They discussed among themselves, and each returned to lead their respective teams, gathering all the new students together, leaving half a basketball court empty in the middle.
The new students, seeing the situation before them, instantly understood what was about to happen after a few days of training.
A few Cute Girls plopped down on the ground, completely disregarding their image. With happy expressions on their faces, they exclaimed, "Wow, I didn't expect to see the competition between the four teams again! We can rest for a few more minutes; this is so blissful!"
However, not everyone was so cheerful. The new students from our school looked dejected, shaking their heads and sighing as they said, "Sigh, what a tough life. If we don't win today, we'll probably be trained to death by that pervert Wang Yasheng."
Those around them nodded in agreement. After losing the match yesterday afternoon, Wang Yasheng had put us through an extremely harsh training session with a smile on his face. He corrected our standing posture down to the centimeter; if anyone's posture was off by even a centimeter, he would correct each person individually until everyone was aligned perfectly before he would stop.
Last night's experience left a shadow in the hearts of everyone in our team. Even I felt uncomfortable from Wang Yasheng's rigorous training methods.
I kept an eye on Wang Yasheng and his team. When I saw the four Military Training Teams starting to move, I stood up from the ground and walked over to Wang Yasheng.
Noticing my approach, Wang Yasheng greeted me with a friendly smile. He patted my arm and said with a grin, "Jiang Ling, this time it's up to you. If you can't secure first place for our team, then we'll just have to stand at attention for two hours later. What do you think?"
Seeing the expression on Wang Yasheng's face sent chills down my spine. I quickly saluted him and replied earnestly, "Don't worry, Instructor Wang. I will definitely get first place for our team; I won't let everyone down."
Wang Yasheng nodded in satisfaction and led me to the empty space in the middle. The other three instructors approached us with three new students behind them.
The three instructors turned their gazes toward me, curiously sizing me up before speaking to Wang Yasheng. "Hey, Wang Yasheng, you really sent this new student out to compete? When did you become so confident?"
Wang Yasheng raised an eyebrow and calmly replied, "For dealing with your weaklings, one person is more than enough."
Just now, Wang Yasheng and the other three instructors discussed and decided to hold a three-on-three chicken fighting competition. Each Military Training Team would send three participants. Of course, to ensure fairness, it was allowed for the girls to join only when there was just one boy left on their team.
Although Wang Yasheng knew the rules of the competition, he still only let me participate alone. I couldn't tell if he had too much faith in my abilities or if there was another reason behind it.
Seeing that Wang Yasheng had no intention of changing his mind, the three instructors didn't waste any time. They quickly briefed the new students around them and then stepped aside, leaving the center space for the ten of us.
The three new students from the College of Civil Engineering were all tall and muscular, clearly individuals who exercised regularly.
One of them walked over to me and stopped about five steps away. He said, "Hey man, since you’re alone, we won’t gang up on you. We’ll take turns challenging you one by one. Let’s have two of us start first."
I felt a bit embarrassed hearing his words. My strength was already far superior to theirs; even if they all came at me together, I could easily handle them. I awkwardly cleared my throat, shook my head, and replied, "Thanks for your kindness, but you guys don’t need to hold back. Just come at me all at once; otherwise, you won’t win."
I waved over to the Six Girls nearby and somewhat boastfully said, "By the way, Sister over there, you can join too. I’m going to take on nine of them by myself."
As soon as my words fell, the new students around us erupted in an uproar. The Civil Engineering students pointed at my head and shouted angrily, "What the hell? Who does this guy think he is? Wu Shi, Lei Yunguang, Liu Yongtong, you three go take him down! Teach this show-off a lesson!"
The girls nearby looked at me with confusion; however, they didn’t urge their classmates to attack me. Instead, they pointed and whispered among themselves, "How long do you think this guy can last?"
One girl said seriously, "He looks pretty soft; he can last at most thirty seconds. Just wait and see."
Our classmates stared at me in disbelief. They had already felt half defeated seeing that I was the only one competing; now hearing my words made them feel completely hopeless. They shook their heads and sighed, lamenting, "Looks like we’re going to get drilled by Wang Yasheng again this time. Jiang Ling is crazy; he’s trying to get us killed!"
Wang Yasheng's gaze turned sharp as he looked at me; his smile suddenly vanished. He coldly muttered to himself, "Hmph, Jiang Ling, if you enjoy showing off so much and don’t win this time, I’ll make sure you get some serious training."
The onlooking freshmen erupted in excitement, especially the nine on the field. Among them, the three from the College of Civil Engineering wore expressions of anger. They had just wanted to give me a chance, but they never expected that I would refuse and even provoke them.
"Very well, since you don't want to win, we won't hold back. Brothers, let's show this kid what we're made of." The three Civil Engineering students exchanged glances and took their stances, hopping towards me.
The Six Girls nearby did not immediately join the fray; instead, they curiously watched me, eager to see my skills.
Noticing that the Six Girls had no intention of intervening, I shook my head lightly and muttered to myself, "I gave you a chance, but you didn't seize it. So don't blame me for not warning you later."
With that, I took my stance as well, a glint of determination flashing in my eyes as I faced the three Civil Engineering students charging at me.
