As I stepped into the room, a strong smell of blood assaulted my senses, making me feel particularly nauseous. 0

"What is this disgusting place!" I frowned, holding my breath as I shone my flashlight around the room. 0

The room was not very large, only about a dozen square meters. In the center stood a bathtub, and next to it was a large freezer. Scattered across the floor were several medical boxes. 0

I opened one of the boxes at my feet and found it filled with many used blood bags. The front of each bag had a long slit cut into it, and the human blood inside had been drained, leaving only a few drops on the surface. 0

"These are the human blood bags that Wang Hai bought!" I opened a few more boxes and found similar contents—used blood bags. 0

"I hope there isn't any human blood in that freezer!" I frowned and quickly walked over to the freezer, pulling its door open with force. Inside, I discovered it was packed with frozen blood bags. These bags were swollen, and the blood inside was fresh, untouched. 0

"Hah, Wang Hai really is using human blood to nourish ghosts!" I let out a cold laugh. Initially, I had held onto a sliver of hope that Wang Hai was just trying to scare me. Now it seemed clear that he was indeed using living people's blood to sustain ghosts, forcibly prolonging their lives. 0

"Good and evil will eventually be rewarded; it's not that retribution doesn't come, but that the time has not yet arrived!" I thought to myself. With such heinous actions, Wang Hai would eventually face consequences. After his death, when he descended to the Underworld, someone would surely settle accounts with him. 0

I closed the freezer door again and directed my flashlight toward the bathtub—the source of the foul smell in the room. 0

"What the hell is this!" I gasped as I saw that the bathtub was filled to the brim with red human blood. The sight was so shocking that I couldn't help but take a sharp breath. I could even see that some of the blood had been sitting for a while, turning a dark red-black. 0

"Ugh! Let's focus on what needs to be done first!" I shifted my gaze away from the bathtub and began searching for the ghost that Wang Hai had raised. Given that there were too many ghosts in the basement and the overwhelming stench of blood in the room, it would be impossible to locate that ghost solely based on the residual Evil Qi in the air. Unless that ghost actively released its Evil Qi, I would have to search methodically with my flashlight, checking one spot after another. 0

After about seven or eight minutes of scanning the entire room with my flashlight, I still hadn't found any trace of the ghost. 0

I frowned and muttered to myself, "Could that ghost not be in this room? Maybe I should go outside and look around!" 0

I quickly walked toward the exit of the room. As I reached for the iron door handle, I suddenly noticed something sticky on it, and the texture felt disgusting. 0

"Damn it, I can't believe I touched something gross!" I cursed under my breath, a sense of foreboding creeping over me. I released my grip on the door and looked at my hand, discovering it was smeared with fresh red blood, emitting a sharp metallic odor. 0

My face turned pale, and my stomach churned as if I might vomit. I hurriedly wiped the blood off my hand and stepped back a few paces, bewildered as I muttered, "How could there be blood on the doorknob? I don't remember seeing any when I came in!" 0

I shone my flashlight on the handle and found it covered in blood. It couldn't have been there long since the blood was still wet. 0

"Wait! How did a bloody handprint get here?" I directed the beam lower and noticed three or four bloody handprints on the iron door. Judging by their size, they must have belonged to a child. 0

"Damn it, this is so creepy!" I cursed inwardly, already sweating coldly from fear. It dawned on me that the ghost I was looking for had been in this room all along, lurking right beside me without my knowledge, watching me from the shadows. 0

"Don't be afraid! Don't be afraid! I'm a Buddhist Master; why would I fear such a trivial ghost?" I tightened my grip on my Demon-Subduing Staff, reassuring myself loudly in my mind. As I illuminated the bloody handprints on the door with my flashlight, I began to retrace my steps to uncover the ghost's trail. 0

One thing was certain: that ghost was still hiding in this room because I hadn't heard the sound of the iron door opening, and this door was the only exit. 0

"Ghost, where are you hiding?" I pondered silently as my flashlight followed the bloody handprints down to the floor. There, I discovered a trail of bloody footprints leading to the bathtub before disappearing. 0

"Could that ghost be hiding in the bathtub?" My brow furrowed as I shone the flashlight over. The once clean edge of the bathtub was now stained with blood—something must have crawled out and then back in. 0

I directed my flashlight into the bathtub, but the blood inside was deep and dark red-black; my light couldn't reach the bottom. To find out if that ghost was indeed inside, I'd have to reach in and touch it. 0

"Hey, friend, I see you! I know you're hiding in that bathtub. Come out quickly, or I'll smash your bathtub!" I shouted loudly, waving my Demon-Subduing Staff as if to break the tub. I only intended to scare the ghost; I didn't really dare to smash the bathtub. If it broke and the blood spilled out, I wouldn't be able to stand, let alone deal with the ghost. 0

"Wait, don't smash my bathtub! I'll come out right away!" A childish voice came from inside the tub. Then, there was a ripple in the blood within, and a head emerged slowly from inside. Gradually, the ghost stood up from within. 0

"Just a kid; a little scare and he comes running out!" I muttered to myself, carefully examining the ghost before me. I noticed he appeared more mature than the previous ghosts, looking around eleven or twelve years old. 0

The ghost wore only a pair of shorts, and his hair was blood-red. He looked extremely malnourished, nothing but skin and bones. His upper body was so emaciated that I could clearly see his ribs through his skin. Strangely enough, his eyes were always closed, yet I could feel him looking at me, just like that blindfolded statue I had seen before. 0

I frowned, feeling very curious. So I said in a calm tone, "Friend, open your eyes and let Big Brother take a look!" 0

"Okay, Big Brother!" The ghost revealed a sly smile on his face as he slowly opened his eyes and looked into mine. 0
