The "Mausoleum Secrets" records that there are three types of Incarnate Spirits: the White Corpse, the Crimson Evil Corpse, and a third known as the Black Evil Spirit Corpse.
The origins of these Ghost Corpses are vaguely described in "Mausoleum Secrets," with many details glossed over. In summary, these entities possess high intelligence and human-like bodies, yet they can absorb all malevolent energy from the surroundings. In a sense, they can no longer be called corpses because of their elevated Spiritual Energy; their cultivation speed is incredibly fast, allowing them to reach a high level in a very short time—because they are sentient!
While the exact formation of these Ghost Corpses remains unclear, both Furball and I suspect that it relates to the blood within the coffins. This blood contains extremely evil power and may even be cursed, leading to the transformation of the bodies of the women inside the coffins. They retain their living characteristics but are filled with Eerie Energy.
This practice completely violates Yin-Yang Balance and even reverses it to an incomprehensible degree. Yet, due to spells and arrangements, it has been realized, making these Ghost Corpses destined to be abandoned and forgotten by the world.
As I approached, I caught sight of her facial expression—her features were strikingly familiar!
“Xiao Xiao!”
My eyes filled with anger but also hope. Looking at the situation with the Blood Fiend Corpse, with Corpse Poison and Yin Sha energy intertwining, it was clear: Yang Persons should not enter! The feeling of helplessness was truly indescribable.
“Brother! I understand what you mean!”
I gritted my teeth and said, “Do what you can; accept your fate!”
After a moment's hesitation, I finally exhaled deeply: “If there really is no chance for reversal, then… let’s eliminate her!”
Regrettably, this last statement took an immense amount of effort to utter, but I had no choice.
This was fate.
“Alright!”
Furball said, “Brother! Follow my lead!”
I had little to say; after all, Furball's abilities were well-known. I nodded and followed its instructions, striding toward the Blood Coffin. As I approached within about ten steps, I could smell a faint Blood Smell. A chilling wind swept through, causing me to shiver uncontrollably—a reaction induced by the Eerie Energy.
“Brother! The Eerie Energy here is intense; you must be careful. I'll provide you with a Shadow Mist for protection!”
Furball whispered softly. As soon as it finished speaking, a terrifying Shadow Mist began to rise around it. This Shadow Mist was generated from Furball's gathering of Killing Intent from the surroundings and would not harm me; on the contrary, it provided some protection. At least when this Shadow Mist emerged, the chilling sensation of Eerie Energy subsided!
I strode over to the coffin, raised my hand, and with a loud crash, shattered the crystal inside.
Shattering the crystal unleashed the residual spiritual energy from the blood that still lingered in the corpse.
A thick, pungent smell of blood assaulted my senses, so intense it was almost as if I were standing in a mass grave!
In that very moment, the figure submerged in the blood suddenly opened her eyes. When I saw her gaze, my heart sank heavily because her eyes were completely blood-red. Even through the blood-filled coffin, they appeared hauntingly beautiful yet utterly bizarre.
Could a normal person's eyes ever be this color?
This was clearly a sign of deep demonic possession—she was beyond saving!
“Brother! Don’t look into her eyes; she’s trapped in the Blood Fiend Corpse Formation, and it’s dangerous for you! Reach in and pull her out!”
Fortunately, as I reached in, a layer of eerie energy enveloped my palm, preventing my skin from coming into contact with the blood. Otherwise, who knows what kind of harm that strange blood could inflict on me!
“Brother! Use your index finger to poke her between the eyebrows and recite the Ancestor Master’s incantation!”
Following its instructions, I recited the incantation and poked her forehead with my finger. Instantly, her previously opened eyes closed again, clearly subdued.
I held the blood-soaked Xiao Xiao tightly and hurriedly asked, “Is there any hope for her?”
“Difficult!”
Furball shook its head with difficulty, letting out a sigh that belied its age. “It’s very hard. Although she hasn’t entered a critical state yet, she’s nearly transformed completely. The only way to bring her back is to transfer all her ominous energy onto someone else. Only then can she recover, but whoever bears that ominous energy will be at their fate's mercy!”
“What method is that?”
“The Yin Sha Bridge Method!”
I had some understanding of this method; it was indeed quite peculiar to use.
“Brother! No matter how strange it is, I’m going to give it a try!”
"Then tell me, what exactly is the Yin Sha Bridge Method?"
"It's simple. The Yin Sha Bridge Method allows you to temporarily transfer your Three Souls and Six Spirits into the body of another living being, existing as a parasite for a while."
As it turns out, the Yin Sha Bridge Method is a bizarre technique invented by one of the Ancestor Masters of the Taiqing sect during the late Yuan Dynasty, with a history spanning hundreds of years. However, due to its incomprehensible nature, it has been classified as a Forbidden Technique by the Taiqing sect since its inception. It is strictly prohibited to use unless absolutely necessary.
The so-called "bridging" involves using magic to forcibly extract a person's soul from their body and then transferring that soul into another living being—a strange and ancient art.
"So, basically, I just find some stray cats or dogs and transfer my soul into them? Then I can forget about my current body?"
"That's about the gist of it, but there's a catch: it has to be a living person!"
Upon hearing this, my heart sank. Who else here is alive besides me? Are they suggesting I bridge her soul into my body and then use magic to break this Yin Sha's Scheme?
"If we don't take action immediately, even a Great Immortal won't be able to help!"
I pondered for a long time. Although it involved significant risk, I gritted my teeth and said, "Alright! Since we've ended up on this deserted island, whether I can survive or not is uncertain. If that's the case, then let's treat this dead horse as a live one!"
"Brother! Transferring her soul into your body will create a powerful rejection response. If you can't concentrate fully to resist it at that moment, you could be in grave danger. If trouble arises, you could be possessed or worse—both of you could die instantly. You need to think this through!"
