I glanced at the Evil Insect Master and noticed that the bell in his hand had changed. The bell was now a clever Bronze Artifact, emanating a strong aura of the Daoist Sect, looking quite extraordinary. 0

"When did this person appear?" I saw a tall figure following the Evil Insect Master, cloaked in black robes, giving me a strong sense of oppression. This figure had not made a move until now, and I had no idea when it had emerged. 0

I became alert internally, though I did not show it on the surface. I cast a disdainful glance at the Evil Insect Master, reached up to scratch my ear, and provocatively said, "Evil Insect Master, you really talk too much! If you have the ability, come kill me!" 0

"You foul monk, even when death is imminent, your tongue is still sharp. Once I kill you, I will definitely cut out your tongue, sever all your limbs, and refine you into the most hideous Walking Corpse!" The Evil Insect Master's eyes glinted with malice as he stared at me intently. He shook the bell in his hand while muttering strange incantations. 0

"Something's off; why can't I hear any sound?" My brow furrowed as I gripped my Demon-Subduing Staff tightly and instinctively took a few steps back. Strangely enough, I could see the Evil Insect Master shaking the bell vigorously, but not a single sound escaped. 0

Suddenly, the Evil Insect Master opened his mouth and spat a mouthful of old blood onto the bell. With a frenzied expression, he shouted, "Come forth! My refined Bronze Corpse! Kill this foul monk for me!" 0

"Roar!" The figure behind the Evil Insect Master let out a roar. It forcefully tore apart its black robe, revealing its true form. 0

The Bronze Corpse was covered in a layer of bronze liquid, boasting formidable defenses. Even with my Demon-Subduing Staff in hand, it would be difficult to break through the bronze plates without any magical power backing me up. 0

What was worse was that the Bronze Corpse had transcended the realm of Walking Corpses; it belonged to a lower class of Zombie but was different from regular Zombies. Zombies possessed their own consciousness and exhibited high intelligence akin to humans. However, the Bronze Corpse had its soul forcibly sealed during its refinement process. Although it retained some fragmented awareness, it lacked true sentience. 0

While the Bronze Corpse might not be as powerful as those formidable Zombies, under the control of the Evil Insect Master, it was far more dangerous than any Walking Corpse. 0

"To think it's a Bronze Corpse! This is troublesome!" Looking at the Bronze Corpse before me, my fighting spirit waned. The Bronze Corpse was too powerful for me to handle right now. 0

"The best strategy is to retreat! Staying alive is paramount!" My eyes scanned around for an escape route. The Evil Insect Master saw through my thoughts and revealed a sinister smile as he coldly said, "Foul monk, it's too late to think about running now!" 0

The Evil Insect Master leisurely shook the bell in his hand while behind him, the Bronze Corpse's eyes glowed with an eerie red light as it fixed its gaze on me. All I could see in its eyes was brutality—nothing else. 0

The Bronze Corpse twisted its neck with a series of cracking sounds before moving like a blur toward me. 0

"This Bronze Corpse is way too fast!" As I watched it charge toward me, I felt an overwhelming pressure bearing down on me. Alarmed, I quickly raised my Demon-Subduing Staff in front of me to block its incoming hands. 0

The strength of the Bronze Corpse was immense; although I managed to block its hands, my arms went numb from the impact and I stumbled back several steps. Gritting my teeth, I desperately held my ground against the Bronze Corpse. 0

"Roar!" Seeing that I hadn’t fallen, the Bronze Corpse let out an enraged roar. One hand tightly grasped my Demon-Subduing Staff while the other lunged directly at my chest. 0

The Bronze Corpse struck with incredible speed. I immediately released my grip on the Demon-Subduing Staff and didn’t even attempt to dodge its attack. I was sent flying through the air by a powerful blow, crashing heavily to the ground. My body rolled several times before finally coming to a stop. 0

"Cough, cough, damn it, that was brutal!" Struggling to get up from the ground, I felt every bone in my body ache as if they were about to fall apart. 0

"You filthy monk, die!" The Evil Insect Master saw my miserable state and a sinister smile crept across his face. He shook the bell in his hand, controlling the Bronze Corpse as it charged at me once more. 0

