"Dammit, how can this Sophora Tree Demon be a Loli!" I looked at the appearance of the Sophora Tree Demon and felt a bit hesitant. I forcefully halted my Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword.
"Thank you, **Master, for sparing me!" The face of the Sophora Tree Demon broke into a smile as she spoke in a delicate voice.
"Is this girl the true form of the Sophora Tree Demon, or is she the girl that the Sophora Tree Demon killed?!" Although I didn't strike, I raised my Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword in front of me to prevent any surprise attack from the Sophora Tree Demon. The Sophora Tree Demon had yet to realize that I had seen through its disguise. It continued to control the girl's soul and said to me in a sweet tone, "Master, I am a righteous Tree Demon, and I have never harmed anyone. Could you please let me go?"
"If you are indeed a righteous demon, then letting you go wouldn't be an issue!" A cold smile crept onto my face as I picked up my Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword and approached the Sophora Tree Demon. "However, you must agree to one condition!"
"What condition?" asked the Sophora Tree Demon.
I stepped closer to her and used my Yin-Yang Eyes to pinpoint the location of the old man within the tree trunk. Then I said, "The condition is that you release that girl's soul!"
Before my words had fully settled, my hand thrust forward with the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword, aiming straight for the old man inside the trunk.
The Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword, being an exceptional artifact, possessed power far beyond what this Tree Demon could withstand. It sliced through the trunk of the Sophora Tree as easily as cutting tofu and impaled itself directly onto the old man's soul.
"I did it!" Seeing my ambush succeed brought a smile to my face. I thought to myself that once I eliminated the soul of the Sophora Tree Demon, no one would control the girl's soul anymore.
"Die, you Tree Demon! Prepare to meet your end!" With my right hand gripping the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword, I rendered the soul of the Sophora Tree Demon immobile. Then, I bit my fingertip and drew a talisman on the trunk.
I clenched the Seal in my left hand and shouted loudly, "Upper Three Pure Ones, Worldly Dao Sovereign! Six Ding Six Jia, lend me your divine power! Exterminate demons and eradicate evil, heed my command!"
"Exterminate Demon Order, decree!" I cast the final Seal and then slapped my left hand against the Sophora Tree.
As my hand struck the talisman on the tree, it flashed with a red light and transformed into a Command Character, embedding itself into the trunk of the Sophora Tree and marking the soul of the Sophora Tree Demon.
"Ah! No!" The Sophora Tree Demon let out a wretched scream as its soul was shattered by more than half; just one more blow would send it into oblivion.
"Hmph, old Tree Demon, take another hit from me!" I snorted coldly, gripping the Seal in my left hand, ready to deliver the final blow to the Sophora Tree Demon.
At that moment, the girl's soul rushed in front of me, her face contorted in pain as she pleaded, "Master, please don't strike! Spare my life!"
"Eh? How can this be?" I used my Yin-Yang Eyes to examine the girl's soul and discovered that it had also dissipated significantly.
Seeing my confusion, the girl explained, "Master, my soul has already merged with the Sophora Tree Demon's. If you kill it, I will perish too! Please, spare us!"
Upon hearing her words, I quickly focused my Yin-Yang Eyes on the Beard entwined with her soul. To my dismay, I found that those Beards had deeply integrated into her essence; she and the Sophora Tree Demon were now one. Even if I severed those Beards, it would be futile.
"Sigh, this is troublesome!" I furrowed my brow and sighed deeply. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to strike and reluctantly released the Seal from my left hand.
The girl smiled when she saw me undoing the Seal. With a sweet voice, she said, "Thank you for sparing me, Master!"
"Jiang Ling, watch out for the branches above!" Suddenly, Jiang Bao's voice rang out. I quickly looked up and saw four or five branches coming down towards my head.
If it hadn't been for Jiang Bao's warning, I would have definitely been caught off guard; I might have already been knocked unconscious by the Sophora Tree Demon.
"Damn it, how dare you ambush me!" My expression changed as I quickly drew the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword from the tree trunk. I managed to block three of the branches with it, but one still struck me.
Although the last branch didn't hit my head, it slammed into my back, and I immediately felt a fiery pain that brought tears to my eyes.
"Damn it, I won't let you get away with this!" Gritting my teeth, I rubbed my back and hurriedly stepped back, retreating out of the attack range of the Sophora Tree Demon.
At that moment, Jiang Bao walked over, a smug look on his face as he asked with a grin, " Brother Jiang Ling, are you okay?"
"Stop with your sarcastic remarks; I'll beat you up!" I shot Jiang Bao a glare and said irritably, "Jiang Bao, why didn’t you help me block that? Did you know about this Sophora Tree Demon all along?"
Jiang Bao nodded, a sheepish smile on his face. " Brother Jiang Ling, Master knows you're too kind-hearted to strike against weaker Evil Spirits. That's why he left this Sophora Tree Demon for you to deal with; he wanted to toughen your resolve!"
After hearing Jiang Bao's words, I silently stared at the Sophora Tree Demon in front of me. It took me three or four minutes before I sighed deeply and shook my head. "Jiang Bao, Master might be right; I shouldn't be so indecisive!"
I glanced at the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword in my hand and spoke seriously. "Master entrusted me with the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword because he wants me to inherit his will and make my own choices! Now, I've made my choice!"
A sudden clarity emerged in my mind, and a strong conviction filled my heart. A gleam flashed in my eyes as I pointed the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword at the Sophora Tree Demon and declared, "My choice is to eradicate the Evil Cultivation monsters and demons in this world and uphold the righteous path within my heart!"
As soon as I finished speaking, an intense surge of magical power emanated from my body. I infused my Vital Energy into the Seven Star Mysterious Dragon Sword and shouted as I charged toward the Sophora Tree Demon.
