In the beginning, there was Profound Darkness. 0

Hatred erupted, and fire was born. 0

Wounds healed into scars, forming the earth. 0

From Screams of Agony, the wind emerged. 0

What dripped down from above was the Ocean of Tears. 0

We were born in darkness, and what we knew as Bleak Earth was filled with harm, pain, anger, and sorrow... 0

As the cold wind howled into this world, the sky above gradually dimmed. The Clock pointed to six fifty, and in this empty room, only a strange Silence remained. 0

This winter seemed unusually cold; it was merely the season of Early Winter, yet the Evening Temperature was low enough to send shivers down one's spine. 0

Shivering in the cold wind were not only the withered leaves but also those thinly clothed human Survivors. 0

As a survivor camp that had grown to over two hundred people, Ban Qingya maintained a stable order and a friendly atmosphere. 0

In this camp, there were none of the usual intrigues or dark crimes found in typical Survivor camps. 0

The human Survivors here felt more like family members warming each other amidst the apocalypse, supporting one another through the disasters of this world. 0

Yet even in the warmest places, an imperceptible chill and darkness lingered slowly. 0

When those Evil Spirits crawled out of the darkness, it marked the burial of this warm camp. 0

In the room engulfed in Silence, the girl's words, "She has been dead for a long time," echoed faintly. 0

However, Ban Qingya stared at the two girls in front of her for a long time before suddenly bursting into laughter. 0

"Are you two trying to scare me with ghost stories? What do you mean Xing'er has been dead for ages... Xing'er just spoke to me a moment ago. If she really is dead, then who are these people talking to me?" 0

The two girls exchanged glances and shrugged. "Believe it or not, it's up to you. We've said what we needed to say. Sister Qingya, if you don't believe us, there's nothing we can do." 0

Ban Qingya found it amusing as she looked at the two girls and tapped their heads lightly. 0

"I know you both don't like Xing'er, but there's no need to curse her death; that's just rude, don't you think? Also, where's Mr. Chu Donglin? Didn't he give you a good beating for saying such things?" 0

"Oh, Big Brother... he went across the Li River to find Liu Xiner." 0

Ling'er shrugged and said, "He doesn't believe us either, just like Sister Qingya. He has to go confirm it himself. Tsk, whatever, it's fine by me. If he goes now, he might as well collect Liu Xiner's body... if he can even find it." 0

Ban Qingya playfully tapped the heads of the two girls again. "Haven't I told you? No cursing Xing'er to death... You two are so cute and pretty; can't you show a little courtesy?" 0

Ling'er covered her head, looking indignant. 0

"What do you mean cursing her death? I'm just speaking the truth! Sister Qingya, why won't you believe me just this once?" 0

Keara innocently covered her head and looked pitifully at Ban Qingya. "Exactly! It's clearly sister's fault. Why do I have to get hit too..." 0

"Because you two brats are cut from the same cloth." 0

Ban Qingya closed the book in her hands and pointed to the dining table not far away. "Alright, I'll discuss this matter with you later. You two should go have dinner first; the food will get cold soon." 0

However, the two girls scanned the living room and ultimately focused on the coffee table behind Ban Qingya. 0

"Uh... Sister Qingya, who are you talking to? The intercom is still on?" 0

On the coffee table behind Ban Qingya, a red light was blinking faintly, indicating that the intercom was active. 0

Prompted by the two girls, Ban Qingya turned around and noticed the red light on the intercom. She smiled. 0

"I actually forgot..." 0

She chuckled and shook her head, reaching out to turn off the intercom. "I was chatting with Xing'er for a bit; I must have forgotten to turn it off... I can be a bit forgetful sometimes." 0

However, her hand stopped halfway. 0

A thought crossed her mind. 0

If the intercom had been on all along, then Liu Xiner must have heard everything those two girls said. 0

With that realization, Ban Qingya instinctively glanced back at the two girls. 0

Seeing her look over, the two girls immediately broke into bright smiles, responding to Ban Qingya's gaze with their adorable expressions. 0

Ban Qingya thought for a moment before bringing the walkie-talkie closer. She cleared her throat and said into it, "Xing'er... Xing'er? Are you there?" 0

Silence filled the air on the other end, with no response. 0

Ban Qingya considered that Liu Xiner was likely no longer listening, but she still felt compelled to speak up for the two outspoken girls. 0

"Um... Xing'er, Ling'er and Keara are just kids; they don't really understand yet. But they're both very kind-hearted, or else I wouldn't have accepted them into the camp. About what they said, I'll talk to them later and make sure they apologize to you properly. Can you forgive them for this little mischief?" 0

After a pause, Ban Qingya continued, "Xing'er? Xing'er? Are you still listening?" 0

There was still no answer. 0

Ling'er shrugged indifferently and walked away like an adult. 0

"There’s no one on the other end, Sister Qingya. You’re just talking to thin air." 0

As she spoke, Ling'er pushed her sister toward the dining table. "I'm so hungry! Sister Qingya's dinner smells amazing! I want to eat!" 0

Just as Ban Qingya sighed in relief and prepared to turn off the seemingly unresponsive walkie-talkie, a sudden rustling sound came from the other end, as if something sharp was scraping against the microphone. 0

Ban Qingya froze for a moment; the scratching noise was somewhat jarring. Her instinctive motion to turn off the walkie-talkie halted. 0

"Xing'er?" 0

She listened to the piercing rustling sound and softly inquired, as if probing. 0

However, as her gentle call transmitted through the intercom, the rustling noise in the room suddenly ceased. 0

In the eerie silence, a strange dark aura seemed to drift into the room, causing Ban Qingya to furrow her brows involuntarily. 0

Then... 0

"Hehehe..." 0

A bizarre, light laughter echoed from the other end of the intercom. 0

Enchanting yet strange, it enveloped everyone in the room with a chilling coldness. 0

That laughter was unlike anything Ban Qingya had ever heard; it was an eerie and frigid sound that no normal human could produce. 0

In a fleeting moment, she seemed to catch a glimpse of something red flashing on the windowsill before it vanished... (To be continued...) 0
