"Mommy!" Hu Yalong screamed in fright upon hearing our words, and without thinking, he fell off the bed, landing face-first on the ground.
After struggling to get up, Hu Yalong rubbed his face and cursed, "Damn it! My incredibly handsome face is completely ruined!"
He brushed off the dust from his clothes and walked towards us. At that moment, he felt as if a cold hand had grabbed his right foot.
"Whose hand is this cold?!" Without thinking much, Hu Yalong instinctively looked down at his feet. He saw that a boy in a school uniform was holding onto him, most of his body wrapped in a body bag, with only his head and hands exposed.
"Oh my God!" It was Hu Yalong's first encounter with a corpse, sending chills down his spine and causing goosebumps all over his body. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and swallowed nervously.
"Fatty, what are you standing there for?" Seeing Hu Yalong's panicked expression, I quickly walked in front of him.
When Hu Yalong saw me approach, it was as if he had found a savior. He grabbed my hand tightly and said in fear, " Brother Jiang Ling, please help me! I'm so scared my legs are weak; I can't move!"
I used my Yin-Yang Eyes to take a look at the corpse on the ground but found nothing particularly unusual. The corpse had accidentally grabbed Hu Yalong's right foot; it was just bad luck for him.
I turned to Wang Shenglin beside me and instructed him and his two assistants to hold down the corpse inside the body bag. Once everything was ready, I called Lan Yue over, and together we pulled Hu Yalong's arms.
"Take a few steps forward!" Lan Yue and I forcibly pulled Hu Yalong forward three or four steps before turning back to look.
I saw that the corpse was still gripping Hu Yalong's right foot tightly. Its upper body had been dragged out of the body bag while its lower half remained inside. The intestines were spilled all over the ground, blood pooling around the body bag, filling the air with a strong metallic scent.
Wang Shenglin noticed something was off and immediately led his two assistants to hide at a distance. After confirming there were no strange occurrences, he returned with them behind me and casually asked, "Senior, what's going on here?!"
Seeing Wang Shenglin's earlier reaction made me shake my head inwardly; he clearly lacked the courage to be a mage.
" Brother Jiang Ling, what is this?!?" Hu Yalong stuttered in fear, his teeth chattering as his legs trembled uncontrollably; he was on the verge of wetting himself.
Lan Yue patted Hu Yalong on the shoulder and said, "Come on, you’re being too cowardly!"
Hu Yalong shot Lan Yue a glare and retorted, "Stop with the sarcastic remarks; it’s not like you were the one caught!"
While Lan Yue and Hu Yalong were bickering, I crouched down to examine the corpse closely, but I still couldn’t find anything unusual.
I looked around and noticed Xu Jingfeng’s expression was tense, as if he had something to say. I walked over and asked, "Xu Boss, do you need something?"
Xu Jingfeng nodded and said, "Actually, we’ve encountered corpses like this before. Those of us in this line of work know that after a person has been dead for a long time, the blood inside their body doesn’t flow out. This corpse has been dead for over three days, yet it can still bleed this much; something is clearly wrong."
"I remember that many of the missing corpses showed similar signs before they disappeared!"
After hearing Xu Jingfeng's words, I furrowed my brow and crouched back down beside Hu Yalong. I poked the corpse's hand with my finger and found it unusually soft, almost as if it had no bones.
"Hey?!" I tried to forcefully pry open the hand resting on Hu Yalong's right foot. As soon as I applied pressure, all the fingers snapped off. Bright red blood flowed from the wound; being so close, I not only smelled the metallic scent of blood but also a faint odor of decay.
Frowning, I took out a talisman from my pocket. Dipping my hand in cinnabar, I quickly drew a Gathering Energy Talisman.
I changed my hand positions repeatedly and cast several spells onto the Gathering Energy Talisman. Then, holding it in my right hand, I placed it over the corpse. After casting the final spell, I shouted, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Evil Qi has roots; gather energy to reveal!"
"Gathering Energy Talisman, command!" As soon as I finished speaking, a wisp of gray smoke floated out from the corpse and was absorbed by the Gathering Energy Talisman in my hand.
After about ten seconds, the Gathering Energy Talisman had absorbed three or four wisps of gray smoke and had turned completely gray.
"Could there be a monster nearby?" Wang Shenglin looked at the now gray Gathering Energy Talisman in my hand and asked.
The purpose of the Gathering Energy Talisman is to absorb surrounding Evil Qi, causing changes in the talisman paper to determine whether there are any ghostly presences nearby.
The Eerie Aura would turn the Gathering Energy Talisman black, while demonic energy would cause it to turn gray.
Wang Shenglin saw the Gathering Energy Talisman change to gray, which is why she asked.
I discarded the Gathering Energy Talisman in my hand, already having some guesses in mind, but I didn’t rush to speak. I nodded and said, "The bodies that disappeared from the funeral home must be the work of a monster."

Having just shown a bit of skill in front of Xu Jingfeng and the others, they had unconsciously begun to see me as the leader. After I gave my instructions, Zhang Yang and the others immediately went to inspect the bodies in the Body Storage Room.
I looked at the body on the ground, and suddenly an idea flashed through my mind. I walked over to Xu Jingfeng and pulled him aside, then pointed at the body on the floor and asked loudly, "Boss Xu, can you find out this person's Birth Date and Time?"
Xu Jingfeng replied confidently, "No problem! As long as it's a body that came here for cremation, we keep detailed records. I'll go find it right now!"
While Xu Jingfeng went to look for the information, I called Lan Yue and Hu Yalong over to one side. Looking at both of them, I said, "I have something very exciting for you; I wonder if you’re interested?"
"What is it? Let’s hear it first!" Hu Yalong asked curiously.
