The next morning, after I finished breakfast, I called Zhao Sanbao to check on him. When I learned that he hadn't seen Su Xianwu's ghost again last night, I was already certain that Su Xianwu's spirit had been eliminated by someone.
Although I didn't know who had destroyed Su Xianwu's soul, as long as they didn't come to provoke me, I wouldn't actively investigate the matter further. After giving Zhao Sanbao a few reminders, I hung up the phone.
He Ying and I walked into a shop that sold talismans. I saw He Ying pull out a cardboard box from under the counter and slam it down in front of me with a grin. "Jiang Ling, this is the talisman you need to draw today. Finish it quickly; otherwise, if customers come in later, we won't have any talismans to sell."
After that, He Ying took out her phone and glanced at me with a puzzled expression. "Jiang Ling, where's Liu Zhenxian? Call him out; I want to play Honor of Kings with him."
Just as He Ying finished speaking, before I could even take the Soul Nourishing Stone out of my backpack, Liu Zhenxian's spirit flew out from inside the bag, casually holding the phone he had grabbed from there.
Waving the phone in his hand, Liu Zhenxian stood in front of He Ying and smiled. "He Ying, let's get started. Don't worry; I won't let you down today."
He Ying pulled Liu Zhenxian to sit at the entrance of the shop, and they immediately began playing Honor of Kings. It wasn't long before He Ying started berating Liu Zhenxian for messing up. Liu Zhenxian knew he had let her down but only smiled without retorting; the scene looked quite heartwarming.
Watching them both, I shook my head in disbelief and sighed, "I never thought I'd end up being a laborer; what a hard life."
Though I complained a bit, I still took the talisman paper out of the box and began drawing the talismans quickly.
After three hours, my right hand was nearly too sore to lift, and my internal Daoist Magic was running low. Finally, I completed all the talisman papers in that box.
I checked the time; it was already eleven in the morning. However, not many people had come to buy talismans today; so far, we had only sold a little over ten.
I arranged the talismans neatly on the shelf and rubbed my aching right wrist as I walked over to where He Ying and Liu Zhenxian were playing their game.
I had just been standing for a short while when Wu Jie suddenly walked into the shop. He looked into my eyes and smiled, saying, "Master Jiang Ling, I'm here. Do you have some time today? Can you teach me a few moves of Taoist Magic?"
I shot Wu Jie a glance and replied without hesitation, "I don't have time. You should just go back."
After that, I ignored Wu Jie and continued watching He Ying and Liu Zhenxian play their game. Honor of Kings looked quite interesting; although I hadn't played it before, I was deeply captivated after watching it a few times.
Wu Jie followed my gaze and, upon realizing that He Ying and the others were playing Honor of Kings, a smug smile appeared on his face. He patted his chest and declared, "Master Jiang Ling, I'm the strongest in the game, ranked twenty-seventh in the entire server. If you teach me a few moves of Taoist Magic, I can take you to new heights."
As an online streamer, Wu Jie primarily broadcasted his gameplay of Honor of Kings. His impressive skills had attracted a large following.
I glanced at Wu Jie in surprise but shook my head resolutely. "Wu Jie, don't waste your breath. My Taoist Magic was taught to me by my master. Without his permission, I won't pass it on to anyone else. So you might as well give up."
Hearing my words, Wu Jie shook his head in disappointment.
At that moment, Liu Zhenxian suddenly looked up at Wu Jie and calmly said, "As long as you take us both to victory in the game, I can teach you a few moves of Taoist Magic."
"Is that for real?" Wu Jie's expression turned excited as he turned to Liu Zhenxian beside He Ying. Until now, all his attention had been on me, so he hadn't really noticed Liu Zhenxian next to him. Now that he looked at Liu Zhenxian, he finally noticed something unusual about him.
Because Wu Jie had activated his Wisdom Eye, he could see a faint Eerie Aura emanating from Liu Zhenxian and noticed that there was no shadow beneath Liu Zhenxian's feet, further confirming his suspicions.
"Ghost... you're a ghost! Master Jiang Ling, he's a ghost! You have to get rid of him quickly!" Wu Jie exclaimed in fright, his face turning pale as he hurriedly hid behind me, too scared to approach Liu Zhenxian near the shop's entrance.
He Ying flashed a sunny smile at Wu Jie and gently reassured him, "Wu Jie, don’t be afraid. Liu Zhenxian is not an Evil Spirit; he won’t harm you."
I shot Wu Jie a disapproving glance, saying disdainfully, "Wu Jie, with your level of courage, do you really think you can learn Taoist Magic to catch ghosts? I think you should just give it up."
Wu Jie felt a bit embarrassed by my remark. He scratched the back of his head and, after realizing that Liu Zhenxian meant no harm, he finally relaxed.
Wu Jie scrutinized Liu Zhenxian carefully, then furrowed his brow and asked me in confusion, "Master Jiang Ling, aren't Ghostly Beings supposed to avoid appearing when the Yang Qi is strong in the morning? Why is this Liu Zhenxian unaffected?"
I patiently explained to Wu Jie, "Liu Zhenxian is not an ordinary Ghostly Being; he has become powerful enough to not fear the morning's Yang Qi, so he can naturally manifest."
Wu Jie had only activated his Wisdom Eye, and since Liu Zhenxian had suppressed his Eerie Aura, he couldn't sense Liu Zhenxian's strength.
Liu Zhenxian looked up at Wu Jie again and said calmly, "So, do you really want to learn Taoist Magic or not? I can tell you this: if you keep hesitating, I might change my mind."
Although Wu Jie wanted to learn Taoist Magic, he didn't believe that a Ghostly Being could teach him. So he turned to me with a conflicted expression and asked, "Master Jiang Ling, can he really teach me Taoist Magic?"
I nodded and replied, "Wu Jie, rest assured. Liu Zhenxian was a master of the Daoist Sect in his lifetime; he knows more Taoist Magic than I do. Even though he's dead now, teaching you a few tricks will be a piece of cake for him."
Upon hearing my words, Wu Jie's eyes lit up with excitement. He eagerly took out his phone and leaned closer to Liu Zhenxian with a grin, saying, "Master Liu Zhenxian, let's get started right away. Don't worry; I'll definitely lead you all to victory!"
