The Round Seal was carved onto my chest by my master during my studies of Taoist Magic, sealing away the Daoist Magic within me. At the same time, it slowed the growth of my internal power. Despite my high potential, I had only reached the status of Daoist Sect Cultivator Title after all this time.
Initially, I thought the Round Seal was merely a shackle imposed by my master. However, after seeing Jiang Bao's Round Seal, which was a completely new rune seal containing incredibly powerful Daoist Magic, my perspective changed. Yet even now, I still did not fully understand the true purpose of the Round Seal.
"What is happening!" I wiped away the blood on my chest, making the design of the Round Seal clearer. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the Round Seal had changed.
Strange patterns had appeared on the Round Seal, connecting previously unrelated symbols into a dense web. What caught my attention most was a palm-sized black shadow in the center of the Round Seal. The shadow twisted slightly, resembling a giant Leech attached to the Round Seal, feeding on my internal power.
"Is that the Three-Eyed Ghost Beast!" As soon as I recognized the shape of the shadow, a guess formed in my mind. However, I remembered throwing that Three-Eyed Ghost Beast into the reservoir back home and wondered when it had managed to burrow back into my body.
"Woof Woof~~" The Three-Eyed Ghost Beast seemed to sense my gaze and sprang out from within the Round Seal, transforming into a fist-sized black dog. It quickly jumped onto my shoulder and began licking my face incessantly.
"Ugh! That's disgusting! You can lick me all you want, but what’s with spitting on my face? Stop it right now!" My face became wet as I frowned and hurriedly reached up to grab the Three-Eyed Ghost Beast. It obediently lay in my palm, burped loudly, and spat out a pile of broken teeth.
Upon closer inspection, I realized those broken teeth belonged to the two Demon Beasts that fed on human blood. I rubbed the Three-Eyed Ghost Beast's round belly and asked in confusion, "Did those two Demon Beasts' Voodoo fail because of you?"
"Woof Woof~~" The Three-Eyed Ghost Beast understood me and nodded its head while gesturing with its front paws, proudly describing how it had devoured those two Demon Beasts.
"I didn't expect you to save my life; you're not completely useless after all! From now on, I'll allow you to stay inside me!" I patted the Three-Eyed Ghost Beast's head and smiled at its cute appearance, feeling an inexplicable sense of joy.
"By the way! I haven't named you yet!" I pondered for a moment before saying, "You look like a dog and always seem to be grinning; I'll call you Dog Treasure from now on!"
"Woof Woof~~" The Three-Eyed Ghost Beast barked happily, wagging its tail and rubbing its head against my palm. After a while, it suddenly darted back into the Round Seal on my chest.
The Three-Eyed Ghost Beast entered the Round Seal, and its body transformed into a dozen black shadows, darting around within the Round Seal. It quickly connected all the runes, causing the entire Round Seal to emit a bright light and begin spinning rapidly. Dog Treasure had fully activated the Round Seal.
"What is happening?" I felt my chest growing hotter and hotter, the area where the Round Seal manifested turning bright red, almost as if it were about to be scorched. However, I sensed a familiar Daoist Magic surging from within the Round Seal, all of it flowing into my Dantian.
"Oh my, could it be that my discarded Daoist Magic has returned?" A look of ecstatic joy spread across my face as I felt the Daoist Magic in my Dantian growing more and more powerful. It continued to swell until my Daoist Magic reached its former level, at which point the Round Seal on my chest ceased its rotation.
"Woof Woof~~" Dog Treasure's head popped out from the Round Seal, letting out a weak bark. It shook its head a few times before diving back into the Round Seal.
After a moment, the Round Seal on my chest retracted back into my body. I vaguely touched upon one of its functions: it could secretly restore my depleted magical power, but other uses of the Round Seal remained to be explored.
"Haha, my Daoist Magic is restored! I've been so lucky lately!" I let out a wild laugh, feeling elated to the extreme, even questioning whether all of this was just an illusion created by that ghost. Yet the pain in my chest and the corruption from Voodoo in my left hand told me that everything was indeed real.
I delved into my Dantian and saw that it was divided into two areas. One area was filled with golden Buddhist Power, where my Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Buddha Manifestation floated in a halo of light. A profound Buddhist Scripture hovered in front of the Buddha Manifestation, which seemed to be contemplating the teachings within.
In the other area, white Daoist Magic filled the space. To my surprise, I found that the Round Seal was floating within my Dantian, with Dog Treasure curled up on top of it, sound asleep. I could sense everything clearly.
I withdrew my consciousness and couldn't hide the smile on my face any longer. I moved my right hand and said impatiently, "It's been a while since I've used Taoist Magic! I'll give it a try now!"
I drew some of my blood with my right hand and quickly traced a complex talisman in the air while chanting: "Separation Fire descend, eradicate spirits; evil entities obstructing me turn to dust! Lingling, Earth Spirit, Supreme Old Lord heed this command! Separation Fire Talisman, decree!"
As soon as I finished speaking, the talisman in midair transformed into a wisp of flame that flashed through the air like a firework. My heart surged with joy as I watched the vanishing flame; I knew for certain that my magical power had indeed been restored.
"Haha! With my Daoist Magic back and having cultivated a Buddhist Manifestation, I can truly be considered a rare practitioner of both Taoism and Buddhism!" I laughed heartily as I took out some clothes from my bag and changed into them. Picking up the Demon-Subduing Staff from the ground, I prepared to leave this basement. Although I had dealt with that ghost for now, my left arm was still afflicted by Voodoo; it would be best to hurry back to the Buddhist Artifact Shop.
I pushed open the iron door and stepped outside, seeing the statue on the ground, its eyes covered with red cloth, now reduced to a pile of rubble. This confirmed that the ghost had indeed been vanquished by me.
"Fortunately, my will was strong; otherwise, it would have been quite troublesome!" I shook my head in lingering fear and quickly walked toward the outside of the room. Just as I pushed open the door, I suddenly saw a figure standing outside—it was my employer, Wang Hai.
