Five security guards burst out from the crew, wielding their batons and shouting, "Who’s messing around? Come out now!"
These five guards were all tall and muscular men, and they didn’t believe in ghosts or anything supernatural. With a loud shout, they kicked over several pieces of fabric. At that moment, the chilling wind from the first floor ceased, and the eerie cries vanished.
The frightened girls huddled together, trembling from the earlier scare. Now that things seemed to return to normal, they exhaled deeply. One of them said, "Wow, that scared me to death! I thought there was a ghost!"
"Come on, there are no ghosts in this world. Stop scaring yourselves!"
One girl noticed Liu Yinglan's pale face, beads of cold sweat on her forehead. She joked, "Hey, Liu Yinglan, why do you look so bad? You’re not scared, are you? Haha, you’re such a coward!"
"Daughter, are you alright?" The slightly plump director turned to her with concern. He reached out to touch Liu Yinglan's forehead and found it icy cold; her temperature felt abnormal.
Liu Yinglan forced a smile and said nervously, "Dad, don’t worry. I’m just really tired. I’ll be fine after some sleep. Let’s hurry and get out of here!"
With that, Liu Yinglan grabbed her father's hand and quickly ran toward the entrance of the building.
While others saw the sealed Ghostly Beings within the fabric, Liu Yinglan, who had activated her Yin Soul Eye, could see everything clearly.
She spotted pale ghostly faces hidden among the fabric; many Ghostly Beings were staring at her with sinister grins that sent chills down her spine. All she wanted was to leave this place as soon as possible.
Liu Yinglan dared not reveal what she had seen for fear of being labeled insane. More importantly, she didn’t want everyone else to panic because fear was contagious and would only worsen their situation.
"Everyone go back and rest; we’ll resume work tomorrow," the director said as he led Liu Yinglan quickly outside. He sensed something was off with her and wanted to get her to a hospital as soon as possible.
With the five security guards clearing the way in front, the crew made their way smoothly to the center of the first-floor hall.
"Ouch! Lin, why did you trip me?" Suddenly, one guard fell to the ground and glared angrily at a nearby girl.
Lin looked a bit wronged and replied, "Wu Ge, I didn’t trip you! Besides, with your size, even if I wanted to trip you, I couldn’t!"
Wu Security felt embarrassed upon seeing Lin's expression; he scratched his head and said, "Lin, I’m sorry. I mistook you!"
The crew members shook their heads dismissively and continued toward the exit.
A glint flashed in Liu Yinglan's eyes as she realized the truth: it wasn’t Lin who tripped Wu Security but a Ghostly Being hiding nearby.
"Hey hey, this is fun, really fun!" the Ghostly Being said ominously, a voice only Liu Yinglan could hear.
"Ouch! Who's messing around behind me? This isn't fun at all! Boohoo~~"
"Who is so childish and loves to play pranks? How boring!"
Just a few steps later, two girls tripped over something, but strangely, they were at the front of the line and there was no one around them.
"What’s going on?" Suddenly, everyone in the crew stopped, and the atmosphere turned eerie.
"Don't go, play with us for a bit!"
"One, two, three, statue! Don't move, don't walk!"
"Boohoo~~" At that moment, a chilling ghostly wail echoed from inside the building. This time, none of the fabrics swayed, and there was no cold wind, yet the cries sounded even more terrifying.
"Ah! Who's pulling my hair? It hurts, let go of me!"
"Hey? Why are my shoelaces untied? Who did that?"
"No! Don't touch me!"
At this moment, some people in the crew felt their hair being tugged but saw no one around. Others felt hands groping them but also saw no figures. A strange atmosphere enveloped the crew.
Liu Yinglan's expression turned uncertain as she held the Yinling Flower fruit in her hand. After a moment of silence, she made a decision. She stepped forward and shouted loudly, "Everyone don’t be afraid! This is just an illusion created by your minds. I will help you dispel these illusions!"
With that, Liu Yinglan quickly walked over to the girl whose hair had been pulled. She grabbed the Ghostly Being's arm with one hand and raised her other hand to deliver two sharp slaps.
These Ghostly Beings were sealed in their cultivation, similar to the Faceless Ghost General from before; however, their cultivation was much weaker and their souls were not nearly as solid.
The Faceless Ghost General had been beaten to a pulp by Liu Yinglan; naturally, this Vengeful Spirit was even more pitiful. As Liu Yinglan slapped it twice, its soul trembled violently. A few more slaps would likely send it into oblivion.
The Ghostly Being quickly released its grip on the girl's hair and pleaded for mercy, "Ah! Beautiful lady, I was wrong! Please let me go!"
"Hmph, you know your place!" Liu Yinglan coldly snorted as she released the arm of the Ghostly Being, allowing it to retract back into the fabric.
It might have been an illusion, but after Liu Yinglan struck a Ghostly Being, her demeanor completely changed. The fear in her eyes was replaced with a fierce glint as she looked at the other Ghostly Beings; she had become addicted to hunting ghosts.
"Well, aren't you going to leave?" Liu Yinglan said, her gaze sweeping over several other Ghostly Beings. Those Ghostly Beings felt a chill run down their spines under her scrutiny and quickly scurried back into the fabric, too afraid to show themselves again.
The ghostly wails from the first floor faded away once more, and everything returned to normal. The crew members looked at Liu Yinglan with expressions that were noticeably different—filled with awe, fear, curiosity, and confusion.
"Wow, Liu Yinglan, I didn't expect you had this in you. You really are full of surprises!"
"Lan Jie, you're amazing! How did you do that? Teach me!"
The girls quickly forgot their earlier fears and surrounded Liu Yinglan, chattering excitedly and asking questions non-stop.
In Liu Yinglan's mind, for some reason, a memory of how she had pretended before surfaced. A smile appeared on her face as she mimicked my demeanor, striking a pose of a wise sage and said, "That's a secret! Don't ask too much."
