I had been pestering Deng Bo for quite a while, but in the end, he didn’t change his mind and simply kicked me out of the gym. I walked down the road feeling somewhat speechless, sighed, and said, “Well, it looks like life is going to be tough from now on.”
I shook my head, trying to cast aside the distracting thoughts in my mind. Although Deng Bo's arrangements were somewhat frustrating, there was a silver lining; at least I had a lot more free time to do other things.
After leaving the gym, I headed to Zhu Dongdong's dormitory to find him. It was already evening, and Zhu Dongdong and his friends had returned to school; they were probably resting in their dorms by now.
I arrived at Zhu Dongdong's dormitory door and knocked a few times, politely saying, “Senior, I’m a new student who just arrived. I have some questions I’d like to ask you.”
“Wait a moment, I’ll be right there,” came Zhu Dongdong’s voice from inside. Before long, he opened the door and stepped out. He was wearing pajamas, his hair was damp, and there were several band-aids on his face—clearly just having finished showering.
“What are you doing here?” Zhu Dongdong asked somewhat unfriendly after recognizing me. Although he didn’t remember my earlier encounter with him in the gym, my previous incident with Zhu Caini had made me somewhat notorious around school, so he still had some impression of me.
Noticing Zhu Dongdong’s unfriendly attitude, I guessed the reason behind it. I awkwardly scratched the back of my head and smiled, “Zhu Dongdong, I actually came to talk about your sister. I want to understand her daily life; would you mind sharing that with me?”
Upon hearing my words, Zhu Dongdong’s expression darkened instantly, and I sensed a surge of agitation in his aura. He glared at me coldly and without hesitation threw a punch straight at my head as he shouted loudly, “You bullied my sister! I haven’t settled the score with you yet, and you dare come here asking about her? You’re asking for trouble!”
Realizing that Zhu Dongdong’s agitation could lead to an attack, I remained on guard. As he lunged at me, I was already prepared; I raised both hands to block his right hand while saying, “Senior, it seems you’ve misunderstood. I’m not here to cause trouble for Zhu Caini; I’m actually trying to help her…”
“Enough with the nonsense! Let me teach you a lesson today! You need to know that anyone who bullies my sister is asking for death!” Zhu Dongdong interrupted me angrily. He clearly wasn’t interested in hearing my explanation. He quickly retracted his fist and stepped back two paces before launching a series of rapid kicks toward me—his momentum was two or three times stronger than his earlier punch.
Zhu Dongdong practiced Taekwondo; his most impressive skills were his leg techniques. Thanks to his Wolf Demon bloodline, not only was he incredibly fast with his kicks, but the power behind them was also significantly greater than that of an average person. It was these attributes that earned him a reputation in their academy.
“Hmph! You can take a hit! Let’s see how long you can last!” Zhu Dongdong sneered as he saw me easily fend off over ten of his flying kicks. His eyes glinted with intense coldness as he secretly channeled more of his aura; his attacks became increasingly fierce.
"Bang~~" At that moment, Zhu Dongdong delivered a flying kick to my chest, sending me flying four or five meters. I felt a sharp pain in my chest, and a trickle of fresh blood flowed from the corner of my mouth.
"Damn it, if I don't show my power, do you really think I'm easy to bully?" I wiped the blood from my mouth and stood up fiercely.
Earlier, I had suffered a bit at Deng Bo's hands, and I was already seething with anger. Now, I had come to help Zhu Dongdong's sister, but instead of gratitude, Zhu Dongdong had attacked me without hesitation.
Although I wasn't fond of fighting, Zhu Dongdong had crossed my bottom line, and I couldn't let it slide. I clasped my hands together, my expression turning solemn as I secretly summoned the Buddhist Power within me, calling forth the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation from my Dantian.
"Namo Amitabha Buddha! All beings are sentient; demons run rampant. Encourage the wicked to turn good and retreat into the Buddhist Sect. Demons wield their slaughtering knives; let them become true Buddhas. Subdue demons with Buddha's Palm, go!" As my words fell, I reached out towards Zhu Dongdong, and at that moment, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation moved as well.
I saw the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation uttering a Buddhist Mantra, raising its palm the size of a door panel and slapping it down onto Zhu Dongdong, sending him crashing against the wall.
"Hmph, you hit me earlier; now it's time for you to taste my methods," I said angrily. My inner fury couldn't be quelled by just one slap.
Thus, I controlled the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation to unleash a series of over ten slaps, leaving Zhu Dongdong searching for his teeth on the ground until all the demonic energy around him dissipated. Only then did I stop and retract the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva back into my Dantian.
Zhu Dongdong lay on the ground for about seven or eight minutes before he finally mustered enough strength to get up. He touched his swollen head like a pig's and looked at me with a pitiful expression. "Master, let's talk nicely. What do you want from me?"
Seeing Zhu Dongdong's sad eyes made me feel a bit guilty. I rubbed my nose and explained my purpose for coming here.
After listening, Zhu Dongdong looked at me in surprise and said, "So you're the master my sister was looking for? It seems my sister really has good taste. Master Jiang Ling, I'll leave my sister's matters in your hands."
Zhu Dongdong exchanged pleasantries with me before carefully recounting his previous experiences. However, since Zhu Dongdong was male and his situation differed somewhat from Zhu Caini's, I only borrowed some useful aspects without completely replicating them. Instead, I focused more on inquiring about Zhu Caini's usual health condition.
After more than an hour, I had learned enough and arranged a time for Zhu Dongdong to come over and help out.
In the following hours, I attended cultural classes at school during the day and went to He Ying's shop at night, directing Hu Yalong and Wu Jie to set up the magic circles we would need, casually letting them experience some advanced Taoist Magic.
I was busy running back and forth like this, and finally, by the morning of the third day, I had completed all the arrangements. I rubbed my temples, nodded in satisfaction, and turned to Hu Yalong and Wu Jie, trying to act cool as I said, "You two just wait and see. I'll show you what it means to be a Daoist Master."
Hu Yalong rubbed his eyes and yawned, weakly saying, " Brother Jiang Ling, stop bragging. Right now, I just want to know how much of that one million I can get."
I shot him an exasperated glance and gave his head a light knock. "Fatty, can't you just let me enjoy my moment in peace?"
