After a while, Mo Han turned to look at me, his expression filled with disdain. He spoke in a flat tone, "Hah! Daoist, do you want to live or die?"
Hearing Mo Han's words, I felt an intense wave of anxiety. I had just witnessed his methods; if he truly wanted to kill me, I had no chance of survival.
I took a deep breath to calm my emotions and looked into Mo Han's eyes, speaking sincerely, "Senior, we have no grievances between us. I'm just a Daoist who accidentally entered the Ghost Realm, while you are the legitimate Ghost Messenger of the Underworld. There is no conflict of interest between us, and I don't want to die young in the Ghost Realm, nor do I wish to become your enemy. So, I want to live!"
A glimmer flashed in Mo Han's eyes as he stared directly into mine, as if he could see through my thoughts. His gaze made me uncomfortable, but I didn't want to appear timid. I gritted my teeth and held his gaze.
After a moment, Mo Han withdrew his icy stare. He reattached the Soul Snare at his waist and said calmly, "Hah! You actually want to live? Then I'll let you off this time! I hope you can make it out of the Ghost Realm alive!"
With that, Mo Han's figure flickered and transformed into an afterimage as he swiftly moved toward the exit of the Demon and Dao Battlefield. He showed no interest in me whatsoever and clearly deemed me unworthy of his attention.
"Phew! That was close!" Once Mo Han's figure completely vanished from my sight, I let out a long breath and finally felt some relief.
I rested for a few seconds until my emotions settled down. Glancing at Dog Treasure's body, I frowned slightly and muttered to myself, "Dog Treasure should be okay, right?"
Although Dog Treasure's head had been smashed to bits by Mo Han's strike, there still lingered a faint trace of life within it, indicating that Dog Treasure was still alive.
Mo Han had noticed Dog Treasure's condition as well but deemed it unworthy of a follow-up attack since he believed that with its head shattered, there was no way for Dog Treasure to survive.
"Haha! Dog Treasure is indeed still alive!" I approached Dog Treasure's body and found that although its aura was weak, it had not faded away completely.
Dog Treasure's true form was that of a Three-Eyed Leech; even if its body were cut in half, it wouldn't die. Mo Han had only destroyed the head that Dog Treasure had transformed into, which didn't significantly affect it. However, Dog Treasure's current situation was indeed precarious.
Dog Treasure first swallowed a large amount of the Pure Yin Stone contaminated by Evil Qi, and then absorbed those strange Red Liquid. The aura within its body surged violently, making it very likely to fall into a state of madness.
Later, Dog Treasure's consciousness was suppressed by the soul of the Evil God, and even its body was controlled by the Evil God. If it weren't for the fact that the Evil God was busy fighting Mo Han, Dog Treasure's consciousness might have been completely obliterated, leading to its total demise.
However, with its body being recklessly manipulated by the Evil God and forced into a battle with Mo Han, Dog Treasure sustained severe injuries. Coupled with its weakened soul, it now appeared to be on the brink of collapse.
“Woof Woof~~” Feeling my presence, Dog Treasure emitted a faint bark and began to twist its body, revealing its Three-Eyed Leech True Form.
“What’s going on?” I looked at Dog Treasure in disbelief. Its body was clearly as large as a water buffalo, but when it showed its Three-Eyed Leech True Form, it shrank to the size of just an arm.
I picked up Dog Treasure from the ground and noticed that it was covered in a large amount of Evil Qi. This Evil Qi continuously assaulted its body, turning it dark red and causing its aura to become extremely unstable.
“Woof Woof~~” Dog Treasure let out a weak cry. It rubbed against my hand a few times before jumping directly into the Round Seal on my chest.
“Ah! It’s so hot!” I screamed and quickly took off my shirt, looking down at my chest. To my surprise, I saw that the Round Seal had manifested and turned bright red, with scorching Evil Qi seeping out from within the seal.
Furrowing my brows, I felt a powerful surge of Evil Qi suddenly filling my body. This Evil Qi suppressed all of my Daoist and Buddhist Powers, threatening to fill me entirely. I sensed my consciousness becoming increasingly agitated, filled with an impulse to kill that overwhelmed my mind.
“No way! Am I going to go mad?” My expression turned fearful as I quickly hugged my head with both hands, shaking it repeatedly in an attempt to maintain clarity. Unfortunately, this approach proved ineffective as the Evil Qi within me grew more turbulent.
“Form Is Emptiness, Emptiness Is Form, Form Is Emptiness, Emptiness Is Form! The original intention of the Buddhist Sect, may all evils be repelled! Adhere to the path of goodness, keep the soul steady! Falling into demonic ways leads to an endless Suffering Sea! Evil thoughts in the heart can deceive the mind! Put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha instantly! Namo Amitabha Buddha!”
Just as my spirit was about to collapse, the manifestation of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation in my Dantian suddenly burst forth. With hands clasped together and an incredibly solemn expression, he chanted profound Buddhist Scriptures. A beam of Golden Buddha Light shot out from above his head, enveloping my body within it.
"Ah!" I let out a painful scream, my eyes tightly shut. Under the illumination of the Buddha's light, the Evil Qi within me was slowly suppressed, and the killing intent in my mind faded slightly.
After a while, the Evil Qi was contained within my body, and the Round Seal on my chest also retracted back inside. At that moment, the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and Buddha Manifestation above my head returned to my Dantian.
"Hehe! The Evil Qi has finally been suppressed! I never expected that my strength has reached Master Rank! This truly is a blessing in disguise!" I felt the surging power within me and couldn't help but let out a loud laugh. I was completely unaware that my eyes were already shrouded in a layer of red Evil Qi. Although the Evil Qi within me had been suppressed, it had seeped into my mind, and unknowingly, I had already fallen into madness.
"What a ragged robe!" After putting on my clothes again, I showed little interest in the Daoist Robe stained with blood, so I stuffed it into my backpack.
"This mask seems to be a Soul Artifact of that Evil God! It should be useful!" I glanced at the fragments of the mask lying on the ground, a glint of excitement flashing in my eyes. Without thinking, I crouched down and picked up all the mask fragments, carefully storing them away.
"Hehe! Now that my strength is so powerful, it's time to venture into the Ghost Realm!" I let out a sinister laugh as I took out the map from my pocket, preparing to head to the next place where fortune awaited me.
