The Millennium Ghost General in front of me struck me with a palm, sending me crashing to the ground. He looked at me and snorted coldly, saying, "Hmph! Stinky Taoist, consider yourself lucky this time; I'll spare your life!"
After finishing his words, the Millennium Ghost General flickered and transformed into an afterimage, quickly searching for the souls within the Demon and Dao Battlefield.
"Spit! Is this the power of the Millennium Ghost General? It's truly overwhelming!" I climbed up from the ground, spitting out blood and clutching my chest in pain. The spot where I had been hit felt as if my bones were cracking, causing cold sweat to bead on my forehead.
I picked up the Demon-Subduing Staff and the Broken Sword from the ground and cautiously approached the pit where Dog Treasure was located. However, having witnessed the strength of the Millennium Ghost General, I refrained from recklessly attacking again.
The leading Millennium Ghost General shot a cold glance at me, his voice filled with murderous intent as he warned, "Stinky Taoist, if you dare to come over and cause trouble again, I will kill you!"
I felt a chill run down my spine from his gaze. I was certain that if I attempted another sneak attack, the two Ghost Generals would undoubtedly team up to eliminate me. I swallowed hard and temporarily put away my magical artifact. Tentatively, I asked, "What is your intention in capturing my Demon Beast?"
"Heh heh! It doesn't matter if I tell you!" The leading Millennium Ghost General laughed heartily, his expression excited as he explained, "We three are servants of the Evil God Selection. The leading Millennium Ghost General paused for a moment before glancing at me with a sinister smile. They all ended up bursting apart from the Evil Qi and completely losing their souls! This time, I hope your Demon Beast can endure so that we can bring back the Evil God!"
After saying this, the leading Millennium Ghost General turned his attention to Dog Treasure in the pit, focusing intently as he infused his own Evil Qi into Dog Treasure's body, completely ignoring my presence.

"Not good! We need to retreat!" Li Yongkang sensed the powerful aura emanating from the Millennium Ghost General and, without hesitation, turned to flee with the Vengeful Spirit by his side, heading out of the Demon and Dao Battlefield.
"Haha! Why are you running? We are of the same kind; I mean you no harm!" The Millennium Ghost General was much faster than Li Yongkang and his companions. Within seconds, it had already blocked their path.
Li Yongkang noticed the red Evil Qi swirling around the Millennium Ghost General and speculated that it might have consumed a contaminated Pure Yin Stone to ascend to the rank of Ghost General. However, what puzzled him was that this Millennium Ghost General seemed to retain its sanity and had not turned into the chaotic monster described in rumors.
Though his mind was racing with thoughts, Li Yongkang maintained a respectful demeanor and bowed to the Millennium Ghost General, politely saying, "Ghost General, we did not mean to intrude upon your territory. We will leave at once; please spare us!"
"Haha! Why are you in such a hurry to leave? I have something good to offer you!" The Millennium Ghost General grinned ominously and produced a large number of contaminated Pure Yin Stones—at least twenty or thirty. It tossed one of the Pure Yin Stones to Li Yongkang and said, "These Pure Yin Stones are valuable; they can quickly enhance your strength. Why not each try swallowing one?"
Li Yongkang caught the Pure Yin Stones, his expression turning grim as he suppressed his fear. "Ghost General, we cannot accept such precious items; please take them back!"
"What? Are you worried that I might harm you?" The Millennium Ghost General scoffed and quickly approached, snatching a contaminated Pure Yin Stone from Li Yongkang's hand. Without hesitation, it swallowed it whole.
After a moment, as the Millennium Ghost digested the Pure Yin Stone, its aura grew even stronger. It burped contentedly and said, "This Pure Yin Stone is excellent! If you don't want it, then I'll take it back!"
The Vengeful Spirits watched in confusion as the Millennium Ghost General consumed the contaminated Pure Yin Stone without any apparent ill effects on its sanity. Their expressions began to waver with doubt.
Seeing that the Millennium Ghost General was about to reclaim the Pure Yin Stones, several Vengeful Spirits could no longer hold back. They stepped forward and shouted, "Ghost General! I want a Pure Yin Stone! Please give me one!"
"I want one too!" After one took the lead, all of Li Yongkang's Vengeful Spirits lost their composure. Their eyes filled with greed as they snatched a Pure Yin Stone from Li Yongkang's hands and swallowed it without hesitation.
"This isn't right! Something's off!" A sense of foreboding gripped Li Yongkang. He was the only Vengeful Spirit who had not consumed a Pure Yin Stone, but he could not stop the others; he could only watch helplessly as events unfolded before him.
The Millennium Ghost General let out a reckless laugh, his voice chilling as he said, "Ha ha! Very good! You foolish ghosts dare to swallow these Pure Yin Stones, hoping to gain the power of the Evil God. Truly, you do not know the meaning of death!"