"Seriously, do you have to be this ruthless?" Seeing the Bronze Corpse coming at me, I had no choice but to turn and run toward the dock. The Evil Insect Master controlled the Bronze Corpse to pursue me relentlessly, sending me flying again and again without rushing to kill me. 0

"Damn it, Evil Insect Master, just wait!" I had lost count of how many times I had been knocked away. All I knew was that I had coughed up blood more than ten times and my head felt like it had been smashed into a pulp—worse than Lin Ziran’s condition. I desperately crawled up from the ground, wiped the blood from my mouth, and staggered toward the dock. 0

I was getting closer to the dock, just a few more steps away. 0

The Bronze Corpse was wrapped in copper water, which enhanced its defense but also presented a fatal weakness: it was afraid of water. If the Bronze Corpse fell into the water, its body would sink directly underwater. This was my only chance to deal with the Bronze Corpse. 0

Seeing where I was running, the Evil Insect Master naturally saw through my plan. He scoffed disdainfully and said, "Hmph, filthy monk, you may think of many things, but you won't have a chance!" 0

"Bronze Corpse, kill him now!" The Evil Insect Master's eyes glinted with murderous intent as he commanded the Bronze Corpse to stop playing with me and go for the kill. 0

"Roar!" The Bronze Corpse let out a roar. It pushed off with its legs and charged toward me at high speed. Grabbing my shoulders tightly, it lifted me off the ground and pulled hard. 0

"Ah! That hurts!" I screamed in agony, tears streaming down my face. I could even hear the sound of bones grinding inside me; it felt like being torn apart by five horses. 0

"Haha, filthy monk, your time has come!" The Evil Insect Master laughed maniacally as he approached me confidently and unhurriedly. 0

"Evil Insect Master, your good days are over!" A fierce glint flashed in my eyes as I shouted at him. I had been waiting for this moment—a chance to eliminate the Bronze Corpse in one go. Now that opportunity had finally arrived. 0

"Let go of me!" I bit down hard on my tongue until it bled and spat a mouthful of Tongue Blood into the eyes of the Bronze Corpse—the only part not covered in copper water. 0

"Roar!" As Tongue Blood dripped into its eyes, it burned the Bronze Corpse's eyeballs. Black Corpse Qi erupted from its eye sockets as it let out a painful howl. It released me and crouched down on the ground, covering its eyes in agony. 0

"This is bad! Get up now!" The Evil Insect Master’s expression changed to one of panic upon seeing this scene. He frantically shook the bell in his hand, trying desperately to regain control over the Bronze Corpse to finish me off. 0

Unfortunately, I never gave the Evil Insect Master another chance to control the Bronze Corpse. I raised my right hand, revealing the Buddhist Seal I had secretly etched in blood on my palm. 0

"Buddhist Sect, with compassion, transcend all souls, suppress all evils, Namo Amitabha Buddha!" I sincerely chanted a phrase of Buddhist scripture in my heart, channeling all my Buddhist Power into the swastika on my right hand, directing it toward the Bronze Corpse's Spirit Cover. 0

My palm struck the Bronze Corpse's head, stunning it momentarily. I knew this blow wouldn't be powerful enough to disperse the Bronze Corpse's soul, but it would be enough to temporarily sever the connection between the Bronze Corpse and the Evil Insect Master. 0

I dug my nails into my palm, drawing blood that flowed freely. Without changing my expression, I let the blood drip onto the Bronze Corpse's face as I began to retreat slowly, taunting, "Foolish Bronze Corpse, come chase me!" 0

"Roar!" With the Evil Insect Master's control gone, the Bronze Corpse was left with only its primal instincts. As it tasted blood in its mouth, it let out a roar and lunged at me like a mad beast. 0

"Stop! Please stop! You have to stop!" The Evil Insect Master watched in horror as his expression twisted into one of rage. He shook his bell frantically and rushed forward in an attempt to intercept the Bronze Corpse. 0

But it was too late; his arrogance had doomed that Bronze Corpse. We heard two splashes from the dock as I jumped into the river with the Bronze Corpse. 0

I swam effortlessly in the water while the Bronze Corpse struggled a few times before sinking completely to the riverbed, disappearing from sight. 0

"How could this happen! How could this happen!" The Evil Insect Master stared in disbelief at where the Bronze Corpse had vanished. Despair washed over him as he sat down heavily on the ground, his eyes becoming somewhat vacant. 0
