Four Doors of Tomb Raiding
I heard Bald Qiang say this, and it clearly left me in a daze.
According to the records in "Mausoleum Secrets," the four most famous sects among the tomb raiders are General Fa Qiu, Tomb Raider, Mountain Moving Daoist, and Unloading Mountain Brute!
General Fa Qiu is well-known for his skills in seeking dragons and determining burial sites! I've heard of him before, but it seems he only has one direct descendant, and that lineage has probably been lost long ago!
The Tomb Raider sect is more prevalent because of the numerous tombs left behind by Cao Cao. The descendants are also quite widespread, so there are still many Tomb Raiders today. Bald Qiang belongs to this lineage. Their methods are largely similar, but each has its own characteristics. They excel at digging graves and avoiding traps within tombs, and they adhere to strict rules. When raiding a tomb, they consider what the tomb owner did in life; a Tomb Raider will only take three items and will light candles in the tomb to ask for the deceased's permission beforehand. In summary, the Tomb Raider profession is probably the most rule-abiding among the Four Masters of Tomb Raiding.
As for the Mountain Moving Daoist, to be honest, I don't know much about them. I only know that they were not originally Han people; their ancestors were residents near a place called Zaglamar Mountain in the Taklamakan Desert region of the Western Regions. They are also known as the Zaglamar Tribe and are considered a branch of the Jingjue Nation Ghost Cave Tribe. Due to various reasons, they suffered from strange illnesses and eventually had to migrate as a whole clan. This group is skilled in the art of elemental manipulation, which involves understanding how the five elements interact with one another. Eventually, they took up the profession of tomb raiding and developed a unique path, becoming knowledgeable about traps and using mechanisms to deal with various dangers within ancient tombs. However, since tomb raiding has a negative connotation, they typically refer to themselves as Daoists to conceal their identity as tomb raiders. Later generations named their sect Mountain Moving Daoist. Their self-identification as Daoists may also relate to their ancestral ties with Taoist sects.
Now, Unloading Mountain Brute is quite interesting.
This group used to be a band of outlaws who raided tombs when there were any and resorted to robbery when there weren't—always at odds with the authorities!
The Unloading Mountain Brutes are all skilled fighters, but more than that, they possess an exceptionally keen sense of smell!
They abstain from smoking, drinking, and spicy foods, living on a diet of bland vegetarian fare. All these factors have honed their sense of smell to be even sharper than that of dogs; wherever there’s a tomb, they can simply crouch down and sniff around to uncover its secrets—quite impressive.
However, after the Mongolian army invaded Central Plains, this lineage was dissatisfied with the bloodshed caused by them and rushed into Mongolian territory searching for Genghis Khan's tomb in hopes of disrupting their ancestral feng shui. This led to hostility from the Mongolian army, which hunted them down relentlessly until it nearly wiped them out. Those who survived fled overseas and have rarely been seen for hundreds of years.
With Bald Qiang gathering the Four Masters of Tomb Raiding together, could it mean that those who haven't walked this path for many years—the Mountain Moving Daoists and Unloading Mountain Brutes—are also making an appearance?
I noticed two individuals who had been with the fat man earlier; one was wearing a Daoist robe. His hands were rough but his fingers nimble—clearly someone skilled at crafting objects. If I’m not mistaken, he must be a Mountain Moving Daoist; those hands must have been shaped by making mechanisms.
Then there was that burly man; despite his rugged appearance, he was drinking tea instead of alcohol with the fat man and his group. He was clearly strong and fit; he must be an Unloading Mountain Brute.
With all four factions gathered together, it seems this mission is going to be quite challenging—both Unloading Mountain Brutes and Mountain Moving Daoists have shown up!
So who exactly is General Fa Qiu? It certainly isn’t me; could it be that fellow Big Mouth Lee?
A faint smile crept onto my lips as Bald Qiang had already pulled those two closer to chat with them.
During our conversation, I learned that the Gray Robed Daoist was called Saint Void Child. As for the Unloading Mountain Brute, Bald Qiang referred to him as Bear Big, which made me laugh immediately. Seriously, Bald Qiang, Bear Big, and Bear Two are all here? I was initially pondering that it was inappropriate to call someone by such nicknames, but before I could ask for their names, these two were quite easygoing and waved me off to just call them that. At least for now, they seemed pretty friendly.
After chatting with them for a while, I had just asked about Zhengyang when a calm and warm voice suddenly came from behind me: “Xia, long time no see.”
The voice was familiar and unforgettable. I quickly stood up and turned around to see a figure standing quietly behind me. Dressed in a blue robe that blended seamlessly with the surrounding azure sea, he was tall and slender, carrying an ancient sword on his back. His handsome face featured sword-like brows slanting into his temples, and a gentle smile graced his lips. It was none other than Zhengyang.
His aura had become even more ethereal. Just one glance from him made me feel as if he could see right through me. He nodded slightly, his tone carrying a hint of admiration: “Not bad! You haven't been defeated by these difficulties; it seems you will achieve great things in the future!”
I was about to discuss Qingfengzi with him when he seemed to read my thoughts. “Good deeds bring good rewards; evil deeds bring evil rewards! You don’t need to say much; I already know!” With that, some of my inner thoughts quickly retreated.
At that moment, his gaze sharpened as he focused on the bowl and Xiao Xiao.
His attention quickly zeroed in on the bowl before shifting to Xiao Xiao. The smile on his face gradually faded until his expression turned ominously dark.
It must be that with his Daoist practice, he had seen through the bowl's identity.
This was concerning; he must have known about the bowl's situation long ago. Why then did he look so grim? And what was so shocking about Xiao Xiao being a living person?
I hurriedly said, “Zhengyang, this is my friend!”
Zhengyang's brows furrowed even deeper. Although he raised his hand as if to say something, he ultimately lowered it and looked at me intently: “Xia, do you even know what you are doing?”
I was taken aback; how would I know what I had done?
A bitter smile appeared on my lips as I lowered my head and hesitated: “I don’t know where I went wrong.”
Zhengyang's expression changed immediately; his face turned ashen as he held back for a moment before pulling me into a cabin and whispering urgently: “That woman is not human!”
I gasped in shock: “Impossible! My spell clearly succeeded! How can she not be human?”
“This poison is incurable. You have only temporarily suppressed her Corpse Poison. If it weren't for your luck, you would have been dead long ago!”
"Impossible!"
"That's right. If it weren't for your bridge-building method, she would have been soul shattered. Do you understand? If she were to cause chaos, don't blame me for cutting the weeds at the roots!"
"No way! She's my friend. If anyone's going to die, it should be me first!"
"Fine, on your account, I'll observe her slowly and see how it goes."
He was tough on the outside but soft on the inside. With that, I knew this matter was temporarily settled. I quickly changed the subject, "By the way, let's discuss the situation regarding our mission."
"Follow me. This time, all the clues are primarily in Bald Qiang's hands. We need to have a detailed chat with him!"
I nodded and immediately followed him without a second thought.
I called out to my companions, and they hurriedly caught up. Bald Qiang was restless as well; he scampered over, seemingly having overheard our conversation! Once Zhengyang walked past, he lowered his voice and asked me, "Xia, what exactly is the background of your friend? Why did Zhengyang immediately show murderous intent upon seeing her?"
I fell silent.
After a long pause, the fat guy patted my shoulder and said, "Alright, I get it now. Your friend is my friend too! Don't take it too seriously. Let's talk about our upcoming mission arrangements together!"
