I felt confused by my hostility towards Su Liyan, and just as I sank into thought, the vibration of my phone interrupted my musings. It was a message from Bo Jingtian. "The Su Family wants to meet with you in person." I quickly replied, "I am ready at any time." I decided to take this opportunity to completely sever ties with the Su Family so that I could start my new life with peace of mind.
Bo Jingtian responded, "Three days later, at nine in the morning." I replied, "Understood. I will handle matters with the Su Family in the morning; I have other activities planned for the afternoon." Bo Jingtian replied, "Okay." I took a deep breath, casting one last glance at Su Liyan, silently thinking, "Your time is running out."
Three days later, on a sunny morning, I arrived punctually at the agreed location. Bo Jingtian was already waiting there. The gates of the Su Family slowly opened, and Su Zihau greeted us with a hypocritical smile. "President Bo, welcome!" There was a hint of unease in Su Zihau's enthusiasm. Bo Jingtian nodded expressionlessly as I followed behind him, secretly mocking.
"Xiaoxiao, you came too?" Mrs. Su's voice was filled with surprise and discontent. I ignored her and quietly took a seat, waiting for the drama to unfold. Su Zihau cleared his throat and asked, "President Bo, what brings you to our humble abode today?"
"We're here to discuss matters of cooperation," Bo Jingtian's voice was calm and powerful. Su Zihau's smile grew even brighter. "Is it about our Liyan?" Bo Jingtian shook his head and turned his gaze toward me. "No, it's her."
The expressions of the three members of the Su Family instantly froze, and Su Liyan was furious. "Are you joking?"
"I never joke about such matters," Bo Jingtian's voice was as cold as ice. Su Zihau attempted to salvage the situation. "President Bo, would you reconsider? Liyan is the pride of the Su Family."
"I have already made my decision," Bo Jingtian's tone left no room for doubt. Suddenly, Su Liyan grabbed a vase from the table and charged at me. Bo Jingtian quickly stepped in front of me, and the vase accidentally struck his head.
"You dare to hurt him!" I glared at Su Liyan.
"I... I didn't mean to," Su Liyan's voice trembled.
"Quick, call a doctor!" Bo Jingtian's face turned pale. I immediately dialed for an ambulance while using my handkerchief to stop his bleeding. The three members of the Su Family fell into chaos; Su Zihau angrily questioned Su Liyan while Mrs. Su tried to calm things down. I watched coldly as any last shred of sympathy for the Su Family vanished from my heart.
The ambulance arrived quickly, and I accompanied Bo Jingtian to the hospital. In the vehicle, I softly asked him, "Does it hurt?"
"With you here, it doesn't hurt as much," Bo Jingtian's voice was weak but his gaze was firm. A warm current surged through me as I whispered, "Thank you."
"For you, I'm willing to do anything," Bo Jingtian's voice was low yet filled with strength. Our eyes met, and in that moment, no words were needed to express our feelings.
Upon arriving at the hospital, the doctor swiftly treated Bo Jingtian's wound. I sat beside him, filled with guilt and gratitude. "Let's get married," I suddenly said.
Bo Jingtian looked at me in surprise. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure," my voice was steady and clear. He tightly grasped my hand, tears shimmering in his eyes. "I am willing."
In a corner of the hospital, we simply completed our marriage registration. Holding the marriage certificate in my hands, I softly said, "This photo will mark the beginning of our new life."
"Don't you need to edit it?" Bo Jingtian asked.
I shook my head. "No need; this moment is the most real and beautiful version of us." We exchanged smiles filled with anticipation and longing for our future together.
