On the second morning, I opened my eyes and stretched comfortably.
After last night, all the Buddhist Relics within me had been completely devoured by the Buddhist Scriptures. I gained quite a few benefits and learned seven powerful Buddhist Spells, significantly boosting my combat strength.
Excitedly, I jumped out of bed and demonstrated the newly learned Buddhist Spell. Finding no issues with the casting technique, I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. I laughed heartily and said, "Haha! If I were to fight Liu Zhenxian now, my chances of winning would definitely be higher than his! Once I get back, I must challenge Liu Zhenxian for a sparring session."
My speed in executing the new techniques was still somewhat slow, and only through extensive practice could I improve. Among the people I knew, Liu Zhenxian was the most suitable opponent for me.
Feeling a bit impatient, I quickly finished my morning routine and took a taxi to the airport. On the way, I called Jin Yuan.
The issues Jin Yuan faced had already been resolved by me. She was busy fixing up her shop and had no time to spend with me. So when I told her about my return, she wholeheartedly approved.
By the time I got back to school, it was already past six in the evening. I called He Ying only to find out that she and Liu Zhenxian had gone out for the weekend and were not at school.
Feeling a bit down and unsure of what to do next, I received a call from Lan Yue.
I answered the phone and directly asked, "Lan Yue, have you found Wang Lei's hiding place?"
Ever since I learned that Wang Lei hadn't been eliminated by me, I had asked Lan Yue to keep an eye on his whereabouts. Only by completely resolving this hidden threat could I feel at ease.
Lan Yue's voice sounded excited as he laughed for a moment before boasting, " Brother Jiang Ling, after I tracked Wang Lei last time, he became much more cautious. He kept switching identities and used foreign proxy servers to escape my tracking, making it difficult for me to pinpoint his location.
However, he underestimated me. By following one of his identities, I managed to trace him without alarming him and discovered his location.
Brother Jiang Ling, let me ask you—am I impressive or what?"
I noticed that ever since Lan Yue started college, he had become somewhat narcissistic. Shaking my head in disbelief, I said, "Lan Yue, I know you're impressive. Stop talking nonsense and send me the location quickly. Once I deal with Wang Lei, I'll treat you to dinner. It's been a while since the four of us got together; it’s about time we did."
Lan Yue didn’t hesitate and sent the address directly to my phone. I glanced at it and realized it was only a seven or eight-minute walk from our school.
Having learned from my previous experience, I was worried that Wang Lei might escape again, so I didn’t waste any time and turned straight towards the address on my phone.
A glint flashed in my eyes as I spoke with a hint of menace, "Wang Lei, your luck has run out this time. If I catch you today, you'll get to taste my newly learned Buddhist Spell."
Before long, I arrived at the address on my phone. It was a somewhat secluded residential building. Since it was dinner time, there weren’t many pedestrians around, and the environment was quiet—perfect for taking action.
I approached the building where Wang Lei lived and could already sense the familiar eerie aura emanating from within. I was certain that Wang Lei was hiding inside this building.
"Wang Lei, let's see how you escape this time!" Without wasting any words, I drew my Demon-Subduing Staff and stepped closer to the room where Wang Lei was hiding.
In no time, I found myself at the door of Wang Lei's room. Not bothering with subtlety, I kicked the door open and charged into the room.
I scanned the room quickly and soon locked onto Wang Lei's figure. Instantly, I summoned the Buddhist Power within me, raised my Demon-Subduing Staff, and swung it towards Wang Lei while loudly chanting: "The Buddhist Sect states that all beings have spirits! Life and death are determined by fate; all things descend upon the celestial mountains and return to their homeland! Evil spirits cling to dust and harm living beings! Falling into the Suffering Sea, turning back is salvation! Summoning Buddha's Law, awaken the world with the Buddha's staff! Namo Amitabha Buddha!"
As soon as my words fell, a golden beam as thick as an arm shot out from my Demon-Subduing Staff toward Wang Lei.
At first glance, the move I just executed seemed similar to my previous techniques; however, before unleashing it, I had gathered a massive amount of Buddhist Power within the Demon-Subduing Staff using my newly learned Buddhist Spell. Once I cast the spell, its power would increase by more than three times.
"Wow, this is insane!" Watching the golden beam in the room startled me; it was truly an invincible force.
"Jiang Ling, how did you find this place? You really are relentless!" Wang Lei looked at me in surprise. He coldly uttered those words before swiftly dodging to the side in an attempt to evade the golden beam heading his way.
Wang Lei's reaction speed was astonishingly quick. Just as the golden beam was about to strike his body, he twisted away, allowing the beam to graze past him.
Wang Lei looked at me provocatively, sneering as he said, "Heh, you really are naive. Do you think such a move can hit me? You underestimate me. Since I’ve come here willingly, let me show you my current strength."
Holding two Willow Leaf Blades, Wang Lei assumed a menacing stance, preparing to charge at me.
"Heh, Wang Lei, am I too sincere or are you just foolish?" I shot him a disdainful glance and swiftly cast a Spell with my left hand. Reaching out in front of me, I shouted loudly, "Buddhist Net, loose yet impenetrable. Evil Spirits, nowhere to escape. Amitabha, Buddhist Net, capture!"
As my words fell, the golden beam that had flown past Wang Lei suddenly halted in mid-air and began to twist violently. In the blink of an eye, it transformed into a fishing net woven from golden light.
"Not good! I've fallen for it!" Wang Lei's expression darkened upon seeing the Buddhist Net; this time, it was too late for him to evade.
A fierce glint flashed in his eyes. Instead of dodging, he charged toward the light net, attempting to tear a hole in it.
From the moment I burst into the room until now, although it seemed like we had exchanged blows several times, less than ten seconds had actually passed.
"Wang Lei, don’t forget that I'm still here!" Seeing Wang Lei at a disadvantage ignited a murderous intent within me as I charged forward with my Demon-Subduing Staff.
