Wu Jie reached out, intending to pick up the child. At that moment, the child swayed and quickly slipped away from Wu Jie's grasp, completely evading him. 0

"Friend, don't run around! It's dangerous here; it's dark outside. Let Big Brother take you home," Wu Jie said worriedly. He quickly turned around, only to find that the child's figure had vanished in the blink of an eye. Furrowing his brow in confusion, he shone his flashlight around but still couldn't see the child. 0

"Wu Jie, Zhao Zipeng, come over quickly! Tian Long is here, but something seems off!" The voices of the two female hosts reached him, filled with fear. 0

"What happened? What's wrong with Tian Long?" Wu Jie asked as he hurried towards the two hosts, temporarily abandoning his search for the child. 0

When Wu Jie arrived, he saw Tian Long hiding in a corner, his eyes tightly shut; he had truly passed out and looked quite battered. 0

Tian Long's clothes were torn to shreds, and his body was covered in wounds inflicted by the group of Corpses. There wasn't a single spot of unblemished skin on him. The most terrifying sight was the rope wrapped around Tian Long's neck, stained with fresh blood—whether it was his or someone else's remained unclear. His face was pale from being choked, and he struggled to breathe. 0

"Zhao Zipeng, hurry over!" Wu Jie rushed to untie the rope from Tian Long's neck. However, after coming into contact with blood, the rope became slippery and difficult to hold onto. Despite his anxiety, Wu Jie couldn't manage to loosen it. 0

Fortunately, the Corpses dared not kill Tian Long; the rope wasn't tied too tightly, allowing him to still breathe. If those Corpses crossed that line, they would incur a debt of murder and be hunted down by Ghost Messengers who would drag them into the eighteen layers of hell in the Underworld. 0

Soon enough, Zhao Zipeng and the others arrived. Seeing that Tian Long was still alive brought them some relief. Zhao Zipeng took out a dagger and carefully cut through the rope. Then he instructed two bodyguards to lift Tian Long as they all hurried towards the exit of the funeral home. 0

Wu Jie and the other hosts led the way out. Sun Qiang happened to be standing next to Wu Jie when he turned to him and asked, "Sun Qiang, did you see a child run out of the Body Storage Room?" 0

Sun Qiang shook his head without hesitation. "I was right by the exit of the Body Storage Room; I didn't see any child run out. Wu Jie, are you sure you didn't see it wrong?" 0

"That doesn't make sense; I clearly saw him," Wu Jie frowned as he recalled the child's appearance. "The child looked about three or four years old and was wearing a blue outfit with a cartoon pig's head on it. Are you really sure you didn't see anything?" 0

Wu Jie’s voice was not deliberately lowered, but Li Shengwu beside him heard it. Li Shengwu trembled, his expression turning fearful as he stammered, “Wu… Wu Jie, the child you saw… he… he is a ghost! We just saw him inside that black bag.” 0

As soon as Li Shengwu finished speaking, the air around them suddenly became eerily quiet. Wu Jie’s heart skipped a beat, and a cold sweat broke out on his forehead. 0

Wu Jie swallowed nervously and said, “No way! That child looked perfectly normal; how could he possibly be a ghost?” 0

Li Shengwu glanced nervously behind him and asked, “Wu Jie, you saw that child just now, so you should remember his height, right?” 0

Wu Jie nodded. He recalled and gestured with his hands, only to horrifyingly realize that the child was only about half a meter tall—far from the height of a normal child. Moreover, when the child ran past him, he hadn’t seen the lower half of the child’s body. He hadn’t paid attention at the time, but now that he thought back on it, Wu Jie was drenched in cold sweat. 0

“We should get out of here quickly! The ambulance outside should have arrived,” Wu Jie said, his face turning pale. He had no desire to stay in the mortuary any longer and hurriedly ran toward the exit. Upon hearing Wu Jie’s words, Sun Qiang and the others also quickened their pace. 0

After three or four minutes, they finally exited the mortuary, where Sun Qiang's previously called ambulance had arrived. The medical staff rushed over with a stretcher upon seeing Tian Long’s condition and quickly loaded him onto the ambulance. 0

The medical personnel frowned upon noticing the talismans stuck to Tian Long’s body. They angrily peeled them off and said, “Who put these on? How could you stick such dirty paper on a patient’s wounds? Don’t you know this can easily cause an infection?” 0

Wu Jie watched as the talismans were torn off Tian Long without intervening; he merely scratched the back of his head awkwardly. 0

The medical staff loaded both Tian Long and Ding Feng into the ambulance. Zhao Zipeng and several bodyguards followed suit, leaving only Wu Jie and a few other hosts along with five bodyguards standing in front of the mortuary. 0

Suddenly, Wu Jie heard a child's crying coming from the direction of the mortuary. He turned to look and saw that same child standing at the entrance of the mortuary, staring at him without blinking. Even more terrifying was that he noticed many shadowy figures standing behind the child; their faces were pale, and some appeared to be missing half of their bodies, looking exceptionally horrifying. 0

“Oh my god, why are there so many ghosts!” Wu Jie thought to himself as he guessed the identities of those shadows. He whispered to himself in fear and swallowed hard. 0

The two female hosts noticed Wu Jie's unusual behavior. They turned to look at the entrance of the funeral home, only to see an empty space with no one in sight. 0

"Wu Jie, what are you staring at? You're so engrossed!" one of the hosts tugged at Wu Jie's arm and asked. 0

Wu Jie snapped back to reality, but upon hearing their words, he suddenly realized that he was the only one who could see those ghostly figures. His face turned even paler as he shook his head and said, "It's nothing. Let's go. It's getting late; everyone should head home." 0

With that, Wu Jie and the others turned and walked towards the car parked by the roadside. Soon, they started the vehicle and left the funeral home behind. 0

"How could such strange things happen to me? I need to check out that shop," Wu Jie thought to himself as he sat in the car. 0
