I had lunch with He Ying for almost an hour before we returned to the front of her shop.
"What are these people doing? Why are they gathered here?" He Ying exclaimed as she saw a large crowd, at least forty or fifty people, surrounding her shop. With a stern expression, she marched over to the group and shouted, "Everyone move aside! Why are you blocking the front of my shop? Clear out!"
Although He Ying was just a girl, she had learned martial arts from her mother and was even more skilled than I was. She pushed her way into the crowd, effortlessly shoving people aside with a nudge here and a shove there, quickly making her way to the front of the shop.
I followed closely behind He Ying, and after witnessing her methods, I couldn't help but mutter to myself, "He Ying's strength is incredible. She just pushed that two-hundred-pound guy away with one hand without even flinching."
Seeing that the crowd hadn't dispersed, He Ying didn't open the shop right away. Instead, she coldly glared at the group and said firmly, "You all need to disperse. Don't block my business. If you don't leave, I'll call the police."
The crowd paused at her words, and then someone spoke up, "Beautiful lady, we're here to buy talismans. Do you have any left? I want ten."
"Make that ten for me too! I need five Exorcism Talismans and five Calming Talismans!" another voice chimed in.
"I want to buy some as well! The Killing Intent in my house is too strong; please give me seven Exorcism Talismans!" someone else added.
"I'm also here for talismans! I live in the neighboring district and took a day off just to get some. Please save a few for me!"
...
He Ying was completely taken aback by the realization that this crowd had come to buy talismans. She pinched herself to confirm it wasn't a dream.
Noticing that He Ying was still in shock, I stepped forward a few paces, waved my hand to quiet the crowd, and said, "Everyone calm down! Form an orderly line; one person at a time—no pushing. We'll start selling talismans once everyone is lined up properly."
Upon hearing my words, the crowd immediately rushed to stand in front of me and formed a line. Although it got chaotic for a moment, they quickly settled down.
At this point, He Ying snapped back to reality and opened the door to her shop to start selling the talismans inside. I stood at the entrance, maintaining order in the line and preventing too many people from rushing into the store at once.
"Beautiful lady, I want twenty Exorcism Talismans! Here’s two thousand yuan; please confirm!"
"Boss Lady, here is a thousand yuan. I want five Calming Talismans and also five Exorcism Talismans!"
...
"Just a moment, I'll get the talismans for you right away." He Ying's face lit up with a happy smile as she counted the stacks of red bills, her heart already bursting with joy.
Seeing He Ying's expression, I shook my head in disbelief and said to Liu Zhenxian inside the Soul Nourishing Stone, "Liu Zhenxian, your daughter is completely obsessed with money."
After more than two hours, all the talismans in the shop were sold out. He Ying was counting money until her hands cramped, but her eyes sparkled with excitement, wearing a greedy smile.
"Boss Lady, why are there no talismans left? I've been waiting for a long time. Do you have any stock in the shop?" Seven or eight people who hadn't bought talismans asked He Ying.
He Ying glanced at the time and realized it was only four in the afternoon; there was still plenty of time. She smiled at them and said, "Why don't you go eat something outside first? Come back in an hour, and I guarantee there will be talismans for you."
The group nodded and turned to leave for dinner. Two of them, fearing they might miss out on the talismans, directly paid He Ying a deposit.
Once the group had left, He Ying put away the money and walked over to me. She smiled gently and said, "Jiang Ling, can you watch the shop for a bit? I need to go buy some talisman paper; I'll be back in ten minutes at most."
Even though He Ying had planned to turn against me earlier, I decided not to hold it against her for Liu Zhenxian's sake. I nodded and replied, "Sure, go buy the paper. I'll keep an eye on the shop."
"This time make sure to buy pre-cut talisman paper; don’t be too stingy!" I quickly reminded her as I thought about He Ying's greedy nature.
After He Ying left, I pulled out a chair and leisurely sat outside the shop.
After a while, Zhao Sanbao walked over from a distance. He smiled at me politely and said, "Good afternoon, Master Jiang Ling. Have you eaten yet?"
I sensed Zhao Sanbao's aura and noticed a trace of Eerie Aura lingering around him. Coupled with his pale complexion, I understood immediately and asked, "Director Zhao, did that Ghostly Being come after you again last night?"
Zhao Sanbao wasn't too surprised. He walked over to me with a bitter smile and shook his head. "Master Jiang Ling, I really need your help this time. I'm out of options."
Zhao Sanbao went to the police station early this morning to inquire about Su Xianwu's case. Although he provided new eyewitness testimony, the entire case still lacked any leads.
The Exorcism Talisman on Zhao Sanbao had run out last night, and he feared that the female ghost would come to haunt him again. Thus, he came to He Ying's shop looking for my help.
I glanced at Zhao Sanbao and said calmly, "Director Zhao, what exactly happened to you? Why is that Ghostly Being fixated on you? You can tell me now."
Zhao Sanbao sighed, gathered his thoughts, and this time he revealed everything without holding back.
"Red Skirt Ghost? Director Zhao, your situation is a bit troublesome. I can help you, but the price needs to be settled in advance." I turned to Zhao Sanbao and held up three fingers. "This is the price. If you're willing to pay it, I will help you deal with that Red Skirt Ghost."
Seeing my gesture, Zhao Sanbao fell silent for a moment. Finally, he gritted his teeth and said, "Three hundred thousand it is! As long as you help me get rid of that female ghost, the money can be transferred to your account immediately."
I had initially thought about charging only three thousand since the Red Skirt Ghost was not very powerful. I could easily deal with her in just a few minutes. However, when I heard the amount Zhao Sanbao mentioned, I was taken aback for a moment before quickly regaining my composure.
I cleared my throat and smiled. "Ahem, let's not rush into transferring the money just yet. I prefer to handle things first before collecting payment."
