The cemetery was eerily quiet, and my loud shouts echoed far and wide.
After a few seconds, I heard Lan Yue's voice calling out, " Brother Jiang Ling, wait a moment, I'm almost there!"
Hearing Lan Yue's voice gave me a sense of reassurance. I glanced at Qu Liang, who was struggling desperately, and tightened my grip, gritting my teeth to hold her down and prevent her from escaping.
Lan Yue was here because I had contacted the police station behind him in advance.
Recently, there had been numerous incidents of supernatural beings harming people in the city, leaving the police department overwhelmed.
Since I had helped Zhang Yang handle a few supernatural cases, the chief of the police station sought me out and asked for my assistance in dealing with these entities.
Just as I was about to take action against Qu Liang, I realized that if I could eliminate the snake demon buried in the grave, the malevolent spirits causing trouble in the city would scatter. So I agreed to help and borrowed forty-nine male police officers from the station.
Before coming to the cemetery tonight, I had already coordinated with Lan Yue to have him set up the formation as soon as he discovered Qu Liang entering the graveyard.
On the outskirts of the cemetery, Lan Yue was directing the officers according to the diagram I provided, ensuring they stood in the correct positions. From above, one could see that these officers surrounded the grave sealing the snake demon, forming what resembled the Seven Seven Demon Suppression Formation.
Each officer held a red thread about the thickness of a thumb, connecting them to their neighbors. The threads were smeared with cinnabar and black dog blood to deter any approaching spirits. Additionally, tall torches were planted beside them.
Once Lan Yue arranged everyone properly, he stood at his designated spot and shouted, "Everyone tighten your red threads and light your torches!"
"Understood!" The forty-nine vigorous men ignited their torches, illuminating the entire cemetery.
"Finally!" I smiled at the sight of the flames around me. I released my hold on Qu Liang and quickly scrambled to my feet.
I took out a silver talisman from my pocket, formed a seal with my hand, and recited, "Seven Seven Demon Suppression Formation, forty-nine masculine energies! I command this place sealed; no demon shall defy!"
I saw Qu Liang stand up from the ground, realizing that things were going badly as she prepared to run away. I quickly chased after her, pressing the Silver Talisman against her body, and swiftly formed a Seal with my hands, shouting, "Demon Sealing Order, command!"
As soon as my words fell, the police outside the Cemetery suddenly felt their bodies drained of strength, completely powerless. If someone had activated the Wisdom Eye, they would have seen a faint red aura bursting forth from them, representing their inner yang energy.
I noticed a gust of wind swirling around me, as all the yang energy rushed in from all directions, wrapping around Qu Liang in the center of the formation.
After about ten seconds, Qu Liang's body was suppressed by the Seven Seven Demon Suppression Formation, unable to move at all. Yet she was not ready to give up; her face twisted in rage as she shouted, "Jiang Ling, if you dare to make a move, I will perish together with Qu Liang!"
I stepped in front of Qu Liang and glanced at her, shaking my head. "Snake demon, there's no need for you to struggle. Since I've already made my move, I'm not afraid of your threats! Go ahead and perish together; let me see you try!"
A sense of dread crept into Qu Liang's heart. She attempted to control the snake within her to devour her own heart but found that the snake was entangled by a thin red thread and she could no longer control it.
Qu Liang's expression turned frantic as she looked at me in disbelief and shouted angrily, "Damn it! Why is this happening? It must be your doing!"
I nodded and took out a talisman from my pocket, placing it on Qu Liang's forehead. "The Seven Seven Demon Suppression Formation utilizes the yang energy of the one who sets it up to suppress demons. It's considered one of the most profound Taoist demon suppression formations. Although the forty-nine police officers outside are not practitioners and cannot unleash its true power, it is more than enough to trap a demon like you who hasn't cultivated an inner elixir!"
A hint of tenderness flickered in Qu Liang's eyes as she looked at me and seductively said, "Jiang Ling Brother, I truly like you! If you let me go, I can be your demon servant and serve you for life!"
I couldn't help but swallow hard at Qu Liang's alluring figure. Indeed, if Qu Liang could be my demon servant and let me do as I pleased, then my happy life would be guaranteed.
"Ah, what a pity!" I sighed. While I indulged in such thoughts, I wouldn't actually go through with it. A glimmer of surprise crossed Qu Liang's eyes; she probably hadn't expected me to do this. She opened her mouth to continue arguing a few more points. But before she could speak further, I formed a Spell with my left hand and drew a Command Character in my right palm before striking towards her chest without giving her a chance to respond.
"Earth God’s might, eradicate evil and punish demons! Borrow my divine power to bind souls and capture demons! Capture Demon Technique, command!"
My right hand rested on the giant moon above Qu Liang6d, and a wave of soft comfort spread through my palm, as if I had just slapped down on a springy cotton candy.
I felt a warmth in my nose, as if blood was beginning to flow. Quickly, I wiped away the blood and coughed awkwardly before forming the Spell again, my expression turning serious as I slapped it down. I shouted, "Serpent Demon, come out!"
As my palm struck down, Qu Liang's face contorted in pain. The serpent demon within her let out a roar, refusing to emerge easily.
"Refusing a toast only to drink a penalty! Watch me strike again!" Seeing that the serpent demon was still resisting, I formed another Seal and aimed it at Qu Liang's chest.
I struck several times in quick succession. Finally, the serpent demon could no longer hold on. She opened her mouth and retched, a thumb-sized white snake slithering out from her lips.
Once the serpent demon left Qu Liang's body, she closed her eyes and fainted immediately.
"Why did it come out so quickly? Couldn't I have struck a few more times?" I glanced at Qu Liang's chest with some lingering regret but ultimately shook my head. I picked up the nearby Peach Wood Sword, preparing to deal with the serpent demon before me.
After hitting the ground, the serpent demon swayed and transformed into human form, revealing her true appearance as the alluring Liu Wanting.
Liu Wanting's complexion was somewhat pale. She clutched her chest and glared at me with venomous eyes, saying, "Stinky Taoist, my brother will soon break the seal. Just wait to die!"
I pointed the Peach Wood Sword at Liu Wanting, unfazed as I replied, "Stop talking nonsense. Your brother isn't out yet; let me deal with you first!"
