Seeing the powerful aura emanating from me, a glint of light flashed in Shen Chunlan's eyes, yet there was no trace of fear on his face. He smiled casually and said, "Jiang Ling, it seems you have such means. No wonder you want to venture deep into the Ghost Realm!"
Without showing any signs of hesitation, Shen Chunlan recalled the five Millennium Corpse Demons back into their coffins. He swiftly formed a spell with his hands and buried the five coffins back underground.
After completing these actions, he fixed his sharp gaze on my eyes and spoke with a tone full of combat intent, "Jiang Ling, let me test just how strong you really are!"
As soon as Shen Chunlan finished speaking, he bit down hard on his tongue, spraying a mouthful of Tongue Blood onto the artifact on the ground. He began to chant an unusual spell with his hands. After three or four seconds, Shen Chunlan completed the incantation and pressed his hands onto the artifact, shouting loudly, "Come forth! My Ten Thousand Year Corpse King!"
No sooner had he spoken than the artifact in his hand began to tremble violently. A skull that protruded from the artifact suddenly opened its eyes and emitted a piercing ghostly wail.
"Boom!" A tremendous sound echoed as the ground of the Valley shook once more, this time with even greater intensity than when the five Millennium Corpse Demons had appeared.
I frowned and stared intently at Shen Chunlan while muttering to myself, "This Shen Chunlan can't really have raised a Ten Thousand Year Corpse King, can he?"
Just as I felt anxious inside, a blood-red coffin emerged from the ground, standing upright before me. I could clearly sense that within that blood-red coffin lay an incredibly powerful Ghostly Being, giving me a vague sense of danger. It seemed there truly was a Ten Thousand Year Corpse King inside.
Looking at the blood-red coffin before me, I swallowed hard and forced a smile. "Shen Chunlan, um, we can talk this out; there's no need to resort to violence!"
Right now, I was relying on the power of Dog Treasure. Although I appeared to possess the aura of an Eternal Ghost King, I could only exert up to seven layers of its strength at most. If I were to face off against Shen Chunlan's summoned Ten Thousand Year Corpse King, I had no chance of winning.
Shen Chunlan looked at the artifact in his hand with some reluctance. After summoning the blood-red coffin before us, the skull that had just opened its eyes had already crumbled into nothingness. This was also the price Shen Chunlan paid for summoning the Ten Thousand Year Corpse King.
He shook his head lightly and turned his cold gaze toward me. "Jiang Ling, enough with the nonsense. Let me see your strength now and find out just how strong you really are!"
“Ten Thousand Year Corpse King, kill him!” Shen Chunlan commanded the coffin before her. Suddenly, a roar erupted from within, and the Ten Thousand Year Corpse King burst forth, sending the coffin lid flying.
I scrutinized the Ten Thousand Year Corpse King and noticed he was clad in an ancient official robe, with sharp teeth jutting from his mouth, resembling the zombies from Hong Kong films.
The Ten Thousand Year Corpse King before me was covered in red fur, looking almost like a monkey; he was indeed the legendary Red-Haired Corpse King, stronger than an ordinary Ten Thousand Year Corpse King. However, this Red-Haired Corpse King had a significant flaw—his intelligence was severely diminished, driven only by a bloodthirsty instinct with little cognitive ability. This was a consequence of the Gravekeeper raising Ghostly Beings.
“Roar!” Upon hearing Shen Chunlan's command, the Red-Haired Corpse King let out a deafening roar, his blood-red eyes fixated on me. Then, with a swift movement, he transformed into a blur and charged at me.
“Oh no, he's serious!” Seeing the Red-Haired Corpse King rushing towards me made my heart race. I quickly gathered my Evil Qi into my arms and prepared to engage him in battle.
After exchanging blows with the Red-Haired Corpse King for several rounds, my hands felt numb from the impact. I realized I was only taking hits; I couldn't inflict any damage on him.
“Capture the leader first; if I take down Shen Chunlan, this Ten Thousand Year Corpse King will fall apart on its own!” I furrowed my brow, plotting in my mind. Out of the corner of my eye, I glanced at Shen Chunlan and slowly maneuvered the Ten Thousand Year Corpse King closer to him.
Shen Chunlan noticed my intentions immediately but did not retreat. Instead, he calmly sat beside a table with his artifact in hand, a faint smile playing on his lips as he said, “Jiang Ling, if you can reach me, I will acknowledge your strength. At that time, I will join you in exploring the depths of the Ghost Realm!”
I felt speechless at Shen Chunlan's words and replied irritably, “Shen Chunlan, is it really necessary to go through all this? Do you think my strength won't allow me to reach you?”
Shen Chunlan shook his head as he picked up a teacup from the table and took a leisurely sip. He then pointed toward a nearby wooden house and explained, “Jiang Ling, I tested your strength so that those inside the wooden house could witness that we both possess the capability to venture deep into the Ghost Realm together. Only then can we persuade them to join us. However, before we set off, we must establish our hierarchy!”
Upon hearing Shen Chunlan's words, I was taken aback; I hadn't expected him to come to this Valley to invite the Millennium Ghost General to explore the Ghost Realm with us. Turning my gaze toward the wooden house not far away, a glimmer of insight flashed in my eyes as I wondered aloud, “Who exactly is the master of this Valley?”
After about five minutes had passed, I finally reached Shen Chunlan's side. By then, I was drenched in sweat and my Evil Qi had become extremely unstable. Fortunately, Shen Chunlan had ordered the Red-Haired Corpse King to cease its attack. I let out a long sigh of relief and plopped down beside him.
Shen Chunlan took out a teacup and poured me a cup of tea, smiling as she said, "Haha! Jiang Ling, looking at you, among the three of us, you might be the last one! However, we should take our time discussing the matters of venturing into the Ghost Realm. Let's have some tea first!"
"Alright!" Although I was puzzled about being ranked last, seeing that Shen Chunlan wasn't in a hurry to explain and feeling extremely thirsty, I picked up the teacup on the table and drank the tea in one gulp.
As soon as I swallowed that cup of tea, my expression turned serious. I stared intently at Shen Chunlan and asked, "Shen Chunlan, what exactly is this tea?"
