Cheng Zhong led everyone into the innermost room of the shop. I remembered that this was where Master had taught me and Jiang Bao about Spell. The space was small, but it was empty inside, devoid of any furnishings, resembling a vacant room.
Wu Jingye glanced around the room, his expression darkening. With a hostile tone, he said, "Cheng Zhong, you brought us here, but where is Jiang Bao? Are you playing tricks on us?"
Cheng Zhong pretended not to hear Wu Jingye's words. He took out a brush, dipped it in red Cinnabar, and began drawing strange symbols in the center of the room.
"Jiang Bao is waiting for you outside. I will finish drawing the teleportation array, and then you can go find him," Cheng Zhong said calmly. His movements became increasingly rapid; I could barely keep up with what he was doing. All I could see was that more and more symbols appeared on the ground, accompanied by a wave of Spell energy emanating from within.
After about ten seconds, the array on the ground became more complete, and the energy emanating from it grew stronger. At that moment, Cheng Zhong discarded the brush and formed complex Spell gestures with his hands. He bit his tongue and sprayed a mouthful of Tongue Blood onto the array.
The symbols on the ground activated with the Tongue Blood, emitting a faint white light. The space above the array twisted as if a door were hidden within it. However, it still needed just a little more power to reveal itself.
Cheng Zhong's face turned crimson as he pressed his hands into the distorted space, gripping it tightly. Then he forcefully tore it apart while chanting, "Trees have roots, water has sources, earth has order, all things have spirits. Flash Dance Network borrow Three Pure Divine Power to open boundless paths. Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods, Daoist Sect open!"
As soon as Cheng Zhong finished speaking, the void before him tore open to reveal a black wooden door from which strange mist wafted out. It looked eerie.
"The passage is now open. Those who wish to enter should hurry; Jiang Bao is waiting for you inside," he announced.
"Additionally, this passage can only remain open for one hour. After that time, it will disappear, and you will need to find your own way out," Cheng Zhong added, his complexion pale. Forcing open a space to another realm took a heavy toll on him. After finishing his task, he sat cross-legged on the ground to recover his strength so he could maintain the state of the passage.
Wu Jingye stared at the wooden door before him; his eyes darted around as he contemplated some nefarious idea. He approached Cheng Zhong without courtesy and asked, "Cheng Zhong, where does this door lead? You need to clarify what’s inside; who knows if you've set a trap for us?"
The people in the room nodded slightly at Wu Jingye's words, their gazes shifting toward Cheng Zhong sitting on the floor as someone spoke up in agreement.
"This friend is correct, Cheng Zhong. It's better for you to be clear about this, so we can enter with peace of mind."
"Amitabha, Master Cheng, please explain in detail."
"Heh heh, if there are traps inside, I won't make it easy for you. I have plenty of ways to send messages out, and by then, you'll be doomed."
...
I looked at the group of imposing individuals before me and felt a surge of frustration. I stepped up to Cheng Zhong, pushed the crowd aside, and shouted, "You cowards! If you dare to go in, just get lost. The shops on Ghost Street are not something you spineless rats can control."
My voice stunned the group; their gazes turned toward me, filled with anger. Some even harbored a cold killing intent in their eyes.
One man dressed in a black robe from the Evil Cultivation approached me, his tone dark as he said, "Brat, who do you think you are to speak so arrogantly? Are you looking for death?"
I met the Evil Cultivation's gaze without a hint of fear. I glared at him and pointed at everyone in front of me, saying bluntly, "Remember my name—Jiang Ling. I am the heir of this shop. You trash fish dare to covet my master's establishment? If you have the guts, come in with me; I guarantee I won't kill you."
With that, I turned and pushed open the wooden door, stepping inside. Ridiculous! These people had already invaded my territory; I could no longer tolerate it. Although I didn't know what lay beyond the wooden door, I trusted Cheng Zhong's character and walked in without hesitation.
"Hmph, Jiang Ling, is it? I'll make sure to teach you a lesson later so you'll know the consequences of offending me," the earlier Evil Cultivation said darkly, a flash of murderous intent crossing his eyes as he followed me through the wooden door.
"We should go in too. As long as we seize that Heritage Sword—the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword—and then walk out through this door, we will become the new masters of this shop."
"Strike first; let's hurry inside. We can't let them get ahead."
Once someone took the lead, the group in the room could no longer contain themselves. They hurriedly pushed open the wooden door in front of them and rushed inside.
After a while, only Cheng Zhong and Wu Jingye remained in the room. Cheng Zhong opened his eyes and looked at Wu Jingye, his tone filled with disappointment as he said, "Wu Jingye, the manager learned about the whereabouts of that item two years ago. He went to find it alone, all to lift the curse on you. I never expected you would do something like this. I really want to eliminate you for the manager."
Wu Jingye's expression twisted into a snarl, his eyes flashing with resentment. He let out a wild laugh and carelessly replied, "Haha, how amusing. Even if he finds that item, what does it matter? I am no longer the old Wu Jingye; my heart has long since died. What I want now is revenge, to make him regret it."
"I know he is not dead yet; I will wait for him, no matter how long it takes." After saying this, Wu Jingye turned and walked out of the shop, not bothering to fight for ownership.
Cheng Zhong watched Wu Jingye's departing figure, shaking his head and sighing as he muttered to himself, "Manager, why must you go through this?"
With that, Cheng Zhong closed his eyes again, continuing to recover his strength and ignoring the events outside.
After leaving the shop, Wu Jingye found an empty corner and took out a thumb-sized pill from his pocket. A glint flashed in his eyes as he crushed the pill with force and spoke ominously, "My dear senior brother, you destroyed everything for this shop; now I will destroy Ghost Street!"
With a loud "bang," the pill shattered into pieces, and a blood-sucking worm no larger than a hair flew out from within, darting off into the distance.
