As our group stepped into the funeral home, we noticed five or six people hurriedly exiting. 0

Leading the way was a middle-aged man dressed in a blue Daoist robe. In his left hand, he held a dust whisk, while his right hand clutched a compass, giving him an air of ethereal grace. 0

Behind the blue-robed Daoist were two boys, around thirteen or fourteen years old. One boy carried a peach wood sword, while the other held a stack of yellow paper. 0

The boss of the funeral home, Xu Jingfeng, was a man in his forties. He stood beside the blue-robed Daoist with three employees. 0

Xu Jingfeng smiled broadly at the Daoist and flattered him, "Wang Shenglin, you truly have remarkable skills. Just one talisman has dispelled the eerie atmosphere of my funeral home. It seems that having you come to resolve my issues is certainly going to be effortless!" 0

Wang Shenglin looked expressionless as he examined the bagua mirror in his hand, nodding solemnly. "Rest assured, Boss Xu! With my involvement, your funeral home will be safe and sound!" 0

In reality, Wang Shenglin was a mediocre sorcerer who usually pretended to be impressive to fool wealthy clients. If he ever encountered a ghost with any real power, he would not hesitate to flee. 0

However, Xu Jingfeng was unaware of Wang Shenglin's true nature and mistakenly believed him to be a highly skilled sorcerer. 0

Just three minutes earlier, Wang Shenglin had been performing rituals inside the funeral home. He muttered incomprehensible incantations before igniting a talisman. Coincidentally, I had just intervened to dispel the corpse qi in the funeral home, leading Xu Jingfeng to misinterpret the situation. 0

Wang Shenglin was puzzled himself; he knew that he hadn’t dispelled the corpse qi. Nevertheless, he continued to put on an act in front of Xu Jingfeng. 0

Finding an excuse, Wang Shenglin walked outside with the compass in hand, hoping to use this opportunity to locate the true sorcerer who had intervened and seek assistance. 0

As soon as he stepped outside, he ran into us. He glanced at us and subtly performed a hand seal over the compass in his hand. 0

I noticed Wang Shenglin's actions; he intended to use the compass to find the person with the highest magical power nearby. 0

However, my round seal had long concealed my magical fluctuations. Anyone whose power did not surpass my master’s would never detect my identity. Even with the help of his compass, Wang Shenglin would absolutely fail to uncover it. 0

After Wang Shenglin performed the Hand Seal, the needle of the compass in his hand spun around two or three times before finally pointing at himself. 0

Wang Shenglin looked a bit disappointed at the result on the compass. He raised his head to look at us, arching an eyebrow in a very disdainful manner as he asked Xu Jingfeng, "Boss Xu, who are these people? I don't like too many people standing around when I'm performing my rituals. If something goes wrong, you can't blame me!" 0

Xu Jingfeng recognized Zhang Yang among the crowd and, with a somewhat awkward expression, said, "Daoist, these are the police responsible for our funeral home case. It might be difficult to get rid of them." 0

"Hmph, you handle it as you see fit!" Wang Shenglin snorted coldly, strutting out with his two assistants. 0

Xu Jingfeng signaled to his staff to follow Wang Shenglin and then approached Zhang Yang with a smile, asking, "Captain Zhang, what brings you here today? Do you have any leads?" 0

Zhang Yang shook his head and replied, "We heard that your funeral home is still disposing of bodies, so we came to investigate the scene again." 0

Xu Jingfeng nodded, saying, "No problem, you're welcome to investigate anytime!" 0

Zhang Yang turned to look at Wang Shenglin in the distance and said somewhat unhappily, "Since your funeral home has already reported this case, you should trust us police. Why did you bring a Daoist here?" 0

Xu Jingfeng quickly waved his hand and said, "Captain Zhang, please don't misunderstand! Those of us in this line of work have some superstitions to varying degrees. I noticed your investigation wasn't making progress, so I called in a Daoist to take a look!" 0

"If you think it's unnecessary, I'll have him leave immediately!" 0

"You should have that Daoist leave right now; I've already found someone very capable..." Zhang Yang glanced at me, intending to explain my identity to Xu Jingfeng. 0

I hurried over to interrupt Zhang Yang's words. I gave her a knowing look and smiled, saying, "Sister Zhang Yang, please don't send that Daoist away just yet. Let's all see how he does it first!" 0

Although Zhang Yang didn't quite understand my reasoning, she chose to trust me upon seeing my expression. 0

Zhang Yang waved her hand at Xu Jingfeng and said, "I won't interfere with your decision for now, but if anything unexpected happens, you must follow my instructions!" 0

After listening, Xu Jingfeng's face lit up with a surprised smile. He exchanged a few kind words with Zhang Yang before quickly chasing after Wang Shenglin, who had gone outside. 0

Once Xu Jingfeng had run off, Zhang Yang walked over to me, curiosity evident in her voice. "Jiang Ling, why didn't you reveal your identity?" 0

I glanced at Wang Shenglin in the distance and smirked. "We just arrived and aren't clear on the situation yet. With this mage scouting ahead, we should follow and see what’s going on first." 0

We lingered outside the funeral home for over ten minutes when Wang Shenglin approached us, compass in hand. I noticed his dejected expression and thought to myself how blind he must be; I had been standing right there, yet he hadn’t noticed me at all. His attitude was also quite unfriendly. 0

Wang Shenglin stepped in front of us and checked the compass again, but the results remained unchanged. He sighed and said, "Could it be that the expert has already left?" 0

"I've heard about your situation from Boss Xu," Wang Shenglin said, casting a disdainful glance at us. "I hope you can keep your distance while I perform my rituals!" With that, he strode into the funeral home. 0

"Damn, he's so arrogant!" Hu Yalong remarked, feeling quite upset at Wang Shenglin's pretentiousness. He turned to me and asked, "Brother Jiang Ling, is this Taoist any good?" 0

I shook my head with a smirk. "This Taoist is too weak; he probably can't handle whatever's happening inside the funeral home. If he runs into any danger, we can have some fun figuring out how to deal with him!" 0

Hu Yalong and Lan Yue immediately wore mischievous smiles as we discussed ways to mess with Wang Shenglin, our ideas growing increasingly wicked. 0

Zhang Yang and the other two police officers stood nearby, trying not to laugh. Finally, Zhang Yang couldn't hold back any longer and coughed lightly. "You three shouldn't go too far!" 0
