After seven hours, Jin Yuan and I followed Yu Yuanhang back to the Buddhist Artifact Shop. Qu Liang had been called back by his family, and as for the other Yin-Yang Masters, aside from the six who had died, the rest left after clearing out the Zombies in the deep mountains.
"Finally back! This trip has really exhausted me!" Jin Yuan exclaimed as soon as she stepped into the Buddhist Artifact Shop, immediately collapsing onto the counter, not wanting to move at all.
"Jin Yuan, are you joking?" I shot her a glare, feeling speechless. During those seven hours, all of us Yin-Yang Masters were busy clearing out Low-level Zombies in the mountains. My feet were blistered, and my whole body ached. Meanwhile, Jin Yuan had been enjoying herself with Qu Liang, exploring the mountains and even climbing trees to look for bird nests.
"Haha! You think playing in Grave Hill isn't tiring?" Jin Yuan laughed shamelessly, pulling out a pair of Jade Bracelets from her backpack. She gently caressed them, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
The Jade Bracelets in Jin Yuan's hands were stolen from an ancient tomb. After Lord Qin eliminated a Corpse Demon, Yang Xiaochao led over a hundred Grave Robbers into the tomb and retrieved some treasures from seven other tombs. However, they didn't dare keep everything for themselves; they presented several of the best items to Yu Yuanhang and his three Daoist Masters. The Jade Bracelets in Jin Yuan's hands were given to Yu Yuanhang by Yang Xiaochao but were passed on to Jin Yuan.
As for the outside Grave Robbers, only about thirty managed to survive. They left Mianyang City in disgrace, no longer daring to compete with Yang Xiaochao and his group for treasures in the tomb.
"Such a money-grubber!" I thought as I watched Jin Yuan's greedy expression, shaking my head inwardly. Previously, Qu Liang and I had saved Yang Xiaochao's life; the three of us had teamed up against Liu Yunchong, forming a bond that could be called life-and-death friends. Naturally, Yang Xiaochao shared some of his treasures from the tomb with Qu Liang as well; it was just that others were unaware of it.
I carried my luggage into the resting room and locked the door behind me before starting to sort through my gains from this tomb raiding expedition.
This trip had been full of twists and turns. First, I encountered Grave Robber Liu Yunchong on the train, who stole my treasure map and left me severely injured. Then I went to the ancient tomb with Yu Yuanhang and his group but ended up being pushed into a Corpse Pit where I could only exorcise Undead spirits without even stepping foot inside the palace of the tomb. In the end, Qu Liang and I were chased by Zombies from within the tomb and nearly lost our lives at Liu Yunchong's hands. It was clear that tomb raiding was not something ordinary people could handle.
However, as they say, every cloud has a silver lining. If our treasure map hadn't been stolen, Qu Liang and I might have entered the tomb alone; otherwise, we would likely have become corpses ourselves. Just thinking about it now still sends shivers down my spine.
"Fortunately, I found a piece of bronzeware at the bottom of the Corpse Pit; otherwise, this trip would have been for nothing!" I opened my backpack and pulled out a fist-sized piece of bronzeware. After spending seven hours chasing Zombies, I finally had time to clean off the decaying flesh stuck to it.
"I hope this is something valuable; I'm counting on it for Loli's living expenses next month!" I thought to myself as I grabbed a damp cloth and began scrubbing vigorously at the bronzeware.
After more than an hour, I changed the water seven times and ruined two towels before finally cleaning the bronze artifact.
"This is a Bronze Cauldron! I'm rich, I'm rich!" I exclaimed, holding the bronze piece in my hands with an excited smile. I had specifically asked Yang Xiaochao about it and learned that the Bronze Cauldron was a type of antique that was relatively easy to sell and quite valuable. The cauldron in front of me was about the size of a fist and was well-preserved; it could easily fetch three to four million.
"Wait? Why is there a Five-Clawed Golden Dragon engraved on it?" I examined the surface of the cauldron closely and noticed the Dragon Shadow engraved on it. Counting the claws, I found it had exactly five.
"One Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, two Five-Clawed Golden Dragons... nine Five-Clawed Golden Dragons!" I counted the dragons, and there were precisely nine of them, all facing the opening of the Bronze Cauldron with their mouths open, as if they were breathing fire into it.
"This can't be the Nine-Dragon Cauldron, can it?!" My smile froze. Although I hadn't entered the ancient tomb's palace or seen the actual Nine-Dragon Cauldron, I had heard descriptions from others and knew its distinctive features. If Lord Qin were here, he would instantly recognize that the Bronze Cauldron in my hands was indeed the Yin Yang Nine Nectar Cauldron, but I didn't know him.
"This thing was found in that ancient tomb and has nine Five-Clawed Golden Dragons engraved on it. However, it's too different from what they described about the Nine-Dragon Cauldron; it shouldn't be the real Nine-Dragon Cauldron!" I said somewhat nervously. There's a saying: "A common man is innocent, but possessing a treasure can lead to trouble." If this truly was the Nine-Dragon Cauldron, given my current cultivation level, once exposed, I would definitely be killed. The rumors about the Nine-Dragon Cauldron containing an Elixir of Immortality would attract too many people vying for it.
"It seems this thing can't be sold!" I frowned, weighing the pros and cons before deciding to keep the Bronze Cauldron for myself. My intuition told me that this Bronze Cauldron was definitely related to the Nine-Dragon Cauldron. I didn't dare take the risk of bringing it out; besides, if it really was the Nine-Dragon Cauldron, I could achieve immortality!
"Haha! Immortality—just thinking about it makes me a bit excited!" Feeling pleased, I placed the bronze artifact on my bedside table and took out my phone to play with it.
Perhaps because I had been too tired lately, after just ten minutes of playing on my phone, I started yawning uncontrollably. So, I tossed my phone aside and lay down on my bed; within ten seconds, I fell asleep.
"Zzz... Zzz..." Soon enough, my snoring filled the room. At that moment, something changed with the Nine-Dragon Cauldron on my bedside table; a wisp of white mist floated out from inside it and entered my body through my nostrils.
I noticed that the scratches from being attacked by zombies were slowly healing; fresh flesh began to grow back little by little. After about ten minutes, all my wounds were healed, even the blisters on my feet had disappeared.
Once my injuries were fully healed, the white mist that had emerged from the Nine-Dragon Cauldron entered my chest's Round Seal and began to gradually restore my depleted Daoist Magic. However, I remained completely unaware of what was happening outside.
On the side of the road outside the Buddhist Artifact Shop, Wang Xinyu stood behind a lamppost, his hands clenched into tight fists. His gaze was filled with resentment as he looked inside the shop, muttering through gritted teeth, "Jiang Ling, you finally showed up! It's time for me to take my revenge!"
