"Damn, can you be any more disgusting!" I couldn't stand it any longer and rushed over, kicking Lao Zhu away.
Qian Duoduo was standing too close, and Lao Zhu's intestines spilled out, splattering all over Qian Duoduo, with even a piece of intestine stuck between Qian Duoduo's lips and nose.
"Ugh!" Qian Duoduo threw away the piece of intestine from his lips and squatted down, retching violently.
"Boss Qian, I really didn't mean to!" Seeing Qian Duoduo's miserable state, I awkwardly scratched my ear.
"Hehe, give me your intestines!" Lao Zhu got up from the ground, holding something in his hand as he slowly approached me.
Qian Duoduo, seeing Lao Zhu's appearance, quickly hid behind me and fearfully asked, "Brother Jiang Ling, is Lao Zhu a human or a ghost?!"
I shook my head. "Lao Zhu is neither human nor ghost; he is a Walking Corpse!"
"Lao Zhu was harmed by a beast; his soul is trapped in his body but lacks much awareness. He is now just an animated corpse, what we call a Walking Corpse!"
As I saw Lao Zhu getting closer, I took out a blank talisman from my pocket. "Boss Qian, extend your index finger!"
Qian Duoduo stretched out his finger. I used my nail to make a small cut on it and then held his finger to draw a spell on the talisman.
Once the spell was drawn, I infused it with a burst of Vital Energy, then immediately recited the incantation: "With your blood, offered to the divine, may no ghost invade! Talisman, complete!"
After uttering the final syllable, the talisman flashed with golden light, signifying its completion. I placed the talisman on Qian Duoduo's chest. "Boss Qian, this talisman is drawn with your blood and infused with a bit of my Vital Energy. As long as you keep it close to you, it will protect you from harm by ghosts for thirty minutes!"
"I'm going to deal with this Walking Corpse, so I might not be able to look after you. Just stay aside. If you encounter any ghosts that the talisman can't handle, splash them with Black Dog Blood!"
Qian Duoduo nodded and walked towards the exit of the Slaughterhouse, holding the Black Dog Blood. His intentions were clear; if I couldn't defeat Lao Zhu, he could make a run for it. The reason he didn't dare to run off alone was mainly due to the fear of encountering any ghosts that might have killed Lao Zhu outside.
I paid no mind to Qian Duoduo's plans because in my eyes, dealing with a Walking Corpse like Lao Zhu posed no challenge at all.
Habitually, I reached for my waist to grab some talismans to deal with this Walking Corpse.
"Wait? Where's my waist pouch?" I looked down and suddenly remembered that I hadn't brought it out at all. All the tools we use as exorcists are kept in our waist pouches; typically, an exorcist would never be without theirs.
Since my master sealed my powers years ago, I hadn't caught any ghosts for quite some time. My waist pouch was left at home; usually, I only carry a few talismans in my pockets. Shaking my head, I thought, "Looks like I'll have to go back home this year and retrieve my waist pouch!"
While I was searching for something, Lao Zhu had already closed in on me. He reached out with his left hand toward my head while swinging his right hand to stab at my stomach. With a ferocious expression on his face, Lao Zhu said, "I've killed pigs all my life; this is the first time I'm killing a person! Hehe~~"
Although I hadn't found the magical artifact, dealing with Lao Zhu was still quite simple. I snorted coldly and stepped back a few paces to evade Lao Zhu's attack.
I took out a talisman from my possession, bit my index finger, and began to draw symbols on the talisman while running backward, temporarily avoiding a confrontation with Lao Zhu.
"Hey, don't run away!" Lao Zhu threw his apron to the ground, revealing his empty belly, and chased after me.
After finishing the drawing on the talisman, I glanced at Lao Zhu and snorted, "Just a mere Walking Corpse; I'll send you on your way soon!"
Holding the talisman in my hand, I charged toward Lao Zhu.
The talisman I drew was just an ordinary Soul Guiding Talisman, which could extract the soul trapped within Lao Zhu's body, turning the Walking Corpse before me back into a lifeless corpse.
"Hey, go die!" Seeing me rush over, Lao Zhu swung his right hand and aimed a strike at me.
I frowned, bit my tongue, and spat a mouthful of Tongue Blood at Lao Zhu's face.
Tongue Blood is the substance with the highest Yang Qi in the human body and is more effective against ghosts than Black Dog Blood. However, biting my tongue was painful enough to bring tears to my eyes, which is why I rarely used Tongue Blood.
Lao Zhu was splattered with my Tongue Blood; the areas hit began to sink slowly while white smoke started to rise from them as if they had been splashed with sulfuric acid.
"Ah!" Lao Zhu let out a painful scream. He dropped what he was holding and crouched down, covering his face with both hands while trembling uncontrollably.
Lao Zhu had already become a Walking Corpse; even if you chopped off his arms, he wouldn't feel anything. But my Tongue Blood was different because it harmed not Lao Zhu's body but his soul.
Seizing the opportunity, I pressed the Soul Guiding Talisman onto Lao Zhu's Spirit Cover. With both hands forming a spell gesture, I shouted, "Ultimate Earth, Mystical Arts Have Methods! Soul Guiding Talisman, command!"
I unleashed the spell from my hands; the Soul Guiding Talisman on Lao Zhu's Spirit Cover ignited spontaneously without fire. A burst of white light enveloped Lao Zhu's soul as it floated out from his Spirit Cover.
"Thank you for your rescue, Master!" Lao Zhu's soul stood before me and respectfully clasped his fists in gratitude.
I nodded in acknowledgment of Lao Zhu's gesture. If I hadn't intervened, he might have been trapped in his body forever and never reincarnated in the Underworld.
I asked him, "How did you die?"
Lao Zhu sighed and replied, "Master, I was bitten to death by a pig!"
"This morning, I was the first one to arrive at work when a pig suddenly ran out. It jumped onto the cutting board by itself and lay there motionless!"
"I didn't think much of it; I just went over and bled the pig. At first, everything seemed normal, but after I finished bleeding it and was about to pull it down, it suddenly came back to life!"
Upon hearing this, I turned to glance at the fat pig on the cutting board and noticed its eyes were wide open, filled with a strange intelligence as it stared back at me.
As soon as I walked in, I sensed something was off with this pig. The grievances of the slaughterhouse had likely all been absorbed by this pig, transforming it into a Pig Demon.
I calmly asked Lao Zhu, "What happened next?"
Lao Zhu looked at the fat pig with terror in his eyes and said, "After that, the pig looked at me and spoke in human language: 'You killed me, now I demand your life in return!'"
I could already guess what happened next. I took out a Soul Sending Talisman and said, "You are already dead. I will send you to the Underworld for reincarnation early so you can avoid some punishment! Whatever grievances you have, the Judge of the Underworld will handle them!"
Once a person dies, they must report to the Underworld as soon as possible. Delaying even a little means an extra year of punishment in the Underworld.
"Thank you, Master!" Lao Zhu's spirit entered the Soul Sending Talisman. I released it, watching as the talisman floated away slowly until it vanished from sight.
I picked up what was on the ground and looked at the fat pig on the cutting board. "Pig Demon, why aren't you showing yourself?! Do you want me to stab you again?"
"Haha, I didn't expect you to have some skills as a master!" The Pig Demon jumped down from the cutting board and spoke human words.
