I positioned the White Alliance atop the Ghost Summoning Talisman, then bit my finger, smearing two lines of Master's Blood across the back of the White Alliance, just enough to cover the ghostly face's eyes.
I summoned the Daoist Magic within me, swiftly striking the ground with both hands to cast a spell, loudly reciting, "Earth Yin and Yang, each governs their domain. Underworld Officials, suppress the Demon God. Protect the living, let no ghosts intrude. With the Daoist Sect's sacred form, I respectfully summon the wandering deities from all directions. Exterminate Evil Spirits, restore clarity. By the decree of ghostly punishment, I command!"
As my words echoed in the air, a chilling wind swept through the Pavilion, and an ethereal figure surged forth from the talisman on the ground. This was merely a phantom of the Yin Division Ghost Messenger I had summoned; it bore some resemblance to a Ghost Messenger but lacked any true abilities.
After that phantom appeared, I took a few steps forward and temporarily merged my body with it. Controlling this apparition, I extended my right hand towards the ghostly face on the back of the White Alliance and spoke in a somber tone, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Come forth!"
Sensing danger before it, the ghostly face finally opened its eyes and revealed its true form in an attempt to resist my attack. Unfortunately for it, I had already obscured its vision with Master's Blood, leaving it unable to discern my moves and denying it any chance to counterattack.
Seeing that ghostly face make a move, I quickened my right hand's motion. My palm struck firmly against the back of the White Alliance as I grasped that ghostly face tightly. Chanting incantations under my breath, I forcibly pulled it out and shoved it into the Ghost Summoning Talisman on the ground.
The Ghost Summoning Talisman contained blood essence from the White Alliance. With my Daoist Magic enhancing it, a seal resembling the White Alliance's physical form was created, temporarily severing its connection to that ghostly face.
When I pulled out that ghostly face earlier, I sensed its cultivation level was not very high; it barely reached the Millennium Ghost General tier and posed no threat before me. However, for safety's sake, I turned to the nearby Loli and said, "Bai Meng, take the White Alliance away from here; I'll handle this ghost alone."
At that moment when I extracted the ghostly face, the White Alliance felt as if it had been hollowed out; its body became weak and could barely stand without collapsing.
Bai Meng nodded at me. She summoned a strand of demonic energy from within her to wrap around the White Alliance's body and quickly dashed outside of the Pavilion. Without looking back, she called out to me, "Jiang Ling, this friend will stick with me from now on; you don't need to worry about him. With me protecting him, no one will dare bully him."
Hearing Bai Meng's words sent a wave of unease through me. I quickly turned around and chased after her, shouting loudly, "Bai Meng! Stop right there! Give me back the White Alliance!"
The White Alliance looked up at me with a smile and waved his hand. He said, "Jiang Ling, there's no need to chase after me; I'm going willingly with my boss. I'll take care of myself. If fate allows it, we'll meet again."
Loli turned to look at me, a wicked smile spreading across her face as she said, "By the way, Jiang Ling, I forgot to tell you. When I came out just now, I accidentally stepped on a large piece of the talisman outside the Pavilion. I don't know what effect it will have, so you should probably check it out. Remember to send me my living expenses on time; we're leaving now."
Bai Meng waved at me, and with her group of Water Monkeys beside her, they quickly jumped into the river, creating a splash before disappearing from sight.
I glanced back and noticed that the formation outside the Pavilion had been trampled, leaving a series of footprints. The vermilion ink drawn on the ground was in disarray; all my previous efforts in setting up the formation had gone to waste.
Analyzing the marks on the ground, it was clear that Bai Meng's subordinates were responsible. Ordinary people wouldn't affect the talismans even if they stepped on them. The formation I had set up only worked against spirits, so even a little demonic energy could destroy the talismans on the ground.
I shook my head with a bitter smile and returned inside the Pavilion. Looking in the direction where Bai Meng had vanished, I muttered to myself, "This Bai Meng really is more of a hindrance than a help. I should deal with this Soul first and find time later to catch up with Bai Meng and the others."
After a moment, a crack appeared in the Ghost Summoning Talisman on the ground, about the size of a finger. The ghostly face was struggling to break free from its seal.
"I'll send you on your way!" A cold killing intent flashed in my eyes as I bit down hard on my tongue, spraying some Tongue Blood onto the Sabre in my hand. Then I infused my Daoist Magic into the Sabre, quickly casting several Spells with my left hand while chanting loudly: "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Supreme Three Pure Ones, Daoist Guardian! Grant me Daoist Arts, bestow upon me Blood Demon! Exorcism Technique, Dao Blood Extermination! Sacrificial Dao Blood, eradicate Evil Spirit! Supreme Old Lord, hasten as per command!"
As my words fell, I swung the Sabre down towards the ghostly face on the ground. A red sword aura resembling a Blood Demon shot out from the Sabre and struck the ghostly face, slicing it in half.
However, one strike wasn't enough to vanquish that spirit. So I summoned more of my Daoist Magic and swung the Sabre again at the ghostly face.
In less than ten seconds, I unleashed seven sword strikes in succession. The Sabre couldn't withstand the force of my Daoist Magic and shattered into fragments. Under my relentless assault, the ghostly face was reduced to wisps of scattered soul energy, teetering on the brink of annihilation.
The ghostly face glared at me with hatred and used its remaining strength to shout, "Stinky Taoist! How dare you ruin my plans and destroy my split soul? I Luo Hailiang will not let you off!"
I cast a disdainful glance at that ghostly face and replied coldly, "Please, who are you trying to scare? I know your main soul is deep in Baishan Village. If you want to cause trouble for me, feel free to come at me. You Evil Cultivators still dare to refine Corpse Oil Lamps? I haven't settled accounts with you yet."
I recalled the previous description of the White Alliance and guessed that this ghostly face was likely just a mark left by the Soul accompanying him. Now it seemed that the situation was exactly as I had anticipated.
Since I had already made enemies with the forces deep in the mountains, I didn't mind offending one more person. I bit my finger and quickly drew a talisman in my palm. Clapping my hands, I directed it toward the ghostly face and shouted loudly, "Separation Fire, descend! Exterminate the spirits! Evil spirits blocking the way, turn to dust! Lingling, Earth Spirit, Supreme Old Lord, heed my command! Separation Fire Talisman, decree!"
As my voice fell, a fireball the size of a fist appeared in my palm, instantly igniting that ghostly face, which turned to ashes in the blink of an eye.
