I held a Thunder Talisman in my hand, the most powerful talisman I could use with my current magical energy. In fact, the greater the power of a talisman, the more magical energy it required.
Qu Liang was able to use five Yang Thunder Exorcism Talismans at once not because of her immense magical strength, but because those talismans had already been infused with power; she only needed to activate them. Otherwise, given Qu Liang's abilities, she could manage to cast only one Yang Thunder Exorcism Talisman at most.
The Thunder Talisman I held and the Yang Thunder Exorcism Talismans shared a common trait: both released lightning to combat spirits. The difference was that the Thunder Talisman absorbed the magician's magical energy before unleashing its thunder.
The more magical energy infused by the magician, the more powerful the lightning became. It was said that a formidable Onmyoji once summoned lightning with a Thunder Talisman and exterminated a thousand-year-old Zombie.
While I couldn't summon lightning myself, it would be more than enough to deal with this Pig Demon.
I tossed the Thunder Talisman into the air and continuously cast spells towards it, channeling all my magical energy into the talisman.
The Thunder Talisman floated in mid-air, spinning rapidly. After I infused it with my energy, the yellow talisman paper turned crimson, faintly radiating a red glow.
"Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Bestow divine thunder, assist me in vanquishing demons! Thunder Talisman, command!" I shouted loudly, pointing my right hand at the charging Pig Demon.
The Thunder Talisman ignited spontaneously, and a bolt of red lightning shot out from it towards the Pig Demon.
"Master, spare me!" The Pig Demon sensed the intense danger emanating from the red lightning and its eyes filled with fear as it pleaded for mercy. At the same time, it twisted its body in an attempt to evade the Thunder Talisman's attack.
"Pig Demon, you have already taken lives; as an Onmyoji, I will show you no mercy!" A murderous glint flashed in my eyes as I cast another spell and shouted, "Lightning vanquish demons, swift!"
After casting the spell, the red lightning in the air accelerated and quickly caught up to the Pig Demon.
"Ah!" The Pig Demon let out a wail as the lightning struck its body. The grievances within it were completely purged by the lightning, and its form reverted to what it once was.
I dispelled the lightning within the Pig Demon without destroying its soul and took out a Soul Sending Talisman. "Pig Demon, I will send you to the Underworld for reincarnation!"
"Thank you for your mercy!" The Pig Demon expressed gratitude as its soul entered the Soul Sending Talisman and gradually faded away.
I looked at where the Pig Demon had vanished and shook my head. "After my exams, I must return home to retrieve my waist pouch! Otherwise, I won't be able to unleash my full potential!"
Using my Yin-Yang Eyes, I scanned the Slaughterhouse but found no other spirits; all grievances there had been cleared. Glancing at Lao Zhu's corpse, I frowned. "Since someone has died here, it's best for me to leave quickly!"
Just as I reached the exit of the Slaughterhouse, I heard footsteps approaching from not far away—there were quite a few people. I looked around but found no place to hide.
"Damn it, I don't care anymore!" I forced myself to stay calm as I stood at the entrance of the Slaughterhouse.
After about a minute, I saw seven people walk in. Four of them were in police uniforms, holding guns, while the other three wore clothes similar to Lao Zhu's, likely butchers from inside the Slaughterhouse.
Leading the group was a female police officer who looked as stunning as Qu Liang, with an exceptional figure that clearly marked her as a beauty of the police force.
"Captain Zhang Yang, that monstrous pig is inside! It's the one that killed Lao Zhu!" one of the butchers exclaimed as they entered.
As soon as Zhang Yang stepped inside, she spotted me standing in the Slaughterhouse. Instinctively, she pointed her gun at me and asked sternly, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
The butchers noticed the dead Pig Demon on the ground and quickly pointed at me. "Captain Zhang, this person must be the transformed pig! You can't let him go!"
I shot a glance at the one who spoke, thinking how ridiculous his imagination was. Should I summon a ghost to scare him tonight?
Zhang Yang glared at the butcher and retorted sharply, "This is a civilized society; stop spreading feudal superstitions!"
She signaled to two officers behind her. "You two, cuff him and take him back to the station for questioning! Wang, come with me to inspect the crime scene!"
I sighed, not expecting that after defeating the Pig Demon, I would end up being arrested by the police. I thought to myself that I hadn't done anything wrong, so there was no need to feel guilty. I extended my hands and allowed the two officers to cuff me.
Zhang Yang approached Lao Zhu's corpse lying on the ground, covered in blood. Her brow furrowed as she put on gloves and a mask to examine the back of the body but found no fatal wounds.
She nodded to one of the nearby officers. "Wang, flip the body over for inspection!"
"Police Sister, I advise against flipping it!" I kindly reminded from the side.
"Shut your mouth!" Zhang Yang shot me a glare and reached down to turn over the corpse.
Once she flipped it over, a strong stench of feces hit her nose. She then saw Lao Zhu's hollow stomach and the scattered remains of internal organs on the ground.
"Ugh~~" Zhang Yang was still a woman after all; upon witnessing such a gruesome sight, she couldn't help but squat down and vomit. The others didn't throw up but their faces turned pale, all eyes diverting from Lao Zhu's corpse.
After a while, Zhang Yang steeled herself and finished examining the crime scene. From Lao Zhu's wounds, she deduced that he had been brutally killed by that fat pig on the ground and that I had nothing to do with it.
Zhang Yang walked up to me with an imposing demeanor and demanded, "I ask you again: why are you here?"
I looked into Zhang Yang's eyes, unable to bring myself to deceive her. So, I recounted everything that had happened here from start to finish, including the Walking Corpse, the Pig Demon, and Grievance, without a hint of falsehood.
After I finished speaking, I cleared my throat and awkwardly said, "Police Sister, I'm actually a Yin-Yang Master, specializing in catching ghosts! Although I dealt with this Pig Demon, I'm quite low-key. You don't need to call the TV station for an interview; just give me a Good Citizen certificate!"
Upon hearing my words, Zhang Yang's tone softened considerably. She unlocked my handcuffs and gently said, "Tell me, which Mental Hospital did you escape from? I'll take you back!"
"Sigh! Such a young guy, looking quite handsome too. Who would have thought he’s actually insane? What a shame!"
"Where in this world are there any Pig Demons or Walking Corpses? He’s really delusional!"
Seeing the expressions of the people around me, I felt utterly frustrated. I was speaking the truth, yet no one was willing to believe me. I shook my head and sighed, wanting to explain but finding no words.
Using my Yin-Yang Eyes, I glanced at the group before me and noticed a faint Eerie Aura surrounding Zhang Yang. Out of goodwill, I asked her for a pen and wrote my name and phone number on a blank piece of yellow paper. Then I handed both the paper and the pen to Zhang Yang.
"Police Sister, this is my phone number. If you encounter any strange occurrences in the future, feel free to call me!"
Zhang Yang took the yellow paper and glanced at it before smiling at me. "Jiang Ling, don’t worry! Take care of yourself; I'll come visit you when I have time!"
I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me as I awkwardly touched my ear and then scurried out of the Slaughterhouse.
