Upon seeing the group of corpses that could speak, Tian Long gasped in shock. Despite being terrified, he instinctively felt a surge of fear wash over him.
"Don't come any closer! If you do, I'll take action!" Tian Long forced down the terror within him, brandishing the steel pipe in his hand and shouting fiercely at the corpses.
The group of corpses completely ignored Tian Long's threat, continuing to close in on him. However, due to their inability to control their bodies freely and the stiffness from being frozen, their movements were slow and clumsy.
Unfortunately, Tian Long had twisted his ankle, which also hindered his speed. Realizing he couldn't handle so many corpses, he gritted his teeth against the pain in his foot and limped toward the exit of the Body Storage Room.
"Hey there, big brother! Now that you're here, why not stay a while? Just stay with us!" The corpse that had hanged herself reappeared in front of Tian Long. She had removed the rope from her neck and was now holding it in her hand, grinning eerily at him.
"Get away from me!" Tian Long felt a chill run down his spine as he was stared at by the corpse. He shouted and swung the steel pipe forcefully at her head.
With a loud crash, Tian Long's steel pipe struck the corpse's skull, creating a finger-sized wound where a chunk of her head caved in. Strangely, no blood flowed from the injury, and her expression remained unchanged; she still wore that sinister smile, staring motionless at Tian Long.
Even though these were corpses without cultivation abilities, the steel pipe in Tian Long's hands was not a magical weapon. Unless he completely dismembered them, he wouldn't be able to eliminate the souls hidden within those bodies.
"Hey there, big brother! That really hurts! You're so mean," the female corpse said in a gloomy voice as she approached Tian Long. With her left hand on his shoulder, she quickly looped the rope around his neck with her right hand.
"Haha, buddy! So fierce! You can actually harm such a beautiful lady? You really have no taste!"
"Hey! Just stay with us! Don't be scared; we'll treat you well!"
At this point, the group of corpses had reached Tian Long's side. They grabbed hold of him and tugged at the rope around his neck, trying to find a place to hang him up.
"Let go of me! Let go! I don't want to die yet!" Realizing their intentions filled Tian Long with despair. He struggled desperately but found himself unable to break free from their grasp.
On the other side, Sun Qiang and his two companions were the first to rush out of the funeral home. Ding Feng had already fainted, but Sun Qiang and the other person seemed to be fine.
Sun Qiang glanced back at the funeral home with lingering fear. After Ding Feng passed out, he had closed the live stream and immediately called for an ambulance.
He let out a long breath and looked at the Black Bodyguard, saying, "Let's put Ding Feng down for now! The ambulance should arrive soon."
The funeral home was located close to the city hospital, so if there was no traffic, the ambulance would likely arrive in about ten minutes.
The Black Bodyguard nodded, and with Sun Qiang's help, they found a clean spot to lay Ding Feng down.
After three or four minutes, Li Shengwu and his group rushed out of the funeral home, their faces pale and clearly shaken by what they had experienced.
Sun Qiang guessed what Li Shengwu and his group had encountered. He scanned their faces but did not see Tian Long among them. Frowning, he approached and asked, "Li Shengwu, why are only you guys out? Where's Tian Long?"
Li Shengwu was gasping for breath. After a moment, he calmed down enough to point back at the funeral home and said, "Tian Long is still inside. We just encountered a ghost! Sun Qiang, you're so bold; why don’t you go in and save Tian Long!"
Upon hearing Li Shengwu's words, Sun Qiang quickly shook his head, his face pale as he replied, "I encountered a ghost too when I came out. One of my bodyguards is already in trouble; I can't go back in."
With that, Sun Qiang returned to Ding Feng's side. Sitting on the ground next to him, he glanced toward the funeral home and silently prayed that Tian Long would come out alive.
A few minutes later, Wu Jie appeared with two female streamers in front of Sun Qiang and his group, followed by their bodyguards.
Wu Jie and his companions had already watched the recorded live stream of what happened inside the funeral home, so they were well aware of the current situation.
The two female streamers didn’t blame Sun Qiang or Li Shengwu; instead, they approached Sun Qiang and took out seven or eight talismans from their belongings. They began placing them on Ding Feng’s body. Most of them were Calming Talismans and Exorcism Talismans; one even ended up on Ding Feng himself.
Sun Qiang glanced apologetically at the two female streamers. He did not reach out to stop them until they finished sticking the talismans. Then, he curiously asked, "What are you two doing?"
"Wu Jie, they are saving your bodyguard. Just watch," Wu Jie said confidently as he walked over. Sun Qiang was not very clear about the situation, but he nodded and quietly stood aside to observe.
After a dozen seconds, the talismans on Ding Feng suddenly emitted a faint white light. Some of the talismans began to ignite without fire, and White Dao Light flew out from them, then drilled into Ding Feng's body.
"Mmhm~~" Ding Feng let out a soft grunt. His body stopped shaking, and the white foam from his mouth ceased to flow.
As more and more white Dao Light entered Ding Feng's body, his condition improved significantly. The pallor of his face regained some color, and his breathing became stronger.
After a while, all the talismans on Ding Feng turned to ash. He shuddered and opened his eyes, but his body still felt weak, and he could not speak.
Seeing that Ding Feng's condition had improved, Sun Qiang let out a long sigh of relief. He looked at Wu Jie beside him and asked, "Wu Jie, what is this? It's so amazing!"
Wu Jie smiled and replied, "These are Taoist Talismans we just bought, specifically for dealing with ghosts and monsters. Now that we have these talismans for protection, we can go in and rescue Tian Long."
