When I and Qu Liang arrived, we found only one Bat Demon there; the other Bat Demon had already vanished without a trace.
I frowned and used my Yin-Yang Eyes to carefully scan the surroundings, detecting a trace of demonic energy left behind by the Bat Demon. As long as I followed this thread of energy, I was confident I could catch that Bat Demon.
I focused on the Bat Demon in front of me and sensed that its cultivation was just over a hundred years, not yet able to fully transform into human form, making it one to two times stronger than the Pig Demon I had encountered earlier.
However, with my seals fully activated, dealing with this Bat Demon was a piece of cake. I took out a talisman, preparing to eliminate this Bat Demon.
Seeing my actions, the Bat Demon quickly stepped back a few paces, raised its hands in surrender, and said in fear, "Master, spare my life, and I'll tell you a secret!"
I temporarily put away the talisman and asked curiously, "Oh? What secret? Let's hear it!"
The Bat Demon sighed in relief and said, "Masters, my name is Old Eight. The bastard who just ran away is my brother, Old Nine! We grew up together and cultivated as demons to live and die together. I never expected Old Nine would leave me behind and run away!"
Hearing Old Eight ramble on without providing anything useful, I quickly interrupted him, waving the talisman. "Stop babbling! Get to the point or I'll send you on your way!"
Old Eight shivered at the sight of the talisman and quickly nodded. He pointed at Qu Liang and said, "This time Old Nine and I came here under orders from our Second Sister to kill this Sorceress!"
I turned to glance at Qu Liang, thinking that she might really struggle against these two Bat Demons. However, I was curious about who would want to kill Qu Liang.
Qu Liang snorted coldly, taking out three Silver Talismans given to her by her master for protection. Angrily, she said, "You two Bat Demons think you can take me on? If you have guts, face me one-on-one right now!"
Old Eight was intimidated by Qu Liang's stance and took a few steps back, unwilling to confront her. I quickly reached out to stop Qu Liang. "Qu Liang, don't rush into action; let's find out what's going on first!"
Qu Liang glared at Old Eight and coldly demanded, "Who ordered you to kill me? Speak up!"
Old Eight did not hide anything and revealed the whole story. I didn't make things difficult for him; according to our agreement, I sent him into the Underworld.
After listening to Old Eight's words, Qu Liang snorted again. "I didn't expect there would be so many demons lurking in my territory, daring to plot against me!"
Qu Liang turned to me and said, "Jiang Ling, accompany me to that graveyard; let's deal with those monsters once and for all!"
This had nothing to do with me; besides, Qu Liang and I weren't very familiar with each other. There was no need for me to provoke those monsters. Rubbing my ear and yawning, I said, "I'm feeling a bit too tired; I'm not going with you!"
Qu Liang crossed her arms and looked at the seal on my chest, saying slowly, "I have a way to break the Round Seal on you!"
My master had told me that the seal on my body was indeed the Round Seal. It took me seven years to break one-third of it. Previously, I sought help from others to remove the seal, but no one recognized the Round Seal on me, let alone had any methods to break it.
Qu Liang immediately recognized the Round Seal on me, hitting a soft spot. I excitedly grabbed her arm and asked loudly, "Is it for real?"
Qu Liang nodded without hesitation. She drew a rune on my chest with her right hand and then swiftly cast several spells, chanting, "Round Seal, seal round!"
"Clear Seal, command!" After casting the final spell, Qu Liang struck my chest seal with her palm.
A blue light emanated from Qu Liang as she worked her magic on me, dispersing the black smoke above the seal. The Round Seal on my chest retreated back into my body.
The magic she had just used consumed a lot of her energy, leaving her visibly weak as she swayed slightly. She withdrew her right hand and asked with a pale face, "Do you believe me now?"
I sensed a change in my body and realized that my internal energy hadn’t vanished; the Round Seal felt slightly loosened compared to before.
"Beautiful Qu Liang, I’ll go with you to check it out!" I smiled and nodded, leading Qu Liang toward the graveyard of the Bat Demon.
At two in the morning, the graveyard was eerily silent. Moonlight illuminated the area, revealing many tombstones surrounded by green Ghost Fire.
These Ghost Fires were merely phosphorus elements from dead bones burning in the air. They looked frightening but posed no real threat; they were completely different from the Ghost Fire released by Zhen Ding.
I changed into a different shirt, and as Qu Liang and I stepped into the graveyard, those Ghost Fires began to drift slowly toward us.
Having seen many such Ghost Fires before, I felt little fear; it was like watching a swarm of fireflies.
At first, Qu Liang wasn’t scared either; she even reached out to grab at the Ghost Fires. However, when she touched them, she started trembling uncontrollably as if she had been electrocuted.
"I’ve heard of pollen allergies and egg allergies, but this is my first time hearing about Ghost Fire allergies! Haha, this is hilarious!" I laughed heartily while holding my stomach and looking at Qu Liang.
Qu Liang shot me a glare. As another cluster of Ghost Fire floated toward her, she ran over to me in fright and clung tightly to my arm.
With her arms wrapped around my arm in front of her, I felt a softness against my skin. My lips curled into a smile as I shyly touched my ear and said playfully, "Don’t be afraid; I’m here to protect you!"
I reached out and dispersed the drifting Ghost Fire, leading Qu Liang through the graveyard until we finally found the tomb of the Bat Demon.
I took out my phone and shone a light on the tombstone in front of me, which was inscribed with Liu Yutao's Tomb.
Using my Yin-Yang Eyes, I examined the tomb and discovered that it emitted a faint aura of demonic energy. However, at each of the four corners of the tomb, there was a Golden Buddha Light emanating, enveloping the entire tomb like a Golden Seal.
Qu Liang activated her Wisdom Eye and also noticed the Golden Seal above the tomb. She approached each corner of the tomb and performed several Hand Seals.
At that moment, four fist-sized Divine Beast Apparitions appeared above each corner of the tomb. The four divine beasts were the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the apparitions of the four divine beasts were covered in cracks; it wouldn't be long before they shattered completely, breaking the seal.
I sensed a trace of Zhen Ding's aura above the divine beasts. My brow furrowed as I said, "Could it be that the snake demon is sealed inside here?!"
Qu Liang then retracted her Hand Seals, causing all four divine beasts' apparitions to vanish. Looking at the tomb before us with a serious expression, Qu Liang said, "This is the Buddhist Four Symbols Evil-Sealing Formation! From the looks of it, there’s a very powerful ghost sealed inside this tomb!"
I nodded, thinking that if what was sealed inside was that five-hundred-year-old snake demon, we would be in big trouble. I asked, "How much longer can this Four Symbols Evil-Sealing Formation hold?"
"It can last for another half month!"
