When I returned to my dad's clinic, it was already four in the morning. Taking advantage of the fact that he was still asleep, I quickly changed out of my clothes, took a shower, and then lay down on the bed to sleep. 0

I had been busy all day and was utterly exhausted. As soon as I lay down, I fell asleep immediately. When I finally woke up, it was already noon. 0

I got up and washed up a bit, but didn’t see my dad anywhere. I walked over to the fridge and noticed a note taped to the door. 0

I ripped off the note and read the message: "Son, I have something to take care of and will be back in a few days. There’s some money in the drawer for you to use." 0

A wave of frustration washed over me as I tossed the note into the trash can. Then I opened the drawer of the desk beside me and found three hundred yuan inside. 0

I stuffed the three hundred yuan into my pocket and rubbed my chin, saying, "Given this situation, it looks like the old man won’t be back for at least six days!" 0

The reason I thought it would be six days was that my dad had a habit of leaving me living expenses based on fifty yuan for each day he was away. 0

The thought of being alone for six days made me feel a bit excited. A smile crept onto my face as I took out my phone and called Qu Liang. 0

After about ten seconds, Qu Liang picked up the phone and asked coolly, "Jiang Ling, what’s up?" 0

With a mischievous grin, I replied, "Liang Liang, my dad is gone for a few days. Want to come over and keep me company? We could deepen our relationship! My bed is really big; I'm sure you'll love it!" 0

"With the college entrance exams coming up soon, I'm busy studying and don’t have time to hang out with you! You might as well let your left hand and right hand keep you company!" Qu Liang said before hanging up. 0

Feeling embarrassed, I scratched my ear and put my phone away. From Qu Liang's tone, it was clear that my intentions had been seen through and outright rejected. 0

"Everyone else is preparing for their exams; even Fatty isn’t going to skip out on taking them. That leaves me all alone! Looks like I need to find something to do; otherwise, I'll be too bored!" I muttered to myself while opening the fridge and grabbing something to eat to fill my stomach. 0

"What can I do?" I sat in a chair for a while thinking until finally coming up with an idea of what I should do. 0

I ran to my bedroom, grabbed my backpack, packed a few changes of clothes along with some daily toiletries. 0

After packing up, I slung my backpack over my shoulder and walked to the desk. I tore off a sticky note, wrote a line on it, and stuck it on the refrigerator. Then I locked the door and went out. 0

The note read: Dad, I'm going back to my hometown for a few days. I'll come back once I've had enough fun. 0

My hometown is in a rural area of the county, where I spent my childhood. 0

Although the countryside isn't as bustling as the city, it has its own advantages. For instance, fresh air, wild fruits, and animals running freely in the hills. I can catch fish in the river and hunt rabbits in the mountains; there are plenty of things to do. 0

I checked the time. If I took the bus at three in the afternoon, I would just make it back before dark. With about two hours until departure, I was sure I could make it. 0

I hailed a taxi and rushed to the bus station to buy my ticket, only to find that there was still more than half an hour until departure. 0

Feeling a bit bored, I sat in the waiting area playing on my phone when I heard a commotion outside. Curious, I put my phone away and walked out. 0

Outside the station, I saw a large crowd gathered around an old man. He was dressed in a yellow Daoist robe and had a white beard about an inch long, looking like a wise sage. 0

The old man sat on the ground with a yellow cloth spread out in front of him, displaying various odd items, each marked with a price. Behind him stood a flag that read: Wu Bansian's Street Stall Goods. 0

A large group of people surrounded Wu Bansian's stall, chattering excitedly. Occasionally, someone would pull out money to buy something from his collection. Wu Bansian merely collected money and made change, occasionally smiling but mostly remaining silent, embodying the demeanor of a sage. 0

"Wu Bansian?" Looking at the words on the flag, my first impression was that this old man was a fraud. I shook my head, uninterested in exposing him or buying anything from him. 0

What intrigued me more was that such self-proclaimed half-sages should have few believers; yet here, it seemed quite the opposite. 0

"Excuse me, sir," I asked a man in his thirties who had just bought an amulet from Wu Bansian. "What exactly is this Wu Bansian?" 0

The man was in high spirits as he hung the amulet around his neck and smiled. "Buddy, you don't know Wu Bansian? He's the most famous master in our city! He’s solved many supernatural incidents and has even been on television. I heard he’s a Daoist who came down from Maoshan to gain experience; he's quite skilled." 0

The man pointed to the amulet on his chest and said, "Wu Bansian usually sells some blessed items to everyone. Today you and I are lucky to encounter Wu Bansian selling talismans. You should hurry and buy one too, or they will all be sold out!" 0

I thanked the man and curiously walked over to Wu Bansian, muttering to myself, "Could it be that this Wu Bansian is truly a master?" 0

As I approached, I noticed that everything on the yellow cloth had already been sold out. Wu Bansian smiled at the people around him, then gathered the yellow cloth from the ground and put it into his bag, saying, "Sorry, but that's all for today. I have other matters to attend to, so I must leave!" 0

Before leaving, Wu Bansian smiled and cupped his hands in salute while glancing at the crowd. I caught his gaze for a moment, and he nodded at me, leaving me feeling puzzled. 0

"Everyone, we will meet again if fate allows!" With that, Wu Bansian packed up his things and left the station with a handsome silhouette. 0

I glanced at the group of people around me and noticed those who had bought amulets were beaming with joy, as if they had won the lottery. 0

"Is it really that magical?" I wondered, quickly walking over to an older man nearby. I activated my Yin-Yang Eyes and looked at the amulet hanging from his neck. 0

I saw a faint yellow glow emanating from the amulet, with a weak magical power hidden within it that could help the wearer ward off wandering spirits. 0

"I didn't expect that Wu Bansian is indeed a mage!" I retracted my Yin-Yang Eyes and sighed in amazement. However, I still couldn't understand why Wu Bansian had nodded at me in the end. 0

"Whatever! I'm about to head home!" I checked the time and realized there was less than ten minutes until departure. Grabbing my bus ticket, I hurried toward the station. 0
