The moonlit night was silent, casting a bleak white glow everywhere. 0

A young man in white stood beside a dilapidated pavilion. 0

From this vantage point, he could overlook every corner of the town, much like gazing over a plain from a cliff. 0

The night was not too deep; distant lights flickered in and out. 0

It was eerily quiet, with leaves falling and no sound of the wind. 0

As the ancients said: "High places are cold." 0

The young man in white did not feel the chill; he simply stood there, gazing up at the starry sky and taking in the night scenery before him. 0

It seemed he was lost in thought. 0

"Brother Ye Xiu is going to a faraway place, somewhere unreachable for mortals. If you shine brightly in this world, I will surely find you." 0

Indeed, the young man in white was Ye Xiu! 0

Ye Xiu had a brother with whom he shared a deep bond, but one day, his brother suddenly vanished. The only words left behind before his disappearance lingered vividly in Ye Xiu's memory. 0

Now, Ye Xiu found himself in the forest park, which had once been their secret base. However, the park was now in ruins, littered with debris. According to the elders, this park used to be the heart of the town; countless people would stroll here after dinner. But then, several deaths occurred within its confines, leading to its abandonment. People almost never came back; yet a few brave souls still dared to venture here. After its abandonment, the forest park became notorious for hauntings. There were decaying unidentified objects on the ground by the trees and terrifying blood handprints on the walls of the wooden restrooms. Gradually, this place became known as a haunted ground among locals. 0

While Ye Xiu was somewhat skeptical about the hauntings, he firmly believed that there was something sinister about this forest park. 0

Ye Xiu and his brother, Big White, had come to this forest park to play when they suddenly spotted a long-legged spider on the ground. They pressed it down with a stick, preparing to observe it closely, when they noticed another one nearby. Looking further, they found yet another. As they examined the area, they were taken aback to see that the ground had turned dark; there were long-legged spiders everywhere—on the ground, on the stone benches, and in the trees. In a panic, Ye Xiu and his brother fled from the scene, and for a long time afterward, Ye Xiu never returned. 0

As the cold wind blew, Ye Xiu shivered; it was late at night, and it was time to go home. 0

Unknowingly, he had already turned seventeen! 0

As usual, he walked through the knee-high weeds until he reached the forest park. 0

He stepped over trash and obstacles until he arrived at the pavilion. 0

Looking down at the town from there, Ye Xiu couldn't help but feel a wave of emotions wash over him. 0

He often dreamed an incredibly vivid dream—a dream filled with flashing blades, white snowflakes, and bright red blood. There were many people in this dream, some ugly and some beautiful. 0

Most importantly, there was a man dressed in a white fox fur coat amidst the icy snow, allowing the fierce wind and snow to dance around his heavy and broad snow-colored cloak. This man resembled his brother so much! 0

He couldn't recall the specifics of the dream anymore, but upon waking, he still remembered a few key phrases: Seven Lives, Falling Star, and Starlit City. He didn't know what the first two meant, but he was familiar with Starlit City. Ye Xiu always felt as if something was calling out to him. 0

It was time to pursue that call! Ye Xiu finally made up his mind to head to Starlit City! 0

As he turned to leave the park, just at that moment when he looked back, a bloody face appeared before him. 0

Ye Xiu's heart felt as if it had been grasped by an invisible hand; every nerve in his body tensed up suddenly, rendering him unable to move even an inch. 0

Before him stood a figure drenched in blood—no, it was more accurate to say a bloody ghost. Its entire body was a dark crimson, making it impossible to tell whether it wore black clothing or nothing at all. As he looked closer at its head, he saw hollow eye sockets leaking fresh blood, a nose that seemed to have been sliced off halfway by some sharp object, a mouth devoid of a lower lip, and one ear missing. 0

Of course, at that moment, Ye Xiu couldn't observe such details. From his perspective, there was simply a bloody—ghost. 0

Ye Xiu appeared frozen in shock. 0

At this moment, he didn't even know what he was thinking. 0

He had just been saying his goodbyes; what had happened in that fleeting moment when he turned around? 0

Right, a ghost had appeared? One that was covered in blood. 0

How could there be a ghost in broad daylight? 0

Was he seeing things? 0

Wait, it really seemed like there was a ghost? Could it be someone in disguise? 0

Why would there be such a ghost? 0

Could it be because of the way he opened the door this morning? 0

This ghost seemed real! 0

Yes, it must have been the wrong posture when opening the door this morning. Yes, that has to be it. 0

In that brief moment, Ye Xiu's subconscious was engaged in a silent dialogue. He didn't even realize he had such thoughts. Hmm. He probably got scared silly. 0

