"Wu Jingye furrowed his brow as he exclaimed, 'Why is the Corpse Qi so heavy all of a sudden!' Holding a Peach Wood Sword in his hand, he quickly made his way toward the stone coffin. The other four Yin-Yang Masters also looked grave, pulling out their talismans and surrounding the coffin.
Wu Jingye had merely stood by and watched coldly earlier. Even when Dillingchar ordered his men to remove the female corpse, he only frowned slightly without voicing any objections.
Now, however, the sound of a child's crying emanated from within the coffin, accompanied by a thick wave of Corpse Qi that seeped out. Wu Jingye could no longer stand idly by.
Dillingchar, closest to the coffin, turned pale upon hearing the child's cries, his legs trembling. Yet he stubbornly insisted, 'This is just a trick! How could there be a child in that coffin? We must be hallucinating!'
'You two go check if there's really a child in there!' Dillingchar said, stepping back several paces in fear while ordering his subordinates to investigate the coffin.
'Understood, Mr. Dilling!' two Mercenaries replied. They grabbed their flashlights and approached the coffin. The American Soldiers, who only believed in Jesus and dismissed the existence of ghosts or monsters, thought they were merely experiencing illusions despite hearing the eerie cries of an infant.
From the moment the baby's cries echoed from within the coffin to Dillingchar's command to the two Mercenaries, barely thirty seconds had passed. Wu Jingye wanted to intervene but was too late.
The two Mercenaries reached the side of the coffin and shone their lights inside, illuminating its interior. In the center lay a baby weighing around seven or eight pounds; the cries were indeed coming from its mouth.
'Wah wah~~' The baby's body was covered in putrid corpse water, its skin an unsettling shade of black. Feeling the harsh light, it quickly covered its eyes with its hands and cried even louder.
'Mr. Dilling, there really is a baby inside this coffin!' Despite their disbelief in supernatural beings, seeing the living baby inside sent waves of fear through both Mercenaries.
'Kill that baby!' Dillingchar growled with a fierce expression; he would show no mercy to anything that threatened his existence.
'Yes, Mr. Dilling!' The two Mercenaries were seasoned warriors with blood on their hands; they would obey their employer's orders without hesitation—even if it meant killing an infant.
With sharp daggers in hand, they exchanged glances filled with murderous intent and swiftly lunged toward the baby's neck."
"Wah wah~~" The baby continued to cry inside the stone coffin. Just as the two Mercenaries made their move, he suddenly stopped crying, lowered his hands from his eyes, revealing a pair of eerie red pupils.
"You killed my mother, so I will kill you to avenge her!" The baby spoke in a garbled voice. In an instant, he leaped out of the coffin and landed on one of the Mercenaries' heads.
"I will kill you! I will kill you!" The Demon Baby repeated this phrase, clutching the Mercenary's head and biting towards his nose.
Though the Demon Baby had no teeth, he clamped down tightly on the Mercenary's nose and then yanked hard, tearing it off completely. Scalding blood gushed forth, splattering across the Demon Baby's face, making him appear even more terrifying.
"Ah! Damn it, get off me!" The Mercenary let out a scream, crouching down in pain as he frantically tried to grab at the Demon Baby on his head. The Demon Baby was incredibly agile, easily dodging the Mercenary's hands while remaining perched atop his head.
"I will kill you! I will kill you!" The Demon Baby kept repeating. He tossed the severed nose into his mouth and chewed loudly a few times before swallowing it whole.
After consuming human flesh, the Corpse Qi surrounding the Demon Baby became even more violent. He extended his hands toward the Mercenary's eyes.
The Demon Baby's palms were smaller than the Mercenary's eyeballs, but they were enveloped in Corpse Qi, resembling scissors as they pierced into the Mercenary's eye sockets. His fingers dug into the eyeballs, and with a strong pull, he yanked them out.
"I will kill you! Kill you!" The Demon Baby shouted continuously as he stuffed the eyeballs into his mouth. He chewed vigorously, white liquid oozing from the corners of his mouth, echoing throughout the stone chamber with the sounds of him devouring the eyeballs.
"Ah! Mmm!" The Mercenary let out a muffled groan after having his eyes gouged out and collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
All of this happened so quickly that it took just over twenty seconds.
"Don't come near me! You demon!" The other Mercenary trembled in fear, throwing away his dagger and running towards the exit of the stone chamber. All he could think about was escaping; he had no time to consider Dillingchar's orders.
"I will kill you! Kill you!" The Demon Baby swallowed the eyeballs in his mouth, and his eyes turned an even deeper shade of red. In a flash, he jumped towards the fleeing Mercenary's head.
“Demon, do not be arrogant!” Wu Jingye finally reached the stone coffin, swinging his Peach Wood Sword at the Demon Baby, sending it flying to the ground.
“Wah wah~~” The Demon Baby cried out in a shrill voice after being struck by the Peach Wood Sword. It got up from the ground, fearfully looking at Wu Jingye in front of it.
“Lingling, Earth Spirit, Supreme Old Lord, heed my command! Command!” The other four Yin-Yang Masters rushed over, skillfully casting Daoist Spells that bombarded the Demon Baby.
Before being sealed in the coffin, the female corpse must have been pregnant for no less than seven months. The child died inside her womb, eventually forming this Demon Baby.
The corpse of the woman could suppress the aura of the Demon Baby, which was why Wu Jingye had not detected its presence immediately. Once the corpse was destroyed, the Demon Baby emerged.
Though the Eerie Aura surrounding the newly born Demon Baby was thick, it had yet to master any formidable ghostly techniques. Its abilities might work against ordinary people, but against a Daoist Sect expert like Wu Jingye, it could only resign itself to defeat. Moreover, there were four other capable Yin-Yang Masters nearby.
“Wah wah~~” The Demon Baby let out a low cry as it was cornered against the wall of the stone chamber. Its body was covered in wounds, black blood oozing from its injuries and emitting a pungent corpse stench.
Wu Jingye worried that the Demon Baby might retaliate in its final moments. His expression turned serious as he sliced his fingertip, applying a smear of Blood Demon onto his Peach Wood Sword. Then he quickly cast a spell with his left hand while chanting: “Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods, Exorcise Demons and Eliminate Spirits, Three Pure Ones Bestow Divine Power! Spirit Severing Technique, command!”
As soon as Wu Jingye finished his incantation, he slashed down with his Peach Wood Sword at the Demon Baby. A beam of white light pierced through its body, scattering its soul into oblivion.
