The Cinnabar wrapped in newspaper smashed down into the well, scattering everywhere upon hitting the Spider Demon. Cinnabar is a special potion designed to subdue evil entities, and its effect on the Spider Demon was predictable.
"Ah!" A scream echoed from the well as the Spider Demon fell heavily to the bottom, thrashing against the walls in a desperate attempt to shake off the Cinnabar.
Hu Yalong, seeing that I had knocked the Spider Demon down, approached with his own package of Cinnabar, grinning mischievously. " Brother Jiang Ling, step aside! Let me take care of this Spider Demon!"
He tossed his Cinnabar into the well, and upon hearing a roar from below, he thought the Spider Demon was about to charge up at him, causing him to stumble back a few steps in fright.
After waiting for about a minute without seeing the Spider Demon emerge, Hu Yalong awkwardly scratched the back of his head and pulled out another package of Cinnabar to throw into the well again, shouting, "Damn it! If you have any guts, stop screeching and come up here to face Brother Fat one-on-one!"
In an effort to prove his bravery, Hu Yalong threw all the Cinnabar he had on him into the well, even tossing in my Black Dog Blood along with my Cinnabar.
He was getting carried away with it all. Rubbing his hands together, he asked, " Brother Jiang Ling, do you have any more Cinnabar?"
I stuffed the remaining half package of Cinnabar into my pocket and replied, "This half is for drawing talismans; you don’t need to waste it on that."
"Actually," he continued, "there's another thing that's effective against this Spider Demon besides Cinnabar and Black Dog Blood! That’s Boys' Urine!"
"Boys' Urine contains a strong Yang Qi, especially when freshly produced; it can reveal the true form of evil entities. Usually, those ghosts and monsters are elusive, making it hard to use Boys' Urine against them. But now that this Spider Demon is trapped below, we can just let it flow!"
Feeling a bit of urgency myself, I stood by the edge of the well and pulled out That Guy to relieve myself into it.
As soon as I finished, a loud roar erupted from within the well—much more effective than either Cinnabar or Black Dog Blood. The Spider Demon shouted furiously, "Ah!! How dare you urinate on me! I will kill you! I will tear you apart!"
"How dare you talk tough in front of Brother Fat? Watch how I teach you to behave! No wait—I'll teach you how to be a monster!" Hu Yalong grinned wickedly as he took my previous position and prepared to pull out That Guy.
At that moment, Hu Yalong awkwardly scratched his head again. " Brother Jiang Ling, why don’t you turn around? I can’t go if you’re watching me!"
"What a disgrace!" I shot him a disdainful glance but eventually turned away.
Hu Yalong pulled out That Guy and began urinating into the well while humming a tune. Just as he finished and was pulling up his pants, he curiously peeked into the well and exclaimed, "This doesn’t make sense! I've been at it for so long; why is there no reaction down there? Am I no longer a virgin?!"
It would have been better if he hadn’t looked. The moment he did, he froze in shock. He saw that just two meters below the well's opening, the Spider Demon had climbed up closer. Its green eyes were fixed intently on Hu Yalong, as if it wanted nothing more than to rip him apart.
"Damn it! You really came up here to challenge me!" Hu Yalong slowly backed away while drawing his Peach Wood Sword, keeping his eyes locked on the Spider Demon in the well.
"Die!" The Spider Demon let out a roar, opening its mouth to spit out a strand of silk aimed at Hu Yalong's neck.
Seeing the silk flying towards him, Hu Yalong swung his Peach Wood Sword and easily deflected it.
With a smug smile on his face, Hu Yalong planted the Peach Wood Sword into the ground and boasted, "Is that all you've got, monster? You're no match for my Brother Fat!"
Hearing the commotion by the well, I quickly turned around. At that moment, I saw the strand of silk that Hu Yalong had knocked away flying back up and heading straight for his neck.
The silk was behind Hu Yalong, and he was completely unaware.
"Fatty, behind you!" I shouted as I rushed forward with my Peach Wood Sword.
Upon hearing my voice, Hu Yalong turned around just in time to see the silk. Unfortunately, it was too late for him to dodge.
The silk wrapped around Hu Yalong's neck, and with a powerful tug, it pulled him down to the ground and dragged him toward the well.
" Brother Jiang Ling, help!" Hu Yalong gasped, clutching at the silk around his neck, his face turning red as he struggled to breathe.
I had already reached Hu Yalong's side. I took out an Exorcism Talisman and pressed it onto the silk on the ground, channeling a bit of Vital Energy into it as I shouted, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Three Pure Ones bless us, exorcise evil and eliminate demons!"
"Exorcism Talisman, command!"
The Exorcism Talisman ignited without fire, emitting a beam of white light that struck the silk, breaking it apart significantly.
Seizing the opportunity, I swung my Peach Wood Sword at the gap and shouted, "Cut!"
After severing the silk, I quickly untangled it from around Hu Yalong's neck. At this point, he was nearly suffocating.
"Cough! Brother Jiang Ling, you have to avenge me!" Hu Yalong wheezed as he lay on the ground, clutching my leg with a quivering voice.
It was understandable for Hu Yalong to lose his composure; anyone would be shaken after wandering back from Ghost Gate.
I patted Hu Yalong reassuringly and said, "Don't worry! I will definitely help you get your revenge!"
Taking advantage of the moment when I cut the silk, the Spider Demon had already broken through three runes and those red threads above the well and charged out.
The Spider Demon leaped out of the well and landed in the clearing before me. By the light of the moon, I could see that the Spider Demon was enveloped in white smoke, its body resembling something that had been splashed with sulfuric acid, with many parts rotting beyond recognition. Green blood flowed everywhere, and the stench was overwhelming.
The Spider Demon glared at me and Hu Yalong with a vengeful look, roaring, "I will kill both of you!"
Unable to tolerate the foul odor, I pinched my nose and pointed my Peach Wood Sword at the Spider Demon, saying, "Stop with the nonsense and come at me!"
The Spider Demon had already been weakened by me and Hu Yalong, its Demon Form shattered. It could only exert about thirty percent of its power, making it no match for me.
The Spider Demon opened its mouth and spat out a web, then swiftly lunged toward me, following the web's trajectory.
I took out three Talismans and tossed them in front of me. Then I formed several Hand Seals and shouted, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Break for me!"
The Talismans ignited spontaneously without fire, transforming into three fireballs the size of fists that instantly incinerated the web before me.
"Die!" The Spider Demon had already charged up to me, raising its front legs to slash at me while simultaneously attempting to bite down.
Seeing the ferocity of the Spider Demon, I was confident I could block its attack. I bit my index finger and quickly drew a rune on my Peach Wood Sword before casting several Spells.
Noticing that I remained still while the Spider Demon was about to strike, Hu Yalong rushed over in a panic and shouted loudly, " Brother Jiang Ling, focus!"
