As soon as Jiang Bao's words fell, a strange wind suddenly whipped up in front of him. This eerie wind lifted the ashes of the Human Skin Paper Spirit, causing them to float in mid-air and begin to spin slowly, gaining speed with each passing moment.
Jiang Bao looked up at the swirling air, feeling the malevolent aura emanating from it. He couldn't help but swallow nervously. Turning back to glance at the path home, he muttered to himself, "Where is Brother Jiang Ling? Has he gotten lost? I need to go back and check."
With that, Jiang Bao immediately turned and ran back down the path toward home. The strange wind, noticing his movement, began to follow him closely, hovering ominously above his head.
"Damn it, this is really relentless!" Jiang Bao exclaimed as he heard a voice from above. He looked up and saw that the strange wind had grown dark and foreboding. In the center of this wind, a figure was slowly taking shape.
Seeing the figure within the wind, Jiang Bao's expression grew complex. He sighed and shook his head, saying, "I never expected that Human Skin Paper Spirit would attract an avatar of an Evil God. Such a one-in-a-thousand chance actually happened; I must be incredibly unlucky! I wonder which Evil God has been summoned this time?"
Having given up on fleeing any further, Jiang Bao returned to the abandoned school at the village entrance. He found an open area and began to set up a defensive array.
After five or six minutes, the figure of the Evil God finally coalesced in mid-air just as Jiang Bao completed his array on the ground.
Jiang Bao gazed at the figure of the Evil God with a grave expression. He drew out a Copper Coin Sword from his belongings and lamented, "This is the last Copper Coin Sword I've been secretly keeping; I didn't expect to have to use it so soon!"
Pulling on the red string attached to the Copper Coin Sword, it instantly transformed into a pile of copper coins. Gripping all the coins tightly in his palm, a glint of determination flashed in his eyes as he prepared to take action first. With all his strength, he hurled the copper coins toward the Evil God in mid-air while swiftly weaving a spell with his hands.
"Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods. Bowing to the Three Pure Ones above and honoring the Demon God below. Scatter wealth to dispel disaster; throw money to summon soldiers. Divine Weapon assist me; annihilate this Evil God. Command!"
After casting his final spell, Jiang Bao bit his tongue until it bled and sprayed his blood onto the copper coins floating in mid-air. Once he completed this ritual, golden light radiated from the coins as fist-sized soldiers appeared in the air.
Previously, he had summoned Ghost Soldiers; now he was summoning Divine Weapons. Ghost Soldiers belonged to the Underworld and were messengers of spirits, while Divine Weapons were celestial soldiers—one representing yin and the other yang. Jiang Bao employed this tactic against the Evil God considering their opposing natures.
"Bold Evil God! How dare you wreak havoc among mortals! Surrender now! Brothers, attack!" As soon as the Divine Weapons appeared, they charged toward the Evil God in mid-air with fierce intent.
"Hmph, a bunch of insignificant shrimp and crab soldiers dare to speak so boldly in front of me! Truly unaware of their own mortality!" The Evil God scoffed disdainfully, waving his hand through the air towards the Divine Weapons. As soon as those imposing Divine Weapons encountered the Evil God's hand, they were instantly reduced to ashes, utterly powerless against him.
"Seriously? These Divine Weapons are just pathetic!" Jiang Bao grimaced at the sight unfolding above him, his expression turning grim.
After dispatching the Divine Weapons, the Evil God appeared right in front of Jiang Bao. Dressed in a striking black trench coat, he looked incredibly handsome, but the only flaw was the ugly red horn protruding from the center of his forehead, emanating a strong aura of evil.
Feeling the oppressive presence radiating from the Evil God, Jiang Bao gritted his teeth and sat down abruptly, quickly casting a Spell on the ground.
"Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods. Three Pure Ones above, protect us. Eighteen Linked Talismans, command!"
As he completed the final incantation, eighteen silver talismans floated around him, forming a solid barrier that shielded Jiang Bao at its center.
Not daring to be careless, Jiang Bao glanced back anxiously and called out, " Brother Jiang Ling, you need to hurry up! Otherwise, something truly terrible is going to happen!"
The Evil God watched with interest as the eighteen talismans hovered nearby. He circled around Jiang Bao leisurely and said expressionlessly, "Eighteen Linked Talismans, quite interesting! But still lacking in potency; these eighteen Silver Talismans are completely useless before me. Break for me!"
With that, the Evil God extended his right hand and casually swiped at the formation. The eighteen talismans seemed to react violently, exploding towards his palm.
"Hmph, break for me!" The Evil God snorted coldly, disregarding the attacks from the talismans as he tore through the Eighteen Linked Talismans. As soon as the formation shattered, the eighteen Silver Talismans disintegrated into ash, their attacks vanishing without a trace.
Witnessing the power of the Evil God, Jiang Bao's face turned pale. He stood up from the ground and locked eyes with the Evil God, his tone icy as he declared, "I know who you are now! Do we really have to go this far? Evil God Li Mengfeng!"
"Haha, I didn't expect you to see through my disguise! You truly are famous in Ghost Street, Jiang Bao!” The Evil God laughed heartily and met Jiang Bao's gaze without flinching. “Now it’s not up to you anymore; I, Li Mengfeng, am personally taking action. You’d better not hold back. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee you won’t die by my hand!”
No sooner had Li Mengfeng finished speaking than he suddenly threw a punch straight at Jiang Bao's chest. Caught off guard, Jiang Bao was sent flying without any chance to evade.
Jiang Bao stood up from the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. His eyes were filled with murderous intent as he coldly said, "You forced my hand!"
He forcefully tore open his shirt, revealing a muscular torso adorned with a strange symbol on his chest. If I were there, I would recognize it at a glance; that symbol was the emblem of the Round Seal.
"Now this is more like it! Jiang Bao, you can't escape this time!" Li Mengfeng's eyes glinted with a hint of glee as he saw Jiang Bao reveal the Round Seal. He muttered to himself, not seizing the opportunity to attack Jiang Bao but rather looking forward to him breaking the seal.
Jiang Bao's expression turned frenzied as he bit into his fingertip and drew a peculiar sigil in his palm. Once the sigil was complete, he slapped it onto the Round Seal on his chest. The moment the two sigils collided, they instantly vanished without a trace.
"Ah!" Jiang Bao let out a long howl as he broke the Round Seal. His aura grew stronger and stronger, almost rivaling that of the Evil God before him.
At that instant, Wu Jingye, who had been performing a ritual, paused his actions. He turned to face Jiang Bao's direction, a satisfied smile spreading across his face as he said, "Finally, it's begun!"
At the same time, I felt a powerful aura emanating from afar. Suddenly, my chest felt warm, and I quickly removed my shirt to see that the Round Seal had reappeared on my chest. I scrutinized the symbol closely, confirming that it was indeed the Round Seal, and an unavoidable sense of defeat washed over me.
I put my shirt back on and looked ahead in confusion. "What exactly is happening? No, Jiang Bao is still out there; I need to hurry over!"
After breaking the Round Seal, Jiang Bao picked up his Peach Wood Sword again and glared at Li Mengfeng with killing intent. His voice was icy as he asked, "Are you satisfied now?"
