In that moment, my soul trembled with fear.
Instinctively, I tightened my grip on the spines on the back of the Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Then, the Tyrannosaurus Rex leaped into the air, its jumping ability astonishing. With a whoosh, it soared nearly twenty meters high, and the sensation was akin to riding a rocket shooting upwards at breakneck speed. My adrenaline surged, and I felt as if I was floating!
However, this was just the beginning!
Soon, after reaching the apex of its jump, the Tyrannosaurus Rex began to descend and then crashed down to the ground.
With its weight exceeding a hundred tons, falling from such a height created a tremendous impact. At that moment, I felt the earth shake violently; the ground cracked beneath us as the Tyrannosaurus Rex's legs plunged into it like knives. The force of the impact was terrifying, something that no human body could withstand. My fingers throbbed with pain, and I could no longer hold onto the spines; I began to plummet downwards!
Not only did I fall, but Zhengyang and the others were also descending rapidly!
This Tyrannosaurus Rex stood at least forty to fifty meters tall. Falling from such a height would surely be catastrophic for me!
I panicked, instinctively reaching out to grab onto the scales of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. However, due to the violent descent, I couldn't get a grip; my fingers were scraped raw, and my nails split. The pain shot through me like electricity.
Fortunately, this helped slow my fall. By the time I reached the belly of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, I had almost completely arrested my descent!
"I’m going for it!"
I couldn't help but shout as I gathered all my strength to grab a scale on the belly of Zhuocheng Tyrannosaurus. Miraculously, seizing this opportunity during my fall, I managed to grasp it tightly and hung onto the belly of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Turning my head, I saw that Zhengyang and Ghost Granny had made similar choices; they clung to scales and protruding areas to slow their descent and ended up hanging on without incident!
Except for Furball!
I remembered that it had been riding on the spine of Zhuocheng Tyrannosaurus, so it fell later than me. By the time I secured myself, it was just then falling down. Without hands or feet, Furball couldn't hold onto anything; it desperately tried to bite a scale but ended up falling straight down.
If this continued, it might die from the fall!!
Out of nowhere, Xiao Xiao found her courage and let go of her grip on a scale to dive down. She soared through the air with a shout to save Furball! At that moment, all I could do was hope for Xiao Xiao.
Animals are inherently empathetic; there’s no one who doesn’t like them.
When Xiao Xiao reached Furball, they fell parallel for over ten meters before she managed to catch Furball in her arms. This helped mitigate the tremendous impact when she caught Furball. Then she flew upward with Furball in her embrace and returned to riding on Furball's back!
After all, that place would not be attacked by Furball, and given the current situation, it was the safest option.
Seeing that Furball was fine, I felt relieved.
At this point, I definitely couldn't stay on the Tyrannosaurus Rex any longer. I had already slipped down to its belly, and if it jumped again, it would truly be the end for me!
I glanced down and estimated that I was about six to seven meters above the ground. It shouldn't be enough to kill me. In a flash, I made my decision. Grabbing onto the scales of the Tyrannosaurus Rex's belly, I swung back and forth like on a swing. When I had enough momentum, I suddenly let go, and my body arced downward in a parabolic trajectory toward the ground. When I landed, instead of using my legs to absorb the impact, I rolled on the spot to dissipate as much force as possible. Even so, it still hurt quite a bit; my head was spinning and I felt dazed!
Not just me; everyone else made the same choice at that moment, jumping off the Tyrannosaurus Rex and hitting the ground!
Roar!
At that moment, the Tyrannosaurus Rex roared in a near-frenzy, finally turning its head around.
The first one it focused on was me!
Yes, it was me. The instant its crimson eyes locked onto me, chills ran down my spine. I felt frustrated that my weak constitution attracted ghosts; did it really have to attract dinosaurs too?
But when I noticed the Tyrannosaurus Rex's constantly twitching nose, I understood why it had zeroed in on me!
It was blood!
I had previously stabbed its broken scales with a bi shu knife, which had gotten smeared with its blood. This creature had an incredibly keen sense of smell and immediately recognized that I was the one who had harmed it, so it fixated on me!
Damn it!
I cursed inwardly and spat out the blood that had come from my mouth upon landing. Quickly getting up from the ground to escape for my life, just then the Tyrannosaurus Rex charged at me with astonishing speed. The ground trembled with a thunderous roar as its claws struck down; each time they hit the ground, I could feel it shake violently beneath me.
In an instant, this giant creature was upon me—direct and brutal—lifting its massive foot to stomp down hard!
This was like facing a mountain!!
Covered by the enormous shadow of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, I trembled uncontrollably. Gritting my teeth, I closed my eyes and ran to the side. Fortunately, luck was on my side; I was fast enough to escape just as its foot came crashing down, narrowly avoiding death's scythe!
Boom!
Then, the foot of the Tyrannosaurus Rex landed less than a meter away from me, crashing down like a heavy hammer on the ground. The force was astonishing, as if a bomb had exploded right beside me. When it landed, the air surged beneath its massive foot, creating a shockwave that slammed into my back, leaving me dizzy and stumbling. I fell over, rolling like a tumbleweed and quickly tumbling away to a considerable distance.
At that moment, I truly felt overwhelmed; my entire body ached, and I lay on the ground, unwilling to move.
However, the Tyrannosaurus Rex had no intention of letting me go. It turned its head and opened its mouth to bite down on me.
Its enormous head drew closer and closer.
I could even smell the foul stench from its mouth, and those sharp teeth seemed to be larger than my own head!
Its movements were incredibly swift. I knew there was no escaping this time, but I couldn't just wait for death to come. As I watched that gaping mouth approach, an unexpected surge of courage welled up within me. With a sudden burst of energy, I sprang up from the ground like a fish leaping out of water, pushing off with my feet and charging straight toward the dinosaur's mouth!
Better to enter the dragon's jaws than let its teeth catch me; as long as I wasn't crushed, I still had a chance!
I was gambling with my life!
"Ah!"
In that final moment, I heard the furious shouts of everyone around me before the Tyrannosaurus Rex's jaws snapped shut with a thunderous sound, cutting off all those voices.
