"Since I've found these Corpse Oil Solutions, I certainly can't let them go to waste." I reached out and tapped the two porcelain jars in front of me, already formulating a plan in my mind. Although these Corpse Oil Solutions weren't particularly useful to me, they would be a great boon for the Ghost Messengers of the Underworld, potentially even enhancing their cultivation directly.
"I haven't managed my relationship with those Ghost Messengers well before, but now that I have these valuable items, I might be able to befriend one or two of them. If I venture into the Ghost Realm again in the future, I might even be able to borrow some power." I muttered to myself as I continued my actions. Taking out a brush dipped in Cinnabar from my belongings, I began to inscribe summoning talismans around the two jars.
The brush and Cinnabar were things I had purchased during a stroll in the county town, originally intending to draw some protective talismans for Hou Libang and the others later that night. I hadn't expected them to come in handy so soon.
"Yin-Yang Realms, separated by life and death. Protecting the Yang soul, safeguarding the Yin spirit. Souls speak not of life or death by fate; ghostly spirits do not speak of fortune or misfortune. Daoist Master, I respectfully invite the Ghost Messenger. With utmost reverence, I welcome the Ghost Messenger's arrival. Command!" I infused my Daoist Magic into the hundreds of talismans on the ground, connecting them all together. As my words fell, the talismans emitted an eerie black light, enveloping the entire room in an absolute darkness.
"Meow~~" The Black Cats were inherently sensitive to evil spirit energy. The moment the black light appeared, they let out terrified screams and quickly darted out of the house.
"Bang~~" Just after all the Black Cats had left, the door of the house suddenly slammed shut with a loud bang, leaving me alone inside.
Seeing what was happening before me, I rubbed my chin thoughtfully, my brows knitting tightly together. I had summoned Ghost Messengers before and was familiar with their manifestation methods; this scene clearly did not seem normal. My mind raced as I analyzed the possible outcomes.
Suddenly, a chilling wind swept through the room, followed by a series of childish giggles echoing around me. A boy's voice rang in my ear: "Hehe, this is so much fun! Sister, isn't it great? Should we teach this stinky Daoist Arts a lesson?"
I raised an eyebrow; that voice sounded somewhat familiar, but I couldn't place it right away. Quickly, I activated my Yin-Yang Eyes and looked in the direction from which the voice came.
Despite the pitch-blackness of the room where I couldn't see my hand in front of my face, activating my Yin-Yang Eyes allowed me to discern the general situation inside.
"Damn it, it's you two ghosts! Yang Guanghua, what are you planning to do with that jar? Do you believe I'll knock you out?" Using my Yin-Yang Eyes, I spotted two Ghost Messengers standing not far away—Yang Guanghua and Fang, whom I'd rescued back at home. However, they had been taken away by Wu Ke-Pan back then, and I had no idea what had happened to them afterward.
At that moment, Yang Guanghua was holding a jar as big as his head and was only three steps away from me. He wore a mischievous grin as he looked at me; judging by his posture, he definitely intended to smash that jar over my head.
"Hey, Stinky Taoist, do you remember us? Well, I'm here to get my revenge on you. Prepare yourself!" Yang Guanghua shouted with a wicked grin as he raised the jar in his hand and swung it forcefully towards my head.
I frowned, ready to teach Yang Guanghua a lesson when Fang suddenly moved. She transformed into a white shadow and appeared in front of me, intercepting the jar mid-air. Fang looked a bit embarrassed as she smiled at me and said, "Jiang Ling Master, my brother just likes to play pranks. You don't need to take it to heart. We owe our current fortune to Master’s kindness back then."
With that, Fang set the jar down and respectfully bowed to me. Although Yang Guanghua seemed reluctant to acknowledge me, he also performed a bow under Fang's insistence.
I nodded calmly, accepting their greetings. As the saying goes, every cause has its effect. I had previously entrusted them to Wu Ke-Pan, which was the cause; now they had become Ghost Messengers and were here to thank me, which was the effect.
I carefully observed the aura around Yang Guanghua and Fang and discovered that both of them had reached the peak of Century Ghost cultivation and were showing signs of breaking through to Millennium Ghost General cultivation.
In just two or three months, their cultivation had reached such heights; they truly were remarkable beings of the Yin spirit.
Fang looked at me politely and asked, "Jiang Ling Master, may I ask why you summoned us this time?"
I pointed to the two jars in the room and replied in a calm tone, "These jars contain Corpse Oil Solution. If you consume this Corpse Oil Solution, you should be able to break through to the Millennium Ghost General level. You can take your time here; I have other places to go and will find you again when I have time."
With that, I turned and opened the door to the room, found a shared bicycle parked by the roadside, and continued riding toward the hotel.
The jars inside the house were inscribed with seals that contained their energy, so Yang Guanghua and Fang had not noticed the presence of Corpse Oil Solution inside.
Upon hearing my words, Yang Guanghua immediately reached out to lift the seal off one of the jars. A thick wave of Evil Qi surged out, filling the entire room. At that moment, Fang also opened another jar's seal; however, instead of Corpse Oil Solution, it contained a pile of greasy Corpse Oil Ointment.
Yang Guanghua opened all the jars in the room. Seeing them filled with Corpse Oil Solution made his face light up with excitement. He grabbed Fang's hand and exclaimed, "Sister, that Stinky Taoist is truly our lucky star! The last time we encountered him, we became intern Ghost Messengers in the Underworld; this time we’ve received so much Corpse Oil Solution and Corpse Oil Ointment. If we consume these things, we can definitely advance to Millennium Ghost General level. Then we can participate in the formal Ghost Messenger trial!"
Fang tapped Yang Guanghua on the head and pouted, "Brother, if you keep calling Jiang Ling Master 'Stinky Taoist,' I won't talk to you anymore. Jiang Ling Master is our great Savior."
"Alright, alright, I won't call him 'Stinky Taoist' anymore. Is that okay?" Yang Guanghua rubbed his head and shook it helplessly. After exchanging a few more words with Fang, they both jumped into the porcelain jar in the room, eagerly devouring the Evil Qi inside.
Meanwhile, things were not looking good for Hou Libang and his group. When Wu Yong laid out Elder Cai's trading conditions in full, the greed in the eyes of the thugs intensified. They looked at Hou Libang not as a person but as a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
At that moment, one of the leaders behind Ma Yiwen stepped forward. He looked at Hou Libang's head and excitedly asked, "Boss, what should we do now? This fat guy is right here; if we take him out, the Corpse Oil Solution and Corpse Oil Ointment will all be ours."
