I originally thought that Chu Pengpeng would hide away, never expecting him to boldly appear right in front of me. 0

I intended to test Chu Pengpeng's resolve, so I pointed my Peach Wood Sword at him and said, "Ghost, you show up here, aren't you afraid I'll strike you down?" 0

Chu Pengpeng showed no fear at all. He toyed with the Fat Mouse in his hand and smiled, "Jiang Ling Brother, I know you won't kill me; otherwise, you could have done it last time!" 0

I was taken aback by how easily Chu Pengpeng saw through me. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I touched my ear and said, "While I won't kill you, I will send you to the Underworld for reincarnation. You have no objections to that, right?" 0

A smile appeared on Chu Pengpeng's face. Given his pale complexion, his smile looked somewhat eerie. He replied, "As long as you can catch me, I'll go to the Underworld!" 0

After saying this, he tossed the Fat Mouse towards me and swayed his body before disappearing in an instant. 0

"Chirp chirp chirp!" The Fat Mouse was thrown into the air, its short legs flailing as it emitted terrified squeaks. 0

I opened my Yin-Yang Eyes and saw where Chu Pengpeng had vanished. I could have chased after him, but hearing the Fat Mouse's cries made me hesitate. In the end, I decided not to pursue him. 0

I reached out and caught the Fat Mouse, lifting it by its tail. "You fat little rodent! Didn't I tell you to run away this morning? Why are you still here?" 0

The Fat Mouse squeaked frantically as if trying to communicate something to me, but unfortunately, I couldn't understand a word it was saying. 0

I walked toward the balcony and said, "Stop squeaking! I'm sending you away right now. If I catch you again, I'll make you into hot pot!" 0

The Fat Mouse understood my words and immediately shut its mouth. When it heard that I intended to eat it, it got so scared that it dropped a few pellets of droppings. 0

"Gross! That's disgusting!" Seeing the droppings on the ground, I quickly tossed the mouse off the balcony onto a patch of grass beneath a scraggly tree. 0

As soon as the Fat Mouse hit the ground, it rolled a few times before standing up and glancing back at me. Then it scampered away in defeat. 0

After sending off the Fat Mouse, I returned to Chu Pengpeng's room. I used my Yin-Yang Eyes to scan the living room but found no sign of him. 0

As I walked toward the door, I deliberately shouted loudly, "Ghost! If you're daring enough to play hide-and-seek with me, just wait until I catch you!" 0

I had no intention of searching for Chu Pengpeng myself. As long as I opened the door and waited for Qu Liang to return with supplies, I could set up a summoning array and force Chu Pengpeng out into the open. 0

I pretended to look around seriously for Chu Pengpeng, but I had slowly made my way to the door. A smile appeared on my face as I hurried to the entrance and tightly grasped the doorknob. 0

With a firm twist, I successfully opened the door and turned back with a grin, saying, "Ghost, I'm leaving first. I'll come back later to settle the score with you!" 0

I tucked away the door lock so that I wouldn't have to jump over from the balcony again at night. To prevent Chu Pengpeng from locking the door again, I placed three talismans on it. 0

Satisfied with my arrangement on the door, I closed it again and returned to Zhang Yang's room. 0

After I left, Chu Pengpeng emerged from the hanging lamp above. He looked at the three talismans on the door and his expression darkened. Floating down to the ground, he angrily exclaimed, "Not fun! Not fun! I want to find someone else to play with!" 0

Chu Pengpeng walked into his bedroom and pulled an old music box from a drawer in his desk. He opened it, but since the mechanism was broken, no music came out. 0

A sinister smile spread across his face as he said, "Everyone come play!" 0

With that, Chu Pengpeng dove into the music box. The once dilapidated music box was enveloped in a layer of green light, and the broken mechanism began to turn again, producing a melodious tune. 0

The mournful music echoed in the empty room, creating an eerie atmosphere. 0

I returned to my room and called Qu Liang, asking, "Beautiful Qu, I'm all set here. How much longer until you get back?" 0

Qu Liang was currently stuck in a taxi. She replied, "I'm caught in traffic right now; it'll take me another half hour to arrive!" 0

We chatted for a bit, and I told her to come directly to my room next door when she arrived. 0

I put my phone away and glanced outside, noticing that it was getting darker. It was rush hour now, so it was no wonder Qu Liang was stuck in traffic. 0

"Hey? What's that sound?" I faintly heard music coming from the next room and felt an uneasy premonition. I slung my backpack over my shoulder, took out my Peach Wood Sword, and headed toward the neighboring room. 0

As soon as I opened the door, I saw that the room next door was slightly ajar with seven or eight people gathered at the entrance, including two familiar aunties. 0

One of them spotted me and quickly greeted me warmly, "Jiang, you’re out too! Where's your girlfriend?" 0

I secretly hid the Peach Wood Sword beneath my backpack and smiled, saying, "Auntie, my girlfriend went shopping and will be back soon. By the way, what are you all doing here?" 0

The aunt pointed towards the adjacent room, her expression somewhat uneasy. "We heard noises coming from Pengpeng's house, so we came over to check it out!" 0

Feigning curiosity, I asked, "Auntie, I heard that noise too, but isn't there no one in their room? How could there still be sounds coming from there?" 0

The aunt lowered her voice and said, "There’s probably a ghost in that room. You two should be careful!" 0

Nearby, a young man in his twenties scoffed at the aunt's words. "What era are we living in? Still talking about ghosts! I bet there's someone hiding in there! Let's go take a look!" 0

With that, he pushed open the door and walked inside. The four young men beside him laughed and followed without a hint of fear. Outside the door were just me and three aunts who were too scared to enter. 0

I smiled at the aunts and said, "You all should head back! I'll go in and see what’s happening." 0

The aunts nodded, looking worried. "Jiang, be careful in there! We'll stay outside and keep watch for you. Just shout if anything happens!" 0

I nodded and stepped into the room. I noticed that the three talismans that had been affixed to the door were torn down. 0

Shaking my head, I reattached three talismans to the door and then drew out the Peach Wood Sword, surveying the entire room once more. 0
