The two Ghostly Beings had already cultivated to the level of Millennium Ghost Generals. Even in the Ghost Realm, they could be considered above average. Yet now, they were merely guarding the entrance, making it hard to imagine what kind of danger lurked within this establishment.
The Millennium Ghost General to my left held a trident formed from Eerie Aura. He raised the imposing Ghost Weapon high and swiftly thrust it toward my head, boasting arrogantly, "Hmph, Stinky Taoist, you dare to challenge both of us at once? You really are asking for death. Very well, since you wish to die so badly, I shall grant your wish."
To my right stood another Millennium Ghost General wielding a slender sword. A sinister smile crept across his face as he approached me leisurely, chuckling to the other Millennium Ghost General, "Hehe, this Taoist looks tender and delicious. Old Lin, be careful not to ruin his body too much; otherwise, he won't taste good."
I glanced at the Millennium Ghost General and frowned slightly, a hint of killing intent bubbling up inside me. With both Millennium Ghosts attacking simultaneously, I found myself flustered and unsure of which one to deal with first. I could only defend against their onslaught while slowly retreating.
"Heh heh, Stinky Taoist, aren't you supposed to be impressive? Why are you just dodging now? If you have the guts, face me head-on," the Millennium Ghost General wielding the trident, Lin Junpeng, taunted. Seeing me retreat continuously only fueled his arrogance; he clearly regarded me as insignificant.
Lin Junpeng turned to the other Millennium Ghost General beside him with a relaxed expression and said with a grin, "Wei Penghui, step aside. I'll handle this Stinky Taoist. Just watch from the sidelines; if anything unexpected happens, you can jump in."
Wei Penghui nodded and indeed sheathed his Ghost Weapon sword before stepping back a few paces. He casually remarked, "Old Lin, be careful not to trip over yourself. Hehe, this Stinky Taoist has some tricks up his sleeve; he destroyed one of Evil Insect Master's corpses. You should be cautious."
Lin Junpeng scoffed dismissively and sneered, "Hmph, what is Evil Insect Master? Just a coward who raises insects. If he dares to show up in front of me, I could easily crush his corpse with a single slap."
From their conversation, I had already guessed their origins. They were clearly familiar with Evil Insect Master; if I wasn't mistaken, they must hail from Ten Thousand Evil Hall.
"Could it be that old man who lost the Soul Nourishing Stone is coming after me?" I muttered to myself as I took advantage of the moment when the two Millennium Ghost Generals weren't attacking to quickly scan my surroundings. However, I found no sign of that sinister old man.
"Stinky Taoist! You dare look around like that? You think so little of me, Lin Junpeng?" Seizing the moment I was distracted, Lin Junpeng lunged forward with his trident Ghost Weapon aimed straight at my chest.
Lin Junpeng's speed was astonishing and his strength immense. By the time I reacted, the formidable trident was merely half a meter from my chest. It was too late for me to dodge. Gritting my teeth, I summoned my Daoist Magic and raised my Rusty Sword and Demon-Subduing Staff in front of me as a shield.
"Poof~~" Although I blocked the trident and prevented it from piercing my chest, the immense force transmitted from it still sent me flying. A sharp pain shot through my chest, and I felt a sweetness in my throat as a mouthful of fresh blood erupted from my lips.
"Haha, Stinky Taoist, so you’re this weak? I really don’t know how you managed to destroy the corpse of Evil Insect Master. Hehe, let me send you on your way." Lin Junpeng's smile grew increasingly brazen as he saw my disheveled state. He swaggered toward me with the Ghost Weapon in hand, completely unconcerned that I might turn and flee.
Looking at Lin Junpeng's smug expression, a flash of killing intent crossed my eyes. I got up from the ground and stood my ground, glaring coldly at him. As if I had ever planned to run away! I had simply been unprepared earlier, which was why I had suffered a setback. Now, I was ready to unleash my true killer move to eliminate Lin Junpeng, who was nothing more than an easy target.
"You’re Lin Junpeng, right? Remember my name: Jiang Ling. I am a Taoist Master who will one day slay you, and also a Buddhist Monk. You better remember it well because soon you’ll be left in utter despair." I spoke calmly to Lin Junpeng before me. The blood I had spat out earlier now stained the Rusty Sword in my hand, making it look like a blood sword. Meanwhile, I secretly channeled Daoist Magic within me, infusing strands of it into the Rusty Sword.
Upon hearing my words, Lin Junpeng's smile vanished without a trace. His expression darkened as an eerie aura enveloped him. He swung the trident toward my head while shouting loudly, "Stinky Taoist! How dare you talk tough when death is imminent? Watch me smash you into meat paste!"
Seeing the Ghost Weapon coming at me, I felt no panic. Calmly, I raised the Rusty Sword in front of me and quickly cast several Spells with my left hand while chanting: "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Supreme Three Pure Ones, Daoist Guardian! Grant me Daoist Arts, bestow upon me Blood Demon! Exorcism Technique, Dao Blood Extermination! Sacrificial Dao Blood, eradicate Evil Spirit! Supreme Old Lord, hasten your command!"
As soon as my words fell, a blood-colored sword aura emanated from the Rusty Sword. That sword aura sliced through Lin Junpeng's Ghost Weapon and relentlessly struck toward his body.
"How can this be! Why is this Stinky Taoist using such powerful techniques!" Lin Junpeng cried out in despair; he had no time to dodge and could only watch helplessly as his body was cleaved in two by the Blood Demon-colored sword aura.
"Whoosh~~" The blood-colored sword aura passed through Lin Junpeng's body, stirring up a gust of chilling wind. In an instant, his soul dissipated into the air as the wind swept by.
