After more than two hours, I found myself sitting in the interrogation room of the police station. In front of me were two officers; the lead investigator, Officer Jiang Qi, was a seasoned cop in his forties, while the younger officer beside him appeared to be around twenty-five or twenty-six, diligently taking notes with a pen. 0

I was strapped with some strange devices, my fingers pinched a wire connected to a lie detector in the observation room next door. The observation room was separated from the interrogation room by a glass partition, allowing the officers inside to see me, but I couldn't see them. 0

“Jiang Ling, confess honestly! Did you kill him?” Officer Jiang Qi slammed his hand down on the table, his expression stern as he raised his voice. 0

“Officer Jiang, I've said it six times already—Wang Hai was not killed by me!” I replied calmly. I had answered this question six times, yet Jiang Qi continued to press me. I pointed at several photographs on the table, all depicting the gruesome aftermath of Wang Hai's death, showing only a bloodied skeleton—a horrifying sight. 0

I picked up one of the photos and said with a steady expression, “Officer Jiang, look at this—Wang Hai is just a pile of bones. His flesh has been bitten off and eaten! Do you really think a normal person would commit such a twisted act?” 0

Jiang Qi's expression remained impassive as he pressed further, “Jiang Ling, how do you know that Wang Hai's flesh was bitten off?” 0

I felt speechless inside. When I escaped from the basement, I had guessed Wang Hai's fate. The Western Flying Skull only had a head; it would have used its teeth to bite off Wang Hai's flesh. However, I didn't need to reveal my thoughts directly. 0

I shook my head subtly and pointed to the area around Wang Hai's nose in the photo. “Officer Jiang, look here—this spot clearly shows bite marks! If you suspect it was me who bit him, you can take an impression of my teeth for comparison.” 0

In the observation room next door stood five people: the police chief of the station, the commander of the armed police, an inspector sent from above, and two officers monitoring the lie detector. 0

One officer noticed the stable lines on the lie detector and reported, “Chief, Jiang Ling is telling the truth; everything he said is genuine!” 0

If I were there, I would have immediately recognized the police chief—Chen Sibao—the same oddball who had suggested throwing rotten eggs at Wang Xinyu. I never expected him to be in charge of this police station. 0

Chen Sibao nodded without expression and instructed the two officers, “Alright, I understand! Take Jiang Qi and put him in the Holding Cell! You all can leave now!” 0

The two officers stepped out of the observation room and relayed the information to Jiang Qi, while I was escorted out of the interrogation room. 0

Chen Sibao turned to the two individuals standing beside him and asked, "Comrades, what do you think about this matter?" 0

The Armed Police Commander pondered for a moment before analyzing, "The method used in this case is too brutal; the perpetrator must be a vicious psychopath. I've apprehended many murderers and seen all sorts of people, but Jiang Ling doesn't seem like a killer! Of course, this is just my personal speculation!" 0

"Actually, this situation is quite clear; it's a Supernatural Case!" The detective in the room spoke candidly. "I've been a detective for many years and encountered similar cases. Such Supernatural Cases should be handed over to specialized departments for handling!" 0

Once the detective finished speaking, the room fell silent. As police officers, they had all encountered similar situations to some extent, but no one would openly acknowledge the existence of ghosts or monsters. Chen Sibao glanced at the detective with quiet admiration; he hadn't expected this officer to be so bold. 0

I was led out of the interrogation room, following Jiang Qi as we walked toward the office area outside the police station. I asked curiously, "Officer Jiang, are you going to let me go?" 0

"Jiang Ling, don't get your hopes up!" Jiang Qi's tone was less fierce than during the interrogation. He replied curtly, "Even if you're not the murderer, you have to wait until we clear your suspicions before we can let you go!" 0

Feeling the change in Jiang Qi's tone eased my anxiety; it seemed I wouldn't be stuck here for much longer. 0

Jiang Qi glanced at me with a hint of sympathy and said, "Jiang Ling, I'm taking you to our station's Holding Cell. It's where some captured criminals are kept—essentially a temporary jail! When you go in there, try not to act impulsively; don't let anyone beat you up!" 0

Hearing Jiang Qi's words made my heart race, and I felt a tightening sensation. The Holding Cell housed criminals; who knew what they would do to me if I were locked in with them? 0

"Ah! Big brother, I'm sorry! Please don't hit me! I'm begging you, stop!" As we approached the Holding Cell, we heard sounds of punches and kicks along with desperate pleas for mercy. The chilling cries made me swallow hard. 0

"What are you all doing? Stop it right now! Hands on your heads and squat in the corner!" Jiang Qi shouted as he rushed over. He drew his baton and struck it forcefully against the iron bars of the Holding Cell. The criminals inside saw Jiang Qi arrive and immediately ceased their actions, obediently placing their hands on their heads and squatting in the corner. 0

Inside the Holding Cell, there were a total of twelve people, eight of whom were part of the same gang and the rulers of this Holding Cell. Just moments ago, they had been beating up a shifty-eyed thief, who was now battered and bruised but dared not report them to Jiang Qi. 0

"There's a young man coming in shortly. You all better behave and not touch him! Or you'll regret it!" Jiang Qi kindly warned the gang as he opened the door to the Holding Cell and locked me inside. 0

"Jiang Ling, you need to stay strong!" Jiang Qi said, unlocking my handcuffs and giving my shoulder a reassuring pat before turning to leave. 0

"Haha, another newcomer! Friend, why don't you sing us a song? Then we'll decide whether or not to beat you up!" The criminals sprang to their feet as soon as they heard Jiang Qi's footsteps fade away, grinning wickedly as they surrounded me. 0

"Oh, Yellow-Haired Leopard, what song do you want to hear?" I scanned the Holding Cell and spotted a person with striking yellow hair—none other than the thug I had encountered earlier, Yellow-Haired Leopard. The group behind him were all his lackeys. 0

"Ah! So it's you, Master! My mistake! My mistake!" Yellow-Haired Leopard's expression changed to one of panic as he recognized me, quickly leading his followers to retreat at a distance. 0
