lingsu replied, ignoring Wei Ning as she walked toward the edge of the pond. 0

Wei Ning sighed, realizing she couldn't stop Lin Lingsu. However, she thought to herself that with her around, nothing too serious would happen. 0

As Lin Lingsu reached the pond's edge, she suddenly exclaimed, "Hey, it looks like there's someone over there." 0

Wei Ning followed Lin Lingsu's gaze and saw what appeared to be a shadow of a woman by the pond, combing her hair. Her long hair cascaded down into the water, but her bangs obscured her face, making it impossible to see her features. 0

Under the cold moonlight, a faint and elusive song drifted through the air: 0

"Light, light, night light, 0
I have a night crying lad at home, 0
Traveling gentlemen recite once, 0
And sleep soundly until dawn." 0

The bald mountain, deep pond, and mysterious long hair formed an eerie scene. 0

"Who is that? What are they doing out here so late?" 0

"Don't go over there," Wei Ning felt an ominous sense of foreboding and quickly tried to stop them. It was late, and the scene was so strange that anyone could tell this was not the time for curiosity to take over. 0

"Let's go take a look," Lin Lingsu seemed quite interested. 0

Just as Wei Ning was about to protest, Lin Lingsu called out loudly, "Hey, you over there! Why aren't you heading back so late?" 0

"Aren't you all still here as well?" The person gathered his long hair that hung down into the water and tied it up on his head, walking towards Lin Lingsu and Wei Ning. 0

As he got closer, Wei Ning realized that this was a long-haired man who looked somewhat familiar, though he couldn't recall where he had seen him before. 0

"May I ask for your names?" the man said politely, bowing slightly. 0

Suddenly, a flash of recognition hit Wei Ning. It was him! The same man he had encountered with Wang Tuozi, the one who had also drunk from the Grasshopper Witch. But how did he end up here? 0

He remembered how Wang Tuozi had stopped him from revealing his name at that time and thought to himself that this was not good. He blurted out, "Don't tell him." 0

Unfortunately, it was too late. At that moment, Lin Lingsu had already spoken up: "I'm Lin Lingsu—what's wrong?" 0

"This is bad," Wei Ning thought, although he didn't know what would happen next. He just knew that there must have been a reason why Wang Tuozi had warned him against telling this man his name. 0

What he didn't notice was that Lin Lingsu's eyes seemed to be veiled in a gray haze, her expression somewhat dazed, only illuminated by the moonlight. 0

"If you two have nothing else to do, why not come to my place for a seat? It would be a shame to let this encounter go to waste." 0

"Sure," Lin Lingsu replied. 0

"I'm sorry, but we need to head back," Wei Ning said as he grabbed Lin Lingsu's hand and tried to pull her away. 0

To his surprise, Lin Lingsu shook off his hand and said, "Great! I'm actually thirsty; let's go have some tea at your place." 0

"Wei Ning" said urgently, "No, let's go back." 0

The man laughed, "If this brother is really in a hurry, he can go back first. I'll take this young lady for a drink and then send her back afterward." 0

"Wei Ning" thought to himself that if he let the man take her away, who knows what might happen. He quickly grabbed "Lin Lingsu" and said, "We should head back early. This person... there's something off about him." 0

"Not at all! I think he's quite nice!" "Lin Lingsu" exclaimed loudly. 0

"Wei Ning" cleared his throat to cover his embarrassment and said, "Let's go. If there's anything, we can talk about it when we get home." 0

"No! I want to go now! My mouth is dry; I need water!" 0

"Wei Ning" felt helpless against her insistence. He thought that since it was just a drink, they could leave right after. With him around, "Lin Lingsu" should be fine. 0

The man lived in a wooden house by the pond. Unlike the typical farmhouses that had been renovated with brick and tile and furnished with furniture, this place seemed quite poor; there wasn't even a television, comparable to "Wang Tuozi's" home. 0

What was strange was that the entire house was covered with black cloth. Long strips of black fabric tightly shrouded the walls, leaving one to wonder what was inside. 0

The man smiled and said, "You must be hungry. Why not eat something here before you leave? I'll prepare it right away." 0

"Lin Lingsu" nodded eagerly, "Sure!" 0

"Wei Ning" shot a glance at "Lin Lingsu," but she seemed oblivious. He nudged her shoulder again and insisted, "We should really leave soon; this place feels very eerie." 0

The man rummaged through a cupboard and brought out two large bowls, covering them with two others before placing them in front of "Wei Ning" and "Lin Lingsu." He smiled and said, "In this remote area, there isn't much to offer you two. Just make do with this." 0

"Lin Lingsu" cheerfully accepted the bowl and grinned, "I'm just hungry enough to see what delicious food you've got." 0

As she lifted the bowl's cover, it revealed a severed human head still dripping with blood, its eyes wide open as if in eternal shock. 0

"Ah!" Lin Lingsu screamed as she dropped the bowl in her hands, stepping back three paces before fainting with a soft whimper. Wei Ning quickly rushed to support her. At that moment, he was also quite frightened, but he knew he couldn't abandon Lin Lingsu at such a critical time. 0

Wei Ning dragged Lin Lingsu and prepared to run outside. However, he soon realized that his feet were unresponsive; no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't move. 0

It turned out that the long hair of the person had ensnared both of their legs. 0

"Why are you leaving without saying goodbye? Is the food not to your liking?" The person looked puzzled as they opened the bowl meant for Wei Ning, revealing a human head inside. Holding it in hand, they examined it closely and said, "This isn't mine; where is mine?" 0

"Right," the person tightened their hair, pulling Wei Ning and Lin Lingsu closer. They began to feel Lin Lingsu's unconscious form, muttering in confusion, "Is this it? Is this it?" Suddenly, the person laughed and touched Wei Ning's face. "Yes, it's here, it's here." 0

The person clapped their hands like a child. 0

Wei Ning was terrified but quickly thought of something. Remembering what Wang Tuozi had said about blood from the tongue being a way to break curses, he bit down hard on his tongue and drew a deep breath before shouting, "!" This was the first character from Wenxiang's Righteousness Song. 0

A mouthful of fresh blood sprayed onto the person's face. 0

The person let out a shriek as their hair loosened. Seizing the opportunity, Wei Ning felt an unexpected surge of strength and hurriedly scooped up Lin Lingsu before racing out of the room. 0
