Wu Shi was the tallest in the College of Civil Engineering, standing at an impressive height. He charged directly at me, like a massive mountain bearing down, his momentum fierce. If an ordinary person faced Wu Shi, they would likely be defeated by his frontal assault.
However, Wu Shi's attack had no effect on me. I watched him approach with calm composure, lightly shaking my head as I said, "Big Brother, the most important thing in a cockfight is balance. Charging straight at me like that makes it easy for you to fall."
Wu Shi scoffed dismissively, pride swelling within him as he looked into my eyes. "Buddy, I've participated in five cockfights before, and no one has ever beaten me. You should try to block my attack first."
Before I knew it, Wu Shi was right in front of me. He jumped lightly, grabbing his left ankle with both hands and swung his left foot down towards me with reckless abandon.
"Bang!" A loud crash echoed as I stood my ground, taking the full force of Wu Shi's left foot attack without dodging.
"Ah! Why does it hurt so much? You didn't strap iron plates inside your pants, did you?" Wu Shi cried out in agony, his face turning pale and cold sweat beading on his forehead. His left foot had struck me but didn’t produce the result he expected; instead, it felt like he had hit something incredibly hard, causing him to gasp in pain.
My left foot tingled slightly from the impact. In truth, when Wu Shi attacked, I had secretly summoned my Buddhist Power and concentrated some of it around my left foot, forming a protective barrier similar to a Vajra Shield. With this layer of protection, I managed to withstand Wu Shi's attack; otherwise, I would have indeed been defeated by his strike.
I feigned an expression of utter ease and shook my left foot arrogantly at Wu Shi. "To knock me down, you still need a bit more strength. Now it's my turn to attack you."
Seizing the moment while Wu Shi was stunned, I jumped up and raised my left foot high before bringing it down forcefully onto him.
My speed was too quick; I seized the opportunity perfectly. By the time Wu Shi reacted, he had no chance to evade. After we exchanged another kick, his expression turned pained. I saw him shudder as he released his grip and reluctantly lowered his raised left foot.
The onlookers gasped at the scene unfolding before them and began to murmur excitedly. One student from the College of Civil Engineering exclaimed loudly, "No way! Wu Shi actually couldn't take it! How is this possible? I've never seen Wu Shi lose after so many fights!"
The two new girls watching also became animated. They had initially thought I would be beaten up by everyone present and end up looking like a pig's head. But upon seeing me defeat Wu Shi, their attitudes shifted dramatically as they anxiously called out to their teammates who had been sent into the fray: "Cai Ni Jie! Hurry up and fight back! Don’t let him take you down one by one!"
The only harmonious atmosphere was found in our Sports Academy, the Military Training Team. At first, the freshmen had little faith in me, but now that they had seen me defeat Wu Shi, a glimmer of hope ignited in their hearts. Their faces lit up with excitement as they shouted, "Jiang Ling, go for it! Whether we survive today's practice depends on you. You have to win!"
Upon hearing the cheers around him, Wu Shi sighed and turned to the two people beside him. He said earnestly, "Lei Yunguang, Liu Yongtong, it's up to you now. This person is strong; I advise you to work together."
"Wu Shi, don't worry. We will avenge you. Victory belongs to our College of Civil Engineering," Lei Yunguang and Liu Yongtong nodded. They had been standing right next to me earlier, but the fight between Wu Shi and me had ended so quickly that they hadn't had a chance to intervene.
"Stay focused, and don't let your guard down," Wu Shi said seriously before dejectedly stepping aside to give them space.
Neither Lei Yunguang nor Liu Yongtong were arrogant types. Having witnessed my strength earlier, they exchanged a glance and coordinated their attack from both sides.
I secretly summoned my Buddhist Power, allowing a layer of golden light to envelop my body. Even if I stood still, it would be impossible for Lei Yunguang and Liu Yongtong to knock me down.
As I glanced at the two approaching me, I felt a bit embarrassed and rubbed my ear. "Brothers, I must secure first place in this competition. So, I'm sorry."
With that, I shifted my body and transformed into a blur, charging swiftly towards Liu Yongtong. I had no intention of holding back; I raised my left foot and struck hard at his left foot.
"Ah! What’s going on? Why is your strength so great?" Liu Yongtong lacked the balance that Wu Shi possessed. After taking my left kick head-on, he stumbled and fell to the ground, unable to muster the strength to get back up.
"Get down! Victory will only belong to our College of Civil Engineering!" At that moment, Lei Yunguang had stealthily approached from behind me. He shouted loudly and leaped into action, swinging his left foot directly at my back.
If he hit me, no matter how strong my defenses were, it would disrupt my balance and send me crashing to the ground.
Fortunately, I had been keeping an eye on Lei Yunguang's movements. The instant he launched his surprise attack, I turned around and charged toward him proactively.
"Bang~~" A loud noise erupted in front of me, and the outcome of this cockfight was already beyond doubt. Although Lei Yunguang had gained a slight advantage from his earlier ambush, he only managed to hold out for a dozen moves before I knocked him down to the ground.
Once the three members of the College of Civil Engineering had retreated, I finally let out a sigh of relief. Turning to the Sisters beside me, I beckoned them with my finger and said, "Phew, you six can make your move now!"