Coming back to his senses, Ye Xiu looked at the ghost. Terrified, his legs went weak, and he fell to the ground, scrambling to escape. 0

At that moment, Ye Xiu was so frightened that he was just a hair's breadth away from losing control. 0

After crawling a few steps, he surprisingly managed to stand up and started running. After sprinting for a while, he thought to himself that after running for so long, he should be far enough away from that thing by now. 0

So Ye Xiu stopped, leaning against a pillar with his left hand while his right hand rested on his waist as he gasped for breath, glancing back. 0

Sure enough, it was gone. 0

However, something felt off. 0

After a moment of thought, he suddenly jolted awake! 0

Where did this pillar come from!? 0

Turning around, he realized he was leaning against the very pillar of that dilapidated pavilion where he had encountered the ghost!!! 0

Oh no! What the... 0

"Should it be like this?" 0

Ye Xiu turned around with a frustrated expression. 0

As expected. 0

"Ah! Hello there, what should I call you? Mr. Ghost?" 0

What a load of nonsense. 0

It seemed he couldn't escape the clutches of this ghost. 0

However, at that moment, the ghastly figure did not make any further moves. Instead, it bowed slightly, as if giving Ye Xiu a path to walk through. 0

Ye Xiu was taken aback for a moment, thinking it might be some kind of trap. 0

But now Ye Xiu regained his composure. 0

He realized he couldn't escape from this ghost's grasp; there was no need for the Demon to set any traps. 0

But what if he was just bored and wanted to toy with me? 0

Forget it. Since death is inevitable, I might as well trust him a little. 0

Ye Xiu cautiously observed the bloodied face of the ghost while carefully moving his feet. 0

Just as he was about to step closer, the ghost moved. 0

The ghastly figure revealed a mocking expression and reached out its hands toward Ye Xiu. 0

At that moment, Ye Xiu couldn't think of anything else; he summoned all his strength and ran wildly. 0

Finally, he managed to escape from the terrifying park. 0

He vowed never to return to this place again. Even Big White was haunted. 0

With lingering fear, Ye Xiu glanced back at the forest park, and just as he turned, his gaze met with a pair of hollow, bloodshot eyes. 0

Then, a chilling voice echoed through the air. 0

"Trust me, you will come back." 0

Ye Xiu shuddered and immediately ran toward the town. 0

Now, he believed in the existence of ghosts. 0

Ye Xiu took a moment to collect himself, finally stepping out from the shadow of the fright he had experienced. 0

Having lived this long, it was his first encounter with a ghost. But now that he thought about it, escaping from the clutches of a supernatural being was quite thrilling, and he felt a sense of happiness about it! 0

However, at this moment, Ye Xiu was ready to leave! He aimed to establish himself in the big city, striving to reach greater heights so that his brother could see him! 0

After waiting by the roadside for a while, a dilapidated bus pulled up. 0

Once on board, he noticed only a few scattered passengers; it seemed business wasn't doing well. 0

Ye Xiu chose a window seat in the second-to-last row on the right side. Yes, he liked this spot. It was his preference on any bus. 0

Habitually, he pulled out his headphones and played a relaxing tune while reflecting on his ghostly encounter. 0

Then he recalled the ghost's last words. 0

"See you again?" Hmph! As if! I’d have to be bored out of my mind to seek you out! 0

But could a ghost actually speak? Was that strange? Encountering a ghost was probably one of the oddest things he could imagine. 0

Legends say ghosts feast on humans, yet here he was, having escaped. He figured no one throughout history had managed that before. 0

Ye Xiu couldn't help but smile lightly at this thought, as if he had never experienced anything terrifying. 0

The music in his ears gradually faded away. 0

He lifted his head and saw the stone tablet not far ahead. 0

Luo Long Town. 0

Yes, this town was called Luo Long Town. 0

There was a legend about Luo Long Town. 0

It was said that before this town was established, it was a wasteland, so barren that even cacti couldn't survive. Then, a group of homeless refugees discovered this place while passing through. Suddenly, the weather changed dramatically; dark clouds gathered, blocking out the light, and a massive vortex appeared accompanied by thunder. Following that, a giant dragon, shimmering with golden light, fell from the vortex. When the dragon touched the ground, its body vanished, and the land underwent a tremendous transformation. The soil gradually became fertile, grass sprouted everywhere, and trees began to emerge, growing rapidly as water seeped from the ground, looking pristine. This oasis-like existence evolved before the eyes of the refugees. Thus, the homeless decided to settle here and named this place Luo Long. 0

After it became a town, some people found the character "Luo" unappealing, leading to its current name—Luo Long Town. 0
