“Jiang Ling, let me share a piece of wisdom from the martial world: often, the most obvious places are the best for hiding treasures!” Lin Hanyu put on a knowing expression as he led me to the front of a large supermarket locker. He pulled out a paper barcode from his pocket and scanned it at the machine. 0

“Stop with the nonsense; you must have nowhere else to store your things, which is why you’re using a supermarket locker!” I shot Lin Hanyu an incredulous look, seeing right through his situation. He chuckled awkwardly and opened one of the locker doors, retrieving an old backpack from inside. 0

I frowned and asked in confusion, “That backpack is so small; how can you fit the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword in there?” 0

“Ha! You just don’t get it! Let’s find a quiet place where I can show you properly!” Lin Hanyu said proudly as he slung the backpack over his shoulder and led me to an alley outside the supermarket. 0

“This backpack contains treasures I’ve collected over many years. If I weren’t short on cash, I wouldn’t be selling them to you!” Lin Hanyu feigned a look of loss, but I merely rolled my eyes and ignored him. He opened the backpack, revealing a jumble of items inside. 0

“This is your treasure?” I looked at the assortment of random objects in the backpack: a blood-stained Daoist robe, damaged books, and broken talismans—all appeared quite aged, but none were intact. 0

“Jiang Ling, don’t underestimate these items! Let me introduce you to their origins, and you’ll see their true value!” Lin Hanyu anticipated my reaction and calmly pulled out the blood-stained Daoist robe. As he unfolded it, I noticed a fist-sized hole in the back, as if it had been slashed by a knife. 0

“This Daoist robe has quite a history; it belonged to the thirty-seventh Sect Leader of Maoshan. The bloodstains on it are from that very Sect Leader! It’s said that this Sect Leader had reached the Daoist Earth Immortal Tablet level—just one step away from ascending to the Daoist Sect’s immortal rank!” 0

“The blood on this robe can not only intimidate spirits but also help one comprehend Taoist magic! Jiang Ling, if you want to practice Daoism, wearing this robe will allow you to grasp spells from the Daoist Sect in no time!” Lin Hanyu sneaked a glance at me, but when he saw my lack of interest, he quickly stuffed the robe back into the backpack and pulled out something else. 0

I shot him another glare and activated my internal Daoist magic, letting out an aura unique to Taoist Masters. “Lin Hanyu, stop with those useless items! Just bring out the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword directly!” 0

When I fought Lin Hanyu yesterday, I had only used techniques from the Buddhist Sect, so he didn’t know I was a master who practiced both Daoism and Buddhism. 0

“You could have said that earlier!” Lin Hanyu muttered under his breath. He reached into the backpack and tossed a broken sword in front of me. “This is the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword!” 0

I furrowed my brow and picked up the Broken Sword, examining it closely. The front half of the sword was broken off, leaving a blade only half a meter long, about the same length as my Demon-Subduing Staff. What caught my attention the most was that the blade's edge was completely worn down, with numerous pockmarks and dents, indicating it had seen better days. 0

I shook my head, thoroughly disappointed by the appearance of the Broken Sword. If it weren't for Lin Hanyu telling me about it, I would have thought it was just a flat iron rod. 0

"Let's see if it can still be used!" I thought to myself as I infused a trace of Daoist Magic from my Dantian into the Broken Sword. Generally, when Daoist Artifacts are infused with Daoist Magic, they emit an aura of the Daoist Sect, thereby enhancing the power of a Taoist Master. 0

"Eh? What's going on?" I was surprised. When I injected my Daoist Magic into the Broken Sword, that surge of power vanished instantly, and the sword showed no reaction at all. This was a situation I had never encountered before. 0

Frowning in confusion, I injected another trace of Daoist Magic and carefully sensed its flow. I discovered that as soon as the magic entered the Broken Sword, it was immediately devoured by a phantom within the sword, disappearing without a trace. 0

"I've struck gold! I've struck gold! This Broken Sword actually has a sword spirit inside; this is an extraordinary artifact, one in ten thousand. If I can nourish this sword spirit, I'll have an additional Daoist Guardian weapon!" A wave of ecstasy washed over me, and I struggled to keep from smiling. 0

The existence of Spirit Blades had always been an open secret in the Yin-Yang Realms. No one knew how to make an artifact develop a soul, but once an artifact possessed a soul, it was destined to become an extraordinary weapon. As far as I knew, there were only three artifacts with souls in the Yin-Yang Realms: a Soul Snare belonging to a Ghost Messenger from the Underworld, a Decapitating Blade known for slaying thousands, and a Corpse Oil Lamp that burned human oil. Even my master's Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword lacked a sword spirit. 0

I took a moment to calm my emotions while toying with the Broken Sword. Without revealing my excitement, I asked casually, "Lin Hanyu, is this rusty piece of iron really the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword? Are you trying to fool me?" 0

Of course, I knew this wasn't the real Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword; that one was in Jiang Bao's possession. I just wanted to coax Lin Hanyu into revealing more about the origins of this Broken Sword. 0

Lin Hanyu crossed his arms and scoffed dismissively. "Hmph! What do you know? This Broken Sword and that Daoist Robe belong to the same person—the thirty-seventh Sect Leader of Maoshan! Just think about it; he’s the Sect Leader of such a major sect as Maoshan—his artifacts must be exceptional. This is definitely the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword; it's just been through some wear and tear. It could very well be even more powerful than that sword!" 0

A black line appeared on my forehead; it seemed Lin Hanyu didn't know much about the origins of this Broken Sword either. I shot him an exasperated glance and feigned disinterest. "Lin Hanyu, so you don’t even know what kind of artifact this is! It might just be some junk you picked up because you thought I was naive enough to fall for your tricks!" 0

Lin Hanyu scratched his head awkwardly and admitted, "Uh! You've seen right through me! This Broken Sword is indeed something I found, but where I found it is quite extraordinary!" 0

Lin Hanyu paused for a moment, then walked over to me and said in a deliberately mysterious tone, "This Broken Sword is something I picked up from the Ghost Realm! It hides secrets about the Ghost Corpse, and all you need to..." 0

"Stop! I'm not interested in your secrets, so don't tell me!" I quickly interrupted Lin Hanyu, shaking the Broken Sword in my hand. "How much are you selling this Broken Sword for? I've bought your item, so please don't mention any more about the Ghost Corpse, alright?" 0

Upon hearing that I wanted to buy the Broken Sword, a smile appeared on Lin Hanyu's face. "Jiang Ling, you truly are a good friend! I'll sell you this Broken Sword for a cheap price—just one thousand!" 0

However, Lin Hanyu glanced at me with a hint of guilt; selling a piece of scrap metal like the Broken Sword for one thousand seemed a bit steep. 0

When I heard Lin Hanyu's price, I let out a sigh of relief. It seemed he hadn't discovered the secret of the Broken Sword; otherwise, he wouldn't have priced it so low. 0

"Ding ding ding~~" Just as I was about to nod in agreement, my phone suddenly rang. 0
