In "Mausoleum Secrets," I encountered a practice known as Ghost Divination, a long-lost branch of Maoshan Divination. Unlike traditional divination that relies on numbers or facial analysis, this method harnesses the power of malevolent spirits! However, Ghost Divination is fraught with danger; as the saying goes, it's easy to invite a ghost but hard to send it away. Many practitioners have summoned evil spirits during their divinations and found themselves unable to rid themselves of these entities, often resulting in tragic and untimely deaths.
The Spirit of the Pen involves inviting malevolent spirits to perform divination, summoning ghosts that typically linger behind people, siphoning their Vital Energy.
As for why so many people can play Spirit of the Pen without incident, that's a more complicated matter. It could be that during the game, they didn't open themselves up enough for the spirit to possess them, or perhaps they possess an excess of Yang Qi, making them less appealing targets for stronger spirits. There are countless reasons. However, for someone inexperienced, the chances of successfully engaging in Spirit Writing are slim. But one mustn't be overly confident; if a blind cat happens upon a dead mouse, it could lead to a situation where one inadvertently attracts a spirit during what was meant to be a game.
The Yokai Lantern is another Supernatural Game. The rules dictate that at midnight, one must light 100 white candles and gather around them to share eerie and terrifying personal experiences. After each story, a candle is extinguished, with the final tale told by the host. When the last candle goes out, all participants are said to be taken to hell.
If I were to evaluate this game, I would say its dangers far exceed those of Spirit of the Pen!
First and foremost, midnight is when Eerie Energy is at its peak—it's the time of the Yokai Parade. What on earth are you doing telling ghost stories? Haven't you heard the saying about keeping your eyes closed and avoiding ghost talk at night? If you rush into sharing ghost stories and happen to attract a wandering spirit, it might think you have an affinity for it! Inviting such entities is alarmingly easy; just utter "I love you" to one, and it will eagerly follow you around day and night, draining your Yang Qi!
Secondly, white candles are often used in funerary rites!
Why is that?
Because spirits are drawn to offerings of incense and candles; they particularly enjoy consuming white candles and specially crafted incense!
Lighting 100 white candles all at once will surely attract any passing spirits eager for a taste!
Thirdly, the stories shared are among the most bizarre and terrifying experiences of the players. As they recount these tales, their minds inevitably revisit those frightening moments. Since these are eerie stories meant to instill fear, it's only natural that fear weakens one's Yang Qi!
With conditions ripe for summoning ghosts established and factors that appeal to them present as well, the stage is set for potential possession.
Is three rules not enough to kill someone?
All of us, the Career Women, are just bored and looking for trouble, living our lives without a care. After watching too many ghost movies, our minds have gone haywire, thinking those eerie things are cute? So we rush to seek out suffering!?
As expected, trouble arose when they played like this!
At that time, there were ten girls playing this game together. Not long after finishing, problems began. Initially, one girl kept experiencing sleep paralysis, and the strangest part was that she found blood on her second bed sheet!!!
As the Song People say, dying of hunger is a big deal!
That girl was an intern, still not graduated this year, but she was known as an exemplary student, not the kind of person who lived recklessly. When this issue was discovered, she fainted from crying. But fainting didn’t help; life had to go on, so she returned to school. However, the situation remained unchanged. Night after night, she suffered from sleep paralysis and lost weight drastically. Eventually, her family became worried and brought her home. They consulted a local Fairy, but unfortunately, it was useless. In the end, that girl couldn’t hold on for half a month and died; the hospital couldn’t determine the cause of death. When she died, she was nothing but skin and bones.
Then the misfortune of the second girl began!
One night, that girl went to the bathroom. Suddenly, her dorm mates heard her scream from inside. They rushed over to find her unconscious in the toilet pit. After cleaning her up, they took her to the hospital. The next morning, that girl jumped off a building!
The third girl died in the dormitory bathroom. It was the weekend, so no one was around; the other girls had gone out on dates!
This girl happened to be single and stayed behind to take a shower. When her colleagues returned that evening and found no one around and noticed the bathroom door tightly shut, they sensed something was wrong. Later, when one female colleague went in to use the toilet, she screamed upon discovering that the girl had already died with black handprints all over her body. After examining her, the doctor confirmed that she had been strangled to death.
The fourth girl died in the Swimming Pool while swimming with several others. Shortly after entering the water, she began to struggle.
Something had grabbed her foot and pulled her down into the water; no one could hold onto her. One brave girl even dove underwater to see what was happening but found nothing pulling her down. In the end, that girl drowned—how absurd it was to drown in less than a meter deep water!
With four girls having accidents in a row, the company could no longer sit idly by and called the police; however, there were no leads at all. Later on, someone in management suggested that these deaths were suspicious and proposed consulting a Fairy as a last resort—at least give some explanation to their families; otherwise, they wouldn’t let it go. Ultimately, under pressure from those parents, the company had no choice but to agree. The school also put in considerable effort regarding this matter; after much inquiry from the president, they finally managed to contact an old man for help.
Originally, this matter had little to do with me, but after the arrival of the Great Deity, the girl in that dormitory was fine, while several male colleagues ended up suffering. Zhou Daming, feeling that renting a place was too expensive, moved in with some colleagues, only to meet his demise just three days later. Thus, the old man thought repeatedly that it would be best to assign this task to me.
As for the suspicion that the four deceased girls were related to playing the Yokai Lantern, that was entirely a hint given to me by an intelligence officer from the Sun and Moon Alliance after sorting through all the clues. All the deceased girls had played the Yokai Lantern Game together! They suggested that once I investigated the situation regarding the Sun and Moon Alliance thoroughly, the issues concerning those male colleagues would likely be resolved.
The benefit of tasks coming from the Sun and Moon Alliance is that they provide a certain level of analysis along with the information. Zhengyang's analysis is quite accurate; generally, following these clues can lead to uncovering the truth!
After reviewing the mission details, I fell into silence. Seven lives had already been lost; it seemed this thing was quite deadly!
Moreover, and most importantly, I couldn't deduce anything from the deaths of those four girls. I had no idea what kind of Demon was causing this chaos!
Since I didn't know, I could only investigate personally!
I gritted my teeth and called Big Mouth Lee to prepare for a visit to that company to conduct an on-site investigation!
