I walked over to Lan Yue and Hu Yalong, saying, "I have a way to catch the monster that's been stealing corpses, but I need both of your help."
Lan Yue asked, "What’s the plan? How do we help?"
"I suspect that monster will come to steal a corpse tonight. At that time, you two will swap places with two of the corpses. Once we reach the monster's lair, I'll take care of it."
After hearing my plan, Hu Yalong shook his head vigorously. " Brother Jiang Ling, you don’t even know if you can defeat that monster! If you can’t, Lan Yue and I will just be a feast for it!"

Lan Yue's expression was very serious as he frowned and said, " Brother Jiang Ling, this plan is too dangerous. Do you have any other ideas?"
I understood that both Lan Yue and Hu Yalong had valid points, but I couldn’t think of another solution at the moment. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I scratched my ear and smiled, "You two don’t need to worry! With me protecting you from the shadows, I won’t let a single hair on your heads be harmed!"
To reassure them, I took out two pieces of yellow paper, bit my fingers to draw blood, and created two talismans for them. "This talisman can be used once; it will help you resist three attacks from evil beings whose power is lower than mine."
Hu Yalong and Lan Yue carefully tucked the talismans away. Hu Yalong looked at me and said, " Brother Jiang Ling, I can help you with this, but I have one condition!"
I felt speechless; I was clearly brought in by Zhang Yang to help them. How did it end up with Hu Yalong asking for a favor? Although I thought this way in my mind, for the sake of capturing the monster, I nodded and said, "Alright, Fatty, what’s your condition? Just say it!"
Hu Yalong scratched the back of his head awkwardly. " Brother Jiang Ling, if I survive this ordeal, you must teach me a few ghost-catching spells!"
I was puzzled by Hu Yalong's request and curiously asked, "Fatty, why would an ordinary person like you want to learn ghost-catching spells?"
Hu Yalong replied, "If I learn them, I can impress girls! My family Cai Feng loves this kind of strange stuff!"
After hearing Hu Yalong's answer, I felt a wave of frustration wash over me. I nodded and said, "Fine, when the time comes, I'll teach you a few tricks!"
Hu Yalong had already activated his Wisdom Eye; learning the basics of ghost-catching spells wouldn’t be an issue for him. Teaching him a few tricks wasn’t a big deal.
Lan Yue quickly chimed in as well: " Brother Jiang Ling, I want to learn ghost-catching spells too!"
"Uh!" I turned to Lan Yue and said directly, "Lan Yue, your talent isn't as good as the Fatty's, so there's no point in wasting your effort learning the Spell."
Lan Yue shook her head in disappointment and didn't bring up any other requests. Hearing my words, Hu Yalong smugly asked, "Brother Jiang Ling, with my talent, if I started cultivating from the beginning, wouldn't I be as strong as you by now?"
"Fatty, you're dreaming!" I shot Hu Yalong a glare and replied, "With your talent, even if you trained for another twenty years, you wouldn't have half of my current strength!"
To ensure that Lan Yue and Hu Yalong could safely complete their mission, I had them carry the Peach Wood Sword with them and casually gave each of them three Talismans while reminding them of some important things to pay attention to.
After more than ten minutes, Zhang Yang and the others had checked all the corpses in the Body Storage Room and discovered three unusual bodies. They brought the shrouded bodies over to me.
Wang Shenglin politely asked, "Senior, how do you plan to handle these three corpses?"
I didn't rush to answer but instead asked back, "If it were you, how would you deal with these corpses?"
Although Wang Shenglin was very polite on the surface, he was much older than me, and I knew he probably didn't think highly of me. So I wanted to test him a bit.
Without much thought, Wang Shenglin replied directly, "If it were me, to prevent these Corpses from undergoing any mutations, I would immediately incinerate them!"
Wang Shenglin's approach was straightforward and effective; however, it wasn't suitable for this situation. If the monster that stole the corpses came and found that the marked bodies were missing, no one could predict what it might do.
I didn't point out the pros and cons of incinerating the Corpses because I had other plans in mind. I nodded at Wang Shenglin and said, "Let's go with your method."
Before they took the three Corpses away for incineration, I unzipped the shroud of the middle body and saw a man in his thirties lying inside. His expression was very peaceful in death.
I bowed respectfully to the Corpse and said politely, "I am Jiang Ling, a Yin-Yang Master. In order to capture demons and eliminate evil spirits, I need to borrow your body; please do not hold it against me!"
The soul of this Corpse had long departed from its body. My politeness was entirely out of respect for the deceased.
After finishing my words, I quickly plucked a dozen strands of hair from the Corpse and used scissors to cut off some fingernails. These items were wrapped up with a Talismans.
"Now we can proceed with the cremation!" I adjusted the body bag and said to Wang Shenglin behind me.
Wang Shenglin didn't understand what I needed the hair and nails of the corpse for. Upon hearing my instruction, he immediately took two assistants and headed toward the cremation area. The three corpses were loaded onto a cart, being dragged by workers from the funeral home.
All three bodies had issues, and Wang Shenglin's presence at the cremation was primarily to recite a sutra for their release, ensuring that the process went smoothly.
Seeing Wang Shenglin leave, Zhang Yang approached and asked, "Jiang Ling, is there anything you need us to arrange?"
I thought for a moment and replied, "Sister Zhang Yang, there's nothing you need to help with for now. Why don't you go back to the station and call in more officers? We might need a lot of people tonight!"
Zhang Yang nodded and took the two officers with her. If more police were to be summoned, it would require an application to higher-ups. Having these two officers, who had personally dealt with ghosts before, would make the request easier.
After watching Zhang Yang leave, Xu Jingfeng came over with a notebook for recording body information. I found the birth date and time of the male corpse from earlier, as well as that of the corpse from which I had just pulled hair.
"Xu Boss, please prepare two body bags for me; I have use for them!" I returned the notebook to Xu Jingfeng and glanced at Hu Yalong, quickly adding, "One of them needs to be large!"
"Got it! I'll take care of it right away!" Xu Jingfeng said as he hurried out with the notebook.
Soon, only Hu Yalong, Lan Yue, and I remained in the Body Storage Room. I took out the talisman containing the hair and nails of the corpse and said, "Let's get started!"
