Upon hearing Lan Yue's urgent cries for help, Hu Yalong quickly opened his eyes and looked in her direction.
"Lan Yue, what are those things following you?" Hu Yalong felt a chill run down his spine as he saw the Human Skin Evil Spirits chasing after her. Although fear gripped his heart, he forced himself to stay calm. He reached into his backpack and pulled out two Peach Wood Swords, along with a handful of talismans, before standing up from the ground.
Having spent time with Qian Duoduo, Hu Yalong hadn't learned Taoist Magic, but he knew some basic methods to deal with Ghostly Beings. That was why he rummaged through his backpack for anything useful.
He handed one of the Peach Wood Swords to Lan Yue and split the talismans in half, giving her some as well. With a serious expression, he said to her, "Lan Yue, take these for protection. I'll test the strength of these spirits first. If I can't handle them, wake up Brother Jiang Ling."
With that, Hu Yalong charged towards the nearest Human Skin Evil Spirit wielding his Peach Wood Sword. Meanwhile, Lan Yue nervously held her Peach Wood Sword close to me, glancing at me with concern as she urged, " Brother Jiang Ling, you need to wake up quickly; otherwise, Fatty is going to die at the hands of those spirits."
On the other side, Hu Yalong swung his Peach Wood Sword at the closest Human Skin Evil Spirit. Since he had no training in Taoist Magic, his attacks were merely basic strikes and did not showcase his true potential. Otherwise, with Hu Yalong's current cultivation level, he could at least be considered a novice of a Daoist Sect.
"Hey, you Fatty! You don't even know Taoist Magic and dare to stand in my way? You're asking for trouble," Ge Bing sneered at Hu Yalong. He waved his hand at the surrounding Human Skin Evil Spirits and commanded, "Go kill this Fatty without mercy. He’s so ugly; I have no intention of skinning him alive."
"Roar~~" The Human Skin Evil Spirits let out chilling howls as they lunged towards Hu Yalong with claws bared. The entire area was instantly filled with an eerie aura that dropped the temperature significantly.
The Human Skin Evil Spirits were all at least Century Ghost level in cultivation. Even facing one alone was beyond Hu Yalong's capability; now that over ten were attacking him simultaneously, he was utterly terrified.
"Damn it! If you have the guts, fight me one-on-one! What’s with this group attack?" Hu Yalong shouted defiantly despite his fear. However, his body betrayed him as he threw the talismans at the approaching Human Skin Evil Spirits and ran back toward me while clutching his Peach Wood Sword.
The talismans Hu Yalong threw were high-level ones I had prepared earlier. Even without magical activation, they ignited upon contact with the eerie aura of the Human Skin Evil Spirits and transformed into white Taoist Magic that surged towards them.
"Roar~~" The Human Skin Evil Spirits were caught off guard and three of them were instantly slain by the talismans, while others sustained minor injuries.
Ge Bing's expression darkened as he shot a murderous glance at Hu Yalong. In a grim tone, he said, "Fatty, how dare you ruin my servant? I will make you regret this. Just wait."
"Children, kill them!" Ge Bing commanded the Human Skin Evil Spirits once more. The eerie aura surrounding the spirits surged violently as they conjured sharp weapons made of the same aura. Gripping these weapons tightly, they charged toward us.
Although I was absorbing the eerie aura within my mind, my consciousness remained clear, and I was fully aware of what was happening around me.
After two or three minutes, Hu Yalong and Lan Yue had exhausted all the talismans in their possession, and their Peach Wood Swords had been broken by the Ghostly Beings. Now, both Hu Yalong and Lan Yue bore numerous Blood Demon marks from being torn by the Human Skin Evil Spirits, yet they did not retreat even an inch, standing firm in front of me as they awaited my awakening.
Seeing Hu Yalong and Lan Yue in such a state caused a sharp pain in my heart. I wanted to open my eyes, but the Evil Qi within me prevented any movement. After several attempts proved futile, I directly addressed Dog Treasure, saying, "Dog Treasure, I'll leave these Human Skin Evil Spirits to you. I need more time to awaken."
"Woof Woof~~" Dog Treasure had now become an Eternal Ghost King, with intelligence comparable to that of a normal person. Upon receiving my command, it immediately flew out from my side. A surge of black ghostly aura erupted from its mask, transforming into a massive evil dog radiating an aura close to that of an Eternal Ghost King.
"Woof Woof~~" Once Dog Treasure revealed its true form, it let out a roar and lunged at the Human Skin Evil Spirits before it. The spirits appeared as helpless shrimp in front of Dog Treasure, which swiftly bit one to death and crushed another with a paw.
Originally there were over ten Human Skin Evil Spirits, but as soon as Dog Treasure struck, it wiped out more than half of them. Only six managed to escape; they looked on in terror at Dog Treasure. Despite Ge Bing's commands urging them forward, they dared not take a single step closer.
Upon seeing Dog Treasure appear, Ge Bing initially dismissed it. However, when he sensed the powerful aura emanating from Dog Treasure, panic flashed in his eyes. He stealthily took several steps back while muttering, "Where did this Eternal Ghost King come from? Could it be that this Stinky Taoist has two Eternal Ghost Kings? Hmph, consider yourselves lucky this time; I'll let you go."
Ge Bing had no intention of caring for the fate of the Human Skin Evil Spirits. Seizing the moment while Dog Treasure was distracted, he decisively chose to flee. However, Lan Yue had been keeping a close watch on Ge Bing's movements from the beginning. As soon as Ge Bing attempted to escape, Lan Yue charged at him and shouted loudly, "Ge Bing! You killed my brother Li Hongze! Where do you think you're going? Stop right there!"
