I rushed into the corridor, only to see the surrounding space twist violently. The passage collapsed in an instant, and even the talismans on the ground shattered into pieces.
Not far away, one of the four highest-ranking figures in the Ten Thousand Evil Hall, Shou Zhi Jin, cast a sinister gaze at the spot where I had vanished. He muttered to himself, "Damn it, that brat actually got away with something. I must find out where he is and reclaim the Soul Nourishing Stone!"
Shou Zhi Jin and his two companions had ransacked the shops on Ghost Street, finding many valuable items. Some were stashed in their bags, while others were hidden on their subordinates.
Shou Zhi Jin had initially thought that his subordinates would not attract attention and that they could leave Ghost Street smoothly. He never anticipated that I would eliminate his men and steal the items they carried.
"Whoever you are, I will find you! The Soul Nourishing Stone is mine!" Shou Zhi Jin murmured to himself. He kept the knowledge of the Soul Nourishing Stone's presence on me to a minimum; the fewer who knew, the greater his chances of retrieving it.
Unfortunately for him, the moment I took the Soul Nourishing Stone from that black-robed man was witnessed by the Evil Insect Master nearby. A greedy glint flashed in his eyes as a sinister smile spread across his face. He said, "Heh, so it's the Soul Nourishing Stone! Now that I've discovered it, I must have it! With this, my years of crafting evil insects will finally succeed!"
The Soul Nourishing Stone is a type of stone used to harbor souls, belonging to the Underworld as a container for Ghost Messengers to confine souls. However, it allows souls to cultivate within it, thus producing numerous private spirits. It can also be used to raise Blood-Sucking Worms inside, allowing for the creation of rare evil insects.
The Soul Nourishing Stone rarely appears in the outside world; only one or two can be found in shops on Ghost Street. Now that Shou Zhi Jin and the Evil Insect Master were aware of its existence, they would certainly not miss their chance to seize it.
The fighting continued within Ghost Street, with more black-robed figures being slain while many others took advantage of the chaos to escape.
After about half an hour, there were no longer any members of Ten Thousand Evil Hall left on Ghost Street; only those from Ghost Street remained standing there, creating an atmosphere that was eerily quiet.
A shopkeeper spoke calmly, "Everyone, although we joined forces to slay Xu Ya, we still allowed others from Ten Thousand Evil Hall to escape. This time, our Ghost Street has been humiliated by Ten Thousand Evil Hall. What should we do now?"
"Hmph, what else can we do? We should march straight to Ten Thousand Evil Hall's headquarters and wipe them all out," Lord Qin replied angrily. His shop had been directly destroyed by Ten Thousand Evil Hall, resulting in significant losses and a major blow to his reputation.
"Amitabha, the Ten Thousand Evil Hall has stolen nine Buddhist Relics from my shop. I will contact all the Buddhist Monks to take action together and demand justice from the Ten Thousand Evil Hall," said the manager of the Buddhist Sect.
The other managers nodded in agreement, ready to march towards the headquarters of the Ten Thousand Evil Hall to seek retribution.
At that moment, Jiang Bao spoke up, "Fellow managers, the Ten Thousand Evil Hall has always hidden in the shadows, and no one knows where their headquarters is located. Should we split up to search for it? In the meantime, let's close down Spirit Ghost Street and take the opportunity to repair Ghost Street."
Lord Qin nodded and said, "Jiang Bao is right. The Ten Thousand Evil Hall has tarnished the reputation of Ghost Street. We will close Ghost Street for now, and once we eliminate the Ten Thousand Evil Hall, we will reopen it."
The nine managers of Ghost Street discussed briefly and ultimately decided to close Spirit Ghost Street for now, with the reopening time to be determined based on future circumstances.
On another note, I returned to the Buddhist Artifact Shop. Upon exiting, I saw Yu Yuanhang lying on the ground, motionless.
"Manager, you can't be dead!" I exclaimed in shock at Yu Yuanhang's appearance. I rushed over and checked his pulse, relieved to find he was still alive.
"Thank goodness you're not dead; I still have a way to save you." I dashed into the room and retrieved the Nine-Dragon Cauldron from the corner, discovering it contained half a cauldron of Elixir of Immortality. I helped Yu Yuanhang out and fed him all of the Elixir.
A faint white light emanated from Yu Yuanhang's body as his wounds began to heal at a visible rate, and his breathing gradually stabilized.
"Phew, it seems I've saved him," I sighed deeply. After helping Yu Yuanhang onto my bed and ensuring he was comfortable, I took a shower, changed into a fresh set of clothes, organized my belongings, and headed outside.
"Manager, thank you for taking care of me during this time. I'm going back now; hopefully, we can meet again in the future!" Yu Yuanhang called out to me. The reason for my urgency to leave was that I recognized the origin of that black stone.
The Soul Nourishing Stone is a treasure from the Yin-Yang Realm. Although its value may not compare to that of the Nine-Dragon Cauldron, it could attract many who would fight over it. Staying here any longer was no longer safe.
After stepping out of the Buddhist Artifact Shop, I looked around at the dark surroundings, feeling suddenly lost and unsure of where to go.
"Ah, forget it. I'll just go back. I haven't been home in a long time, and I don't even know if my dad has been looking for me!" An idea formed in my mind as I lifted my leg and walked toward the roadside. Although it was midnight, I could still see taxis running on the street, so I planned to hail one to take me home.
"Wait, this place feels a bit ominous. I should find another spot to catch a cab!" As I passed by the area where I had taken a black car before, I shook my head in annoyance and walked further away.
"Hey there, handsome! What are you doing wandering around alone at this hour? Want to find a place to rest?" Suddenly, a woman's voice came from behind me. Without turning around, I knew she was a ghost. There were two reasons for this: first, I sensed a faint Eerie Aura behind me; second, no normal person would be out on the street at such a late hour—except for someone like me.
I decided not to expose the ghost and wanted to see what she was up to. Turning around with a smile, I asked, "Oh, do you have somewhere to stay?"
Not far behind me stood a woman in a Red Cheongsam. She wore heavy makeup and held a lantern in her hand, looking somewhat eerie.
The ghost smiled at me and shook the lantern in her hand. "Come with me, handsome, and you'll find out. I'll give you a good deal."
