Qu Liang shot me a defiant glare and pulled out a stack of Silver Talismans, saying, "What’s wrong with me? Do you believe I can take you down in an instant?"
Seeing the Silver Talismans in Qu Liang's hands made me step back in fright. What shocked me even more was that the talismans were infused with Qu Liang's magical energy, meaning she had drawn all of them herself.
I cleared my throat awkwardly and said, "Qu Liang, I didn't expect you to be so impressive!"
In the Yin-Yang Realms, there are many types of mages based on their training directions. Among them, three categories stand out: the first type is Yin-Yang Masters like me who specialize in exorcising spirits; the second type consists of mages skilled in crafting magical artifacts; and the third type is those like Qu Liang, who excel at drawing talismans.
A proud smile appeared on Qu Liang's face as she put away the Silver Talismans. "I can set up the Seven Star Soul Locking Formation, but I need to prepare some materials first. Then, at night, I can harness the essence of the Big Dipper Seven Stars to maximize the formation's power!"
I wasn't knowledgeable about formations, but I trusted Qu Liang's words. I nodded and asked, "What do you need to prepare? Do you want me to help?"
Qu Liang thought for a moment. "I need the Rooster Comb Blood from forty-nine roosters, a seven-foot-long red thread smeared with Cinnabar, and two taels of Black Dog Blood. For now, that's all I need!"
Qian Duoduo jotted down these items with a pen and smiled. "Qu Liang, just wait here; I'll go buy them right away!"
The items Qu Liang needed were all used for exorcism and were hard for ordinary people to find. Qian Duoduo had recently been running errands for mages and had picked up some connections.
I glanced at Qu Liang and saw her take out a blank Silver Talisman, preparing to draw a spell.
Noticing my gaze, Qu Liang looked up and shot me a glare. "What are you staring at? Never seen a beauty before?"
I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me as I rubbed my ear. "Someone's too narcissistic; no wonder they can't get married!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I noticed a murderous glint in Qu Liang's eyes. Following the principle of survival, I immediately grabbed Qian Duoduo and fled the shop.
Qian Duoduo gave me a thumbs-up in admiration. "Dude, you're amazing! It's my first time seeing someone dare to joke around with Qu Liang like that!"
I rubbed my ear sheepishly and smiled. I didn’t tell Qian Duoduo that what I said earlier was actually my true feeling and not just a joke.
Driving an Audi A6, Qian Duoduo took me to several obscure shops in the city where we managed to buy enough Rooster Comb Blood and the red thread smeared with Cinnabar. The only thing left was the Black Dog Blood.
"This world is truly full of wonders; even these things have sellers!" I exclaimed. In the past when I exorcised spirits, I usually only bought Cinnabar for drawing talismans and rarely needed anything else.
After following Qian Duoduo around for a while, I noted down several shops so that in the future, if I needed anything, I'd know where to go.
Seeing my expression in those shops earlier, Qian Duoduo had some doubts about my abilities. He curiously asked, "Brother Jiang Ling, the mages I met before were very familiar with these shops. But it seems like this is your first time visiting them?"
I nodded and, trying to sound impressive, said, "Experts like me rely on our Daoist Arts to deal with ghosts and monsters; we don't need to rely on these external items at all!"
Qian Duoduo looked at me speechlessly, but then a knowing smile appeared on his face. It made me feel a bit awkward, so I rubbed my ear.
He drove the car to a slaughterhouse and said, "Brother Jiang Ling, I got some Black Dog Blood here last time. Let's go take a look!"
I got out of the car and examined the slaughterhouse in front of me. My brows slowly furrowed; there was something wrong inside!
A slaughterhouse accumulates Grievance over time due to the many animals that have been killed there. Once the Grievance reaches a certain level, strange things start to happen.
Just now, using my Yin-Yang Eyes, I saw that this slaughterhouse was shrouded in a thick black mist. In the Yin-Yang Realms, black mist represents Grievance.
As soon as Qian Duoduo stepped into the slaughterhouse, he was immediately chilled to the bone. He rubbed his arms and exclaimed, "This is really strange! Why is it so cold here?"
I shook my head at Qian Duoduo, thinking that with such heavy Grievance here, it would be more concerning if it weren't cold.
I bit my finger and drew a Yang Qi Talisman in the palm of my left hand, discreetly slapping it onto Qian Duoduo.
The Yang Qi Talisman would make the three Soul Lanterns on him shine brighter, making them less likely to be extinguished by Grievance and helping him feel less cold than before. However, as a Yin-Yang Master with Vital Energy protecting me, this level of Grievance wouldn't affect me at all.
I walked over to Qian Duoduo's side and saw that the empty slaughterhouse only had a fat butcher cleaning up and a plump pig lying quietly on the chopping board.
A cold smile crept onto my lips as I said, "So this is where the problem lies!"
Qian Duoduo approached and tapped the butcher on the shoulder, asking, "Lao Zhu, do you still have any Black Dog Blood?"
Lao Zhu turned around; he was wearing a black apron and his work clothes were covered in blood.
Qian Duoduo frowned and stepped back a few paces while covering his nose. "Lao Zhu, what happened to you? Why are you covered in blood? Is this your first time slaughtering pigs? It stinks!"
Ignoring Qian Duoduo, Lao Zhu pointed to an iron barrel nearby and weakly said, "The Black Dog Blood is over there; you can get it yourself!"
Qian Duoduo hurried over and saw that there was half a barrel of Black Dog Blood inside. He nodded in satisfaction and took out two bills to give to Lao Zhu. "Same old rules—two hundred!"
Qian Duoduo saw Lao Zhu not reaching out to take the money, so he took the initiative to stuff the cash into Lao Zhu's apron pocket. "You keep the money, I'll take the goods!"
Qian Duoduo reached towards Lao Zhu's apron, but at that moment, Lao Zhu suddenly stepped forward, causing Qian Duoduo's hand to press against the apron and slip inside Lao Zhu's belly.
Without thinking much, Qian Duoduo joked, "Lao Zhu, your belly has changed so much! No wonder you look a lot thinner!"
Lao Zhu chuckled in a harsh voice, and suddenly black blood began to flow from his nose.
Looking at Qian Duoduo, Lao Zhu lifted his apron with his right hand and said, "Let me show you my belly properly!"
I glanced at Lao Zhu's belly and was horrified to see it had been violently torn open, deep bite marks still visible on it.
Even more terrifying was the emptiness inside Lao Zhu; his intestines and organs were completely gone, leaving only a pile of foul-smelling remnants.
"Wow~~" Qian Duoduo looked at Lao Zhu's belly and squatted down to start vomiting, nearly bringing up bile.
After a while, when Qian Duoduo had finished throwing up, he opened his eyes and looked at the ground, noticing a pile of chewed-up intestines where Lao Zhu had just cleaned.
"Hehe, those intestines are all mine!" Lao Zhu exclaimed as he reached out with both hands to pick up the intestines and stuffed them back into his belly.
