I originally didn't want to get involved, but that strange aura was getting closer to our private room at an alarming speed. For the safety of Chen Sibao and the others, I felt it necessary to step outside and take a look.
As soon as I exited the room, I saw a man charging towards me with an angry expression. He wore a plaid shirt on top, baggy black shorts below, and flip-flops on his feet. His hair was a mess, resembling a bird's nest, and he had an uneven beard—he looked like a complete loser.
I sensed the strange atmosphere and realized it was emanating from him. But in the blink of an eye, that eerie feeling suddenly vanished. I scrutinized him with confusion, thinking to myself, "What is going on here?"
The loser was also sizing me up. He snorted coldly, his gaze unfriendly, and asked, "Hmph, punk, is Yang Angang in this room?"
I frowned, feeling annoyed. "Who do you think you are, acting so arrogant?"
He pounded his chest and declared, "I'm Lin Hanyu, Yang Angang's boyfriend! Who are you?"
"I'm Jiang Ling!" I replied somewhat sheepishly, feeling speechless about Chen Sibao. After all this trouble, it turned out Yang Angang already had a boyfriend. Chen Sibao was digging someone else's wall.
"Jiang Ling, huh? It's late at night, and you brought my girlfriend to a restaurant. You must have bad intentions! Tonight, I'll make sure you crawl out of here!" Lin Hanyu's eyes flashed with menace as he clenched his fists and aimed a punch at my stomach.
Seeing the situation escalate, I quickly dodged his punch and shouted, "Lin Hanyu, stop! This is a misunderstanding; let me explain!"
"Go die!" Lin Hanyu didn't relent; his attacks became faster and more forceful.
I took a punch to the stomach from Lin Hanyu that nearly brought tears to my eyes. Clutching my belly with my left hand, I staggered back a few steps. My eyes glinted with fury as I coldly said, "Lin Hanyu, you're forcing my hand!"
In a flash, I transformed into a shadow and charged at Lin Hanyu. Ever since I began training in martial arts, my agility had improved significantly. Most people couldn't last ten moves against me in a fight; clearly, Lin Hanyu was not my match.
“Heart-Piercing Black Tiger!” I seized an opening from Lin Hanyu, my hands forming the shape of tiger claws as I struck forcefully at his chest. Lin Hanyu let out a muffled groan, his face turning ashen as he staggered back three or four steps.
Lin Hanyu spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes flickering with a strange pale green light. In a grim voice, he said, “Very well! Jiang Ling, you have thoroughly angered me! I will show no mercy now!”
As Lin Hanyu finished speaking, an eerie aura emanated from him, a mix of Eerie Aura, Corpse Qi, and Evil Qi swirling together.
I raised an eyebrow, shock evident on my face. “Lin Hanyu, you are a Shiki!”
The Shiki, also known as half-human half-ghost, is a unique and rare existence, a type of Ghostly Being. A Shiki is the soul of a Living Person that has left the body for an extended period. After becoming a ghost, by chance, that ghost can reintegrate into its original body, thus transforming into a Shiki.
The rarity of the Shiki as a Ghostly Being lies in the fact that once the soul leaves the physical body, the body begins to reject the reintegration of the soul. The longer the soul is absent, the stronger this rejection becomes. Moreover, the body must remain in excellent condition to have any chance of reusing it; otherwise, it simply becomes a Corpse.
In the Yin-Yang Realms, there are rumors that Ghost Corpses know the secrets of Soul Possession. If a Living Person masters this technique, they can ensure their soul exists indefinitely, achieving a state akin to immortality. Therefore, whenever a Ghost Corpse appears, it attracts many Yin-Yang Masters seeking to capture it; however, I am not interested in such rumors.
“Oh! I didn’t expect you to recognize my true form; that means I cannot let you go!” The killing intent flickered in Lin Hanyu’s eyes as he wrapped his left hand in dark Eerie Aura, wielding a white Bone Knife made from Corpse Qi in his right hand. He flashed forward again towards me.
Sensing the imminent danger before me, I dared not be careless. I quickly summoned my internal Buddhist Power, calling forth the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation from my Dantian. With my hands pressed together in sincerity, I recited the sutra of the Buddha's Palm of Salvation: “Buddhist Teachings to Save All Beings, ferrying both humans and spirits! For those who are Undead, may they be reborn and forget worldly ties! Buddhist Transformation Palm! Namo Amitabha Buddha!”
As my words fell silent, Lin Hanyu reached me, his right hand with the white Bone Knife just a finger's breadth from my chest. I quickly raised my right hand and struck forward, controlling the Buddha Manifestation behind me to intercept that white knife.
“Bang!” A loud crash echoed as the Buddha Manifestation’s palm pierced through with a large hole; Lin Hanyu’s white knife shattered into two pieces. Both our bodies were jolted backward several steps, our faces paling slightly as we suffered some backlash.
After exchanging blows with each other, it became clear that our strengths were closely matched. If we were to determine a victor today, it would likely take quite some time. Our gazes locked for a moment before we ceased our fighting.
My fight with Lin Hanyu finally caught the attention of others. One after another, people emerged from the private room in the restaurant, pulling out their phones and gathering around to watch the commotion.
"Lin Hanyu, what are you doing here?" Yang Angang stepped out of the private room, looking somewhat surprised at Lin Hanyu's presence.
Upon seeing Yang Angang, Lin Hanyu retracted his strange aura and walked up to her, speaking bluntly, "Angang, have you lost your mind? Are you really considering dating this monk? I've been pursuing you for twelve years; can't you give me a chance?"
Yang Angang shot Lin Hanyu a glare and replied coldly, "Lin Hanyu, I’m with someone else. The two of us can never be together, so just give up!"
"By the way, my boyfriend isn’t Jiang Ling; it’s Chen Sibao!" Yang Angang declared as she reached out and took Chen Sibao's left hand, a hint of shyness coloring her cheeks.
Chen Sibao's heart raced. He had never expected happiness to come so suddenly. He stepped forward and smiled, saying, "That's right! I, Chen Sibao, am Angang's boyfriend. You’d better not have any ideas about her in the future; otherwise, you'll regret it!"
It was clear that Yang Angang was using Chen Sibao as a shield, but he didn’t catch on and believed her completely. I shook my head in disbelief and muttered to myself, "Indeed, people in love have zero IQ!"
